My blog is working again!!! YAY!!!!!!!

Hi everyone,
There isn’t anyone who is as excited as I am about my blog being back online! I have spent too many hours trying to figure out what was wrong and what to do since I didn’t know “what to do!” I’ve been going in circles reading what “might” be the problem and then trying to decipher what I just read. The “Blog World” is totally different than just knowing how your computer works. There are words and phrases that you never hear in everyday talk about computers.

So, I was at church this morning and I spoke with Sebastian, (he’s the man who tried to help me with pictures that time Isabelle’s aqua/minty dress just wasn’t showing up as the right color in my pictures) He’s pretty techy and he gave me a few ideas of what the problem might be, explaining it in words I could understand. So, when I got home I tried a few things he told me about… nothing seemed to change or move like he said it would. But he did say it was most likely a server problem… and that got me to thinking about my server and getting ahold of them and seeing if they could help me.

I got online with my server and tried “chatting” and asking questions with (probably a bot) for a while and nothing was happening and then all of a sudden a page popped up and it asked “Would you like to Contact Us?” I clicked the link, “yes, I would” and I got ahold of Rick, who saved the day for us! He was so nice and told me some changes had been made recently and for some reason they seemed to have just kicked in on my blog last Thursday afternoon.

Long story short, he walked me through where I needed to go, to see where he was changing things. It took him less than 5 minutes and he said, “try your post now and see if it looks like it’s supposed to.” I did and sure enough it was my blog post I had written but didn’t go through. He even showed me how to check if I get another 404 Error again and what to do to correct it. He also told me to keep my blog in tip top shape, I can go to a page on my Dashboard for my blog and “save changes” every day and it will keep things in the right places. He said every time I make any kind of change, or update or revision, to save the changes. So, I’ve made a big note with exactly how to do it each night and that will be the last thing I do after I’ve written the post for the next day!

Guess how many times I said “Thank You” to Rick? About 20 times I’m sure! I think he knew he had saved the day for me (for us!) So let’s carry on like nothing has been wrong…

Since I’ve been so tied up with this problem, and trying to clean my house in between, (because my sister, Cindy and her hubby are coming in a day or two) I haven’t even stepped in my sewing room, but fortunately Sissy has wedding pictures she sent to me! Thank you, Sissy! You saved the day for me on this Monday!

She will do the narrating for her pictures…

Here is the bride and groom…

There I am on the right getting a great look at a second big wedding kiss.

My son Ronny with me at the wedding.

Tommy and me on the way to the big beach.

Last day we all went to the beach. Here are Carla and Sean, her groom, with Harper teaching him how to make drip castles. The beach looks like New York, so many people there for the holiday.

After the wedding rehearsal everyone came to my brother’s dock for dinner. Here are some photos.

Here is the bride to be and her groom.

Here is my granddaughter with my sons, her dad, Ronny, on the left and my younger son, Tommy, on the right.

Carla is hugging her granddad, my 90 year-old brother. They decided to have the wedding on the Island so he could be there. They live in Chicago and so do nearly everyone who came.

Here are Simione and her cousin, Harper. They were born 1 week apart, one in GA, the other on Long Island. They were junior bridesmaids.

Here are Carla and Mark, her dad. He is my nephew.

Next is the wedding group, on the left is Carla’s younger sister, Loren.

Well, Sissy, I hope I got the pictures matched up to what you were describing… and I hope I got them in the right order. I think I did! It must have been a beautiful wedding because the setting looked wonderful! I’m sure you all had a great time visiting and eating!

Well, I guess I’m done for the night, so I’ll go hit that “save changes” on my dashboard and hope everyone gets this post tomorrow!

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

First of all, Jeanne, congratulations on the successful auction of Mae’s darling outfit! I’m sure you had to use lots of cookies as bribes to get her to give up that one!!

And congrats on getting your blog back up, and so quickly, too!! (Relatively speaking….) So great you could contact the server and speak to a real person who solved that little puzzle for you!!

