Hi everyone,
Somehow I missed the Back to School sewing!!! Now how on earth did that ever happen?? :o(
Thank goodness our Miss Linda, doll dresser extraordinaire, managed to get her dolls all ready and we get to see them today! Thanks a million Linda!
Jeanne, here are my dolls in their back to school pictures!
The first picture shows the modern girls with their backpacks, lunchboxes, and I had to put Sara there too, since she did not have a plaid anything to wear to match the 40’s girls. She works out fine though and has a new dress and shoes to show off. Emmy is ‘showing her the ropes’ as a modern girl! Ivy and Scarlett are wearing embroidered tops with slacks and have their backpacks on.
Here are Cecile and Kirsten in their back-to-school clothes. Actually, Cecile is wearing Samantha’s meet outfit, since it is much cooler than the woolen school dress that is the original AG pick for her! We have had 101-degree weather for several days now, and I did not have the heart to put a wool dress on anybody! I still do not have Kirsten’s “real” lunch, but her bucket lunch from Queen’s Treasures works out quite nicely!
Josefina has her school outfit on and her desk opened up, ready for lessons! Since I bought her school accessories in not the best condition, her stand for the desk was missing, so I set it out on her nightstand, which works out quite well, and even looks better!
Felicity is dressed for school, and has her reader and inkwell, but I’m afraid that is it for her at this time. I have no room for her chair, unless I get rid of the trunk behind her, which might be something to think about!
The 40’s girls! I’m sure most of you recognize the three big girls, Susan, Molly, and Ruthie, plus Betsy, but who knows the sister? Kaya! Poor Kaya did not go to school, and has no back-to-school clothes, so I had to include her somewhere, and since I had the nun habit, put her in that. Now if anyone is Catholic and knows nuns, that is not the right habit for a teaching nun, it is a contemplative nun’s habit, and they do not teach, but here they do! Betsy does have a navy sweater that goes with her outfit, but again, who needs a sweater in 101 heat? Everybody has a school bag and lunch box, and you can be sure tney all have notebooks, crayons, and pencils in them, plus food in the lunchboxes. In fact, all of the doll’s lunchboxes are full and they all have their school supplies, except for Felicity not having everything. They live quite a spoiled doll’s life!
I hope this might inspire some of the sofa sisters to get their dolls dressed for school!
Love to you,
Linda💕📚🖍️✏️
