Hi everyone,
I don’t know how it got to be 12:41 Tuesday morning, I should be in bed, but I don’t have a post written! My day was very busy, but fun. I had a couple ladies take me out for breakfast for my birthday which was about 2 1/2 weeks ago. We had a nice time and then my day got busy. I’m really tired, so I decided today was a good day for a question. You know the drill… I ask, you answer! Easy peasy!
So, here’s today’s question:
If you had the whole day Tuesday to yourself, no interruptions, no phone calls, no dinner to cook, no laundry calling your name, WHAT WOULD YOU SPEND YOUR DAY DOING? See I told you it was easy! Now let’s see what everyone would LOVE to be doing!
Right now, I’m going to go to bed! Tomorrow, I hope to work on Lavender’s set some more!
See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne
OH, that IS an easy question! I would be sewing, of course!! Actually, that’s my plan for at least part of the day–I will take my cutting board, etc. up to the church and use their nice big table there to cut out some garments–a skirt or two for me, and possibly a t-shirt or two. I’m kind of picky at cutting and sewing, so I don’t work as fast as some do, so we’ll see how much I get done.
I’ll also play the piano for a while, and work on my music for Sunday. I usually do that on Wednesday afternoons, after prayer service, but this Wed. I will be going to Leah’s house after service, and we will work on another sewing project. She finished the apron she started a while back (and did a great job, too!) and now she is making a simple skirt. I’m sure this will seem pretty easy after making a bibbed apron with straps, sashes, and pockets!!
Oh, and the other thing I would do is to read a lot. I’ve started on another mystery….
Jeanne, If I could today I would go back to the Island and walk on the beach with Peyton. There would not be all those visiting people covering the beach and I could feel like it was home again. I would take off my shoes and walk in the water and I would sit down and make a drip castle. After that I would go to the pier where all the shops are and have fun looking at things, they get some ice cream, two kinds, on a sugar cone. Then, we would go back home and shake off the sand in the back yard so It would have a bit of my Island here.
Then I would sit on the porch swing with a good book, read and watch the birds at the feeder. After while I would like down on the swing and take a nap. Ahh,
what a nice day.
Barbara in SE Texas
Barbara, thank you for your kind words for me at the wedding. You made me feel so much younger! I am so glad you enjoyed to photos. I love looking at them, it was such a special time. We don’t get so many of us together very often.
I just found a cute graphic, and of course dragged it to my messy desk top.
It says ” You should spend 20 minutes a day sewing
– unless you are too busy, then you should spend 20 days sewing.”
That totally makes sense.
Yesterday I did mindless chores (laundry, bathrooms etc) all day, and a little bit of puttering in my sewing room and then I did do some embroidery on a quilt label.
Today’s plans are not sewing all day, but I could. I have some bindings to make for little Pump-Queen quilted blocks, super cute.
Today I am going out “galavanting” around town. First to Leesburg to get the free paint for the new house (little pints) then Home Depot for stuff, then to my friends sewing shop “Sew Magarbo” for some fabric.
I am packing a drink and bag of apples in my car.
Tomorrow I plan to do some sewing…. but we really should go to the old house and continue to make/collect trash and make the charity pile room and label the furnishings we want etc etc.
I hope everyone has a happy fun day. I love these cooler days
My idea of a perfect day would be strolling through the Missouri Botanical Gardens in the morning, the coming home and working a bit in my yard. I. The afternoon, Michael and I would sit out on the patio, watching the birds and just talking, while he grills some bratwurst, then me making potato salad, deviled eggs, slicing tomatoes and having strawberry or apple pie. I would probably change a doll or two, since that is always fun for me. Just the idea of not having to do anything, plus having a clean slate for the day ahead is so enjoyable for me. I’m really not picky at all!
If I had a whole day to myself, it boils down to what should I do and what I’d like to do. Probably a guilt thing. I should be cleaning the house if I had a whole day or two by myself. And organizing dolls, outfits, wigs, shoes for them, etc. I also should be sorting through the lumber pile by the side of the house and stacking the keep boards by size. But, what I’d like to do sounds much more fun. In the like category, after finishing reading Jeanne’s blog, I’d like to grab that dress I’ve been working on and sew on some bias tape along the hem and finish up the darned thing. I’d also like to call an Uber and have them drive me to San Francisco, where they would wait while I took a walk through the Japanese Tea Garden and other places in Golden Gate Park. Wouldn’t have to worry about where to park or driving there myself. 🙂 I’d also like to fly to wherever there might be a fully stocked fabric store, like the old Joann’s, and pick up all of the stuff I can’t find around here anymore. But, since it is only one day, I suppose that a trip to Kohl’s would have to satisfy my desires for my one day of fun with maybe picking up lunch at Taco Bell. Ha ha 🙂
Looking forward to seeing the finished outfit for Lavender. 🙂
If I had the whole day to myself I would definitely spend it in my sewing room. That is where my dolls are and I still need to change them from summer to fall attire – a few at a time. Then I would continue working on the swimsuits for my L’il Dreamers. After much angst and hair pulling I think I have a system down to a science now. Using decorative elastic around the neckline, armholes and legs is working well, but now I know why no one else is making them. I could find tons of swimsuits for 18″ dolls and dolls like Well Wishers and for RRFF dolls (many of them made by Jeanne) but swimsuits for the smaller dolls were nowhere to be found. Even the lady that made the Siblie swimsuits last year did not make them this year. But at least I’ve finally found a pattern to make the 11″ doll swimsuits, but unfortunately they will all be similar because “designing” them past the design of the pattern is not a doable deal I’m afraid.
It was 73 degrees when I got up at 8 a.m. this morning with low humidity. It’s usually in the high 80s and humid. The early mornings are in the 60s (but you’d have to ask David about that). According to the weather man on the news last evening this is the coolest morning since last May 12. Hopefully there will be more to come soon, but by the end of the week the early morning temps will be in the 70s and the humidity back up. Yuck!
Oh, I can’t wait to see the Lil Dreamer swimsuits! I haven’t seen any patterns that size. There are several Dreamers around here and some Design your own from Ruby Red that would love to have some suits. I guess they would have to be for next summer though. Can’t believe that we had rain today. Not usual around here until about November.