Sissy, I so enjoyed the pictures! You look as lovely as I remember you, when we had lunch together at the Alderwood Mall some time back. Which of your kids was living in the Seattle area at that time? I have forgotten.

It was certainly a beautiful wedding. I love the fabric of the bride’s gown–was it a damask or jacquard weave, perhaps? Just gorgeous.

So nice to see some of your family members, too–your brother looks remarkably young for 90! (Remember, my Ron was 91 when he died last year, and although I always thought he was cute, he was definitely showing his age by the time he was 85).

Thank you so much for sharing this happy event with us!

Charlotte, thank you for your kind words and enjoyment of my family wedding. As for my brother, you can see in the photo that he has his hand on the table for balance. He has trouble with his legs, something about nerves in them. He has always worked out and he ran several times a week for years, even marathons. Now he just swims in the summer and works out 3 times a week on his upper body. He and I both have more strength and energy we inherited from our dad.

I remember our meeting and lunch long ago. I had my younger son Tommy’s daughters with me and Peyton and we went to the American girl store. Your photos look just the same as then. Those girls are very grown up now. The oldest is almost 32.

    2. HI Charlotte,
Yes, Mae was a bit distraught at not getting to keep her dress and especially her shoes, but I told her I’d make another one for Fall soon! She smiled and trotted off playing.

Isn’t it wonderful when your computer gets fixed??? I think we have all been there and it’s NO FUN! I am still thanking the Lord for Rick and his quick assessment on what was wrong with my site and how easily he fixed it and then showed me how to fix it IF it ever happens again! I actually learned about the techy side of things on my blog! YAY!

      Thanks Charlotte,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  2. Linda in St., Louis

Jeanne, you can’t believe how happy I was to once again get the blog! Whqat a relief you must have felt when things go back to “normal”! It just would.n’t be the same with no blog to read!

Congrats on the wonderful sale you made on Mae’s outfit! Poor Mae is probably a sad little girl now!

Sissy, your pictures are wonderful! Such a different setting than here in the middle of the country, but it looks like everyone had a wonderful time, and the bride was just beatiful, as was her gown! Breaktaking, actually! What a handsome family you have! Thanks you so much for sending them!

    1. Hi Linda,
I wasn’t able to check my blog until after 1:00 today, but guess what I found? Your first comment… it was pending and waiting for my approval because you had added a comma after St. It was just enough different than your original login name that it was flagged for my approval. I just now found it.
I have my comments set up so if anyone tries to comment, I have to approve it first… then if I do, they can continue commenting. It’s a security feature.
Sorry you had to retype it because of that comma!
      Blessings, Jeanne

      1. Linda in St. Louis

No problem with it, Jeanne. You don’t have to also have the first comment in herenow if the second one got printed.

        1. HI again Linda,
I just wanted to post your first post to see if you had said anything you forgot the second time. I don’t think you did, but now everyone can see that cute little “comma” that caused you to have to write everything again.
          Thanks, Jeanne

  3. Linda in St. Louis

I’m a bit afraid to comment again, as I did earlier, and after pushing “comment” nothing happened! Well, here goes again, I guess!

I am SO happy that the blog is back to normal and we can once again be greeted with it each morning! It really gets me started on my day, and I miss it dearly when it isn’t there.

Congratulations on your sale of Mae’s outfit, Jeanne! Poor little Mae is probably wondering what she did wrong to lose her pretty outfit!

Sissy, your pictures are wonderful, and it seems almost like we were there! So nice seeing you and your very attractive family! The bride was beautiful and her dress was gorgeous! How fun to see a much different kind of a wedding than we usually see here in the middle of the country! Thank you for sending the pictures to Jeanne and to her for showing us!

    1. Linda, yes, that is always so disappointing.
I learned to start selecting all and copying, as a rule, before posting.
…. too many times “living and learning”

      1. Linda in St. Louis

That’s a great idea, Rosemary, but I don’t know how to copy! Also, I read the blog on a desktop and then again on an iPad, and tney are completely different from each other!

    2. Sissy Lingle on the GA coast

So glad you enjoyed the photos, Linda. I should have taken more of the friends who came. I never saw so many lovely dresses. Also they were so friendly to an old lady, (me). They were interested in hearing about how we grew up on St. Simon’s Island and how it is now. The wedding was different, mostly because then had it at the rented house and there wasn’t a lot of room for the brides maids. They walked down the “isle” and then sat down in the chairs in front.

  4. I admire your persistence Jeanne, You figured it out. It is so good to have help here and there, and you are good at taking instruction, so that is to your credit indeed!

Sissy, I have not been to a wedding in ages! This one is especially beautiful! Thank you for sharing these photos of family and friends and the beautiful bride and groom. You look so happy, what a great time.

    1. Sissy Lingle on the GA coast

I am so glad you enjoyed them, Rosemary! I have seldom seen such joy! The groom is a big, strong guy and yet he was actually weeping with joy at the end of the ceremony.

    2. HI Rosemary,
It’s not really persistence, it was more desperation to get things back the way they were supposed to be. I am still so happy to have it all back the way it was! What a relief!
      Thank you so much Rosemary!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  5. Sissy Lingle on the GA coast

Jeanne, I am so happy for several things, your blog is back and you got help that will make it much easier, Mae’s outfit with all the extras was very loved and did so well for you, and you loved my photos enough to show them. You even figured out my words even though they got all mixed up when I sent them. As others have said, we really miss our mornings from you and hearing from the other sofa sisters. Looking forward to Lavender’s finish and a good week. I will be making more peach freezer jam today, we are going through it too fast.

    1. Dorothy in PA and the World

Dear Sissy, thank you so much for sharing the wedding photos. The bride and groom are adorable. I felt like I was seeing photos from the Hallmark Channel as they seem to have a beautiful storybook quality to them. My blessings to the new couple.

      1. Sissy Lingle on the GA coast

Thank you so much, Dorothy! I love the way you put your words about the wedding.

    2. Sissy Lingle on the GA coast

Jeanne, please keep up posted on Sarah’s granddaughter when you hear from her. Prayers continue.

    3. HI Sissy,
Thank YOU for your pictures. I was almost in a panic last night trying to think of what could I pull together for a blog post and all along I had your pictures just waiting for me to share. I was happy to share them and hope I got everything in the right spot. Even without the comments you made, the pictures kind of spoke for themselves… It was a beautiful wedding and you looked SO happy! I love your smile! We get a monthly magazine from our electric extension office and each magazine features a 2 page spread on recipes for certain foods. This month it was on peaches. Peach pies, peach pudding, peach cobblers, and they looked so good. I tore out those 2 pages and then threw the magazine away. I love peaches!
      Thank you Sissy,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  6. Joy in northern CA

Well congrats on Mae’s great sale. Poor girl will need lots of cookies to forget about that cute outfit. 🙂
And the old Server Error!! So glad that you were able to find some help them. And saving your changes is a perfect solution too. You go girl!!
Delighted to see Sissy’s wedding photos. I think this is how a wedding should be. Outdoors with family and friends adds to the fun for everyone. Loved the wedding dress too. And that photo of Sissy’s brother and his grand is captivating. What a delightful wedding.
Here, we drove down to our youngest grands birthday celebration yesterday. You’ve never seen such smiles when his father wheeled out the new ebike we bought for him. 🙂 Wearing his double digits t-shirt added to the event. He’s turning 10 tomorrow. And they were off. All three grands on electric bikes and scooters around the corner and up to the trail. Going to be hard for little grand to focus with his bike awaiting him to ride home from school today. And yes, he knows the safety rules and always wears a helmet. But, couldn’t help telling him about watching out for cars backing out of driveways etc. etc. etc. He’s been launched. 🙂

    1. Sissy Lingle on the GA coast

So glad you enjoyed the photos, Joy!
I would love to see your grands riding away on their bikes. What a fun birthday! You are blessed to be able to live that close to them.

    2. Hi Joy,
I’ve already spied a new piece of fabric in my stash that will work for her next time. I think she’s already forgotten about it. :o)
Yes, isn’t it wonderful to be back online and everything working just fine? I am SO happy!
It really did look like a very pretty wedding and I too, loved that wedding dress!
How is your Sew-along dress coming? I studied your pictures you shared and was wondering if she had used a print that wasn’t so dark, it may have been easier to see how to do those pleats. Just a thought.
Well, I need to get back to what I was doing… cleaning house!
      Thanks Joy,
      Blessings, Jeanne

    1. HI Joy,
YES… thank you to all those techies who help when we are lost. I didn’t have a clue what to do! If “Rick” lived where I could find him, I’d bake him some cookies!
      Thanks Joy,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  7. Dorothy in PA and the World

Dear Jeanne, yeaaaaaaa! I am glad that you figured things out.

I am praying for Sarah’s daughter.

Yesterday was National Grandparents day. I am raising a sippy cup in honor of all of us who have little ones who call us grammy or grandma or nanna or bubbeh or yiayia or grandmere or a special nickname.

    1. Hi Dorothy,
Well, it wasn’t exactly me who figured things out, but I did pay attention to what Rick was telling me. I actually learned something yesterday that I didn’t know about… what a permalink is and how very important it is to my blog’s welfare! :o)

Thank you for praying for Ruby… She is still in the hospital, but the brain bleed has stopped, she has been taken off the ventilator and the sedation they were giving her to keep her brain calm has been taken away. They were supposed to get her up to see how she tolerated the pin in her femur… but I haven’t heard anything else. Oh wait… Sarah’s sister was supposed to come from Kenya to stay with Ruby a few days so Sarah and Matt could go home and get a few days rest.
Pray for Ruby’s best friend, Arianna, who was beside her when the truck hit her. She is traumatized and they had to take her to St. Louis just to make sure Ruby was okay!

I knew it was grandparent’s day, but was a sluggard and didn’t get any wishes out to anyone I know who was one.

      Thanks Dorothy,
      Blessings, Jeanne

      1. Charlotte Trayer

Poor Arianna; that would sure be traumatizing, to witness that kind of accident. So glad to hear Ruby is on the mend. Prayers continue.

  8. Marilyn in Colorado

You’re back! And with a lovely wedding and solutions that may prevent or solve future problems.

there is one problem with an outdoor wedding — if someone drops the ring, it’s harder to find on rocks, sand, wild grass, etc. than on a nice, smooth floor.

    1. Hi Marilyn,
Yes, wasn’t it a lovely wedding… and yes, I have “SOLUTIONS” I didn’t know about 2 days ago to keep things up and running smoothly! I am one happy camper!
Maybe they had the ring tied on someone’s finger in case they dropped it. OR… maybe the diamond was SO big it would be easy to find. Although, on second thought, the engagement probably had the big diamond in it. :o)
      Thanks Marilyn,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  9. As I’m not on on Sundays I didn’t know about the computer issues, but glad they are fixed. Very sorry to hear about Sarah’s daughter. Prayers for a quick recovery.

What lovely wedding photos, Sissy, and so nice to see you and your family. Wonderful that everyone could attend the joyous celebration.

    1. HI Laura,
Yes, the computer issues were awful this time… nothing I could do and didn’t know who to talk to about them.
If you read my comments to Dorothy in PA, I told a little more about what you pray about for Ruby. It was an awful thing that happened.
      Thank you Laura,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  10. Barbara in SE Texas

I missed the fact that your blog was not working. I was about to go on the other day when it disappeared. I thought it was something I did and got interrupted so I never got back to it. Even though I was ignorant of the problem I’m very happy for your success in bringing it back.

Sissy you look so amazing – and so young. I love the pictures of the wedding. What a lovely bride and so handsome groom. I love the bridal gown. Really different and so lovely. Loved seeing the pictures of your family. And you sure can’t beat the location. I’ve read books which took place on St. Simon’s Island but I can’t remember what they were offhand because it wasn’t in the title of the book.

Thanks for sending these wonderful pictures and to Jeanne for posting them.

    1. HI Barbara,
Well, I’m glad the computer issues are all fixed now. I didn’t know what I was going to do… and this time I just couldn’t call Sarah.

It really was a lovely wedding and the day looked like it was just glorious! I bet everyone had a really good time!
      Thanks Barbara,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  11. Anne Coldron in Christchurch NZ

So glad you got your computer issues sorted. I, too, hope Sarah’s granddaughter is OK. Have a lovely time with your sisters. I can highly recommend spending time with siblings!
Still got some jet lag but I slept a bit better last night so hopefully on the way back to normal. It seems to be harder coming back that going but others have said the same. Maybe it is the downer that the holiday is over.
Sissy it was lovely seeing your photos It was a lovely wedding.
    Have a great day everyone

    1. HI Anne,
What a relief to me too, that the computer issues are all solved now.
It is actually Sarah’s “daughter”, Ruby, who was hit by the truck…
My sister, Cindy, texted me a little while ago and said they got into a big project in Tom’s (mom, who died) mom’s house… they are ripping up a basement floor that has asbestos tiles and pulling molded paneling off the basement walls. Sounds awful… so they are not going to come until Saturday. Which gives me more time to get more things done around here and still find time to sew! YAY!
I’m so glad you got to visit your family, but it was harder on you than it will be on me. When you have to travel so far and then you still end up with jetlag, I know it can be really exhausting. I wish you could visit them more often…
      Blessings, Jeanne

  12. Elizabeth in Texas

Jeanne….Soooo glad your computer is up and running again!!!! I wasn’t able to open the blog last week and kept getting the 404 error. I asked my daughter, who is more tech savvy than I am if she had any clue what I should do and she said it wasn’t my computer, just wait, its a server problem.

So welcome back, “I Dream of Jeanne Marie” blog site….I felt like I had lost a friend!!

    1. Hi Elizabeth,
Yes, your daughter was right…it was a server problem. I guess anything having to do with the URL is a server problem. I’ll remember that now!
I am glad to be back among friends and I’ve felt so welcomed today!
      Thank you so much,
      blessings, Jeanne

  13. Ingrid B in Western New York

Hi Jeanne… I’m so sorry to hear of Sarahs daughters’ accident. I pray for a quick and complete recovery. I’m so happy you were able to solve the pc issue yourself. Congrats on Mae’s outfit sale. It was adorable. I was especially fond of her hat. I have a thing for hats! I thought about bidding, but I’ve lost my sewing/doll room so that beautiful outfit would have ended up in a plastic tote : ( Since I last commented on the blog my mom has been moved to a rehab/nursing facility. Dad started feeling ill shortly after the move and has now been hospitalized twice. I feel awful because he had been complaining his back and side ached and I chalked it up to him lifting mom, it ended up being much more serious. After a week in the hospital, we moved him into my sewing/doll room. Two weeks later as we were getting ready to go for a head CT and blood work he fell in my kitchen. I knew right away he’d broken his hip. This morning marked a week in the hospital the second time around. Dad was moved to rehab today. He will most likely be there for a while until he’s able to manage and then he’ll be back here with me. On a positive note, I’m having fun sorting my sewing and doll things. I too have lots of “to be completed” projects. I’m pretty sure they will remain that way for the time being. lol
Jeanne, thank you for sharing Sissy’s lovely beach wedding photos. Such a beautiful couple! Sissy, it was so nice to see you and your hubby!
    Hugs
    Ingrid
