It’s “Pink Perfection” for Yu Ping… Sissy mentioned it!

Hi everyone,
I hope you had a nice weekend. I managed to get our yard mowed with the riding mower and then Saturday I finished it with the push mower. Let me tell you, my Fitbit tracker said my steps were 15,348 and I felt it that night! I was proud of myself for doing the whole yard! Here are a few pictures… it was a beautiful day!

I had a few casualties on my left hand… I broke all the nails except my thumb…

My right had must have been slacking off…

While I was outside, I snapped a picture of the hens… they said “Hey!”

Well, I busied myself on Friday evening and got started on a few things…

Now, Yu Ping has a new white “sweater”, a pair of cute pink and white Mary Janes, a new straw hat, some hair ribbons and a new black puppy she found in the “animals” dolly toy box.

Her “sweater” was a textured knit that was very soft and lightweight… I lined it with tulle so it really does act like a sweater… it’s very easy to put over her dress.

I took the red threads wrapped around her braids off and tied some new pink silk ribbons in Yu Ping’s hair. She jumped in the Dolly Toy Box full of the animals and look who jumped up to meet her… Meet Baxter! He’s a little black flocked dog with blue eyes. They are best buds now..

I drafted a new pattern for Yu Ping’s shoes and made them from the Ultrasuede I bought from Sissy! It is a very close match to her dress, which is a pretty pink… but not such great pictures showing the dress OR the shoes. On your phone the pictures look almost correct in color… on my blog… not so much!

Her new shoes fit perfectly without any socks or tights and just slide onto her foot.

The shoes fit tiny Bailey and Navi too… win win!!

I had this bright pink hat straw and made the hat for Yu Ping, but her head is so small, (she wears a 4-5 size wig) so the hat may appear a bit large on her. But not everyone has a wig that sits close to their dolls head. You can just use a straight pin and stick it through the hat and into her wig and it will stay on okay…

Here are the rest of my pictures… I’m hoping to get this listed on Ebay tonight. Sorry I missed it for Easter… surgeries for my hubby in February, recouperation in March, and I just couldn’t get it done for Easter… This is my new ditty I made for the dress… :o)

“This little dress was meant for Easter, but now it’s a dress made just for Summer,
Yu Ping was sad as she sat on her keester, oh me, oh my, now that’s quite a bummer!”

Thanks everyone,
See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

Your yard looks very nice, Jeanne! Think how much harder you’d have had to work if you hadn’t had the riding mower!!

I’m sorry about the broken nails but, even so, they still look better than mine, which I keep very short all the time. My nails tend to be a little fragile, so keeping them short is the best option.

Yu Ping’s outfit turned out so cute!! I just love those little shoes, and that hat is so sweet! I’m glad to see she has a cozy sweater, too. I suppose the felt you generally use for jackets might have been a bit thick for a doll as tiny as Yu Ping. Your little props (table, etc.) are really cute, too. It looks like she’s given Baxter his dinner in the one picture!

Well, Jeanne, Miss “Pink Perfection” is just perfect! I am so glad you used my Ultrasuede, it is perfect for her adorable shoes. The hat looks fine to me on her little head. Baxter is the perfect size for her. I just love it all!

We have to head out for the Y again. TTY later!

Jeanne, your yard looks lovely, but oh my, your nails on that one hand! Did you wear gloves while mowing? I wish our yard looked that good, but we have two different kinds of grass, Zoysia and Fescue, so one usually greens up before the other. Oh well!

Yu Ping’s little outfit is just darling, I love the cute little jacket and those shoes are adorable! I don’t think the hat looks too big, at least not from what I see but not everybody will have the same hair do on their doll, so no worries about that!

Baxter and Yu Ping are perfect for each other, since they both have black hair! A win all around!

  4. The yard looks incredible, wow, I love your property and now it is Really beautiful!
You are the Mowing Princess with the perfect Property!
“Hey Hens” Your hens look so happy!
Your left hand, Oh Jeanne, the comparison is wild between both of your hands haha
YuPing is super cute! Oh gosh, the sweater is sweet, that material must be like a felt or wool?
Just perfect. The shooz are precious! Her hat fits perfectly (no elastic band needed) and her little pup is so cute, with the cutest loving eyes. Wow!
Was there mention last week that these clothes will also fit a doll that is a bit taller?
Well done Jeanne, it is good to get in a bit of sewing and making every day and this completion was just perfect!
I am sure George is thinking you are Super Girl! Great achievement noted on your fitbit.
I hope everyone had a nice week-end and enjoyed some healthy activities.
Hubbs and I spent three house each day at the old house and cleaned up stuff. Hubbs did the worst job of bringing boxes up from the basement. we have the dining room designated at the room from all of Christina’s things, the family room and sun room as the Charity piles
and throwing away what we can.
I stuffed 4 of the gooses, embroidered on the sleepy eyes, they look cute. They do take a LOT of stuffing! – especially at that long goose neck that holds up the big head.
I did print out the pattern at 30% and made a cute little goose for the AG dolls. And I am modifying the pattern that I printed out at 50%, shortening the neck and plan on making a baby goose. I am also working on some huge 49 patch quilt blocks. All of them are beautiful. Now I am wondering if I want to make a gigantic quilt? or perhaps make some 30″x30″ table toppers, or 45 inch runners? hmmmm. At present I have 15 made and I can’t pick a favorite, I love all of them.
It is cloudy and drab here today. I think I will do a little bit of sewing this morning and then go to the old house this afternoon and continue this clean out process.
You know, after we manage to get everything out of the house…. then there is a lot of fix up
    to be done.
Have a super happy fun day today, please do fun things and laugh a lot.

Great progress on the house clean out. I’m not looking forward to that at all. And congrats on squeezing in time to work on the geese/goslings and quilting too. Good for you!

      1. I whimpered and whined a lot each day. “I do not like doing this anymore”
“this is so awful” “this is just terrible” etc etc. – just a lot of useless complaining.
When our children are 70, they will have robots do all of this work

I’m not sure I’d be up to doing all you are doing in your old house but how nice you can take your time doing it. It’s amazing the stuff that will accumulate if you live somewhere long enough.

      1. Oh we have a lot to get done, but first we need to get our stuff out of there. Then we can pay ppl to do the other stuff like paint clean, clean up the yard, spiff up the place etc etc

So glad you have a pic of the yard after your work, but I still would have loved to see a pic of Jeanne on the mower zooming by. So much work. Perhaps, she was gripping the side of the steering wheel so hard that she broke those nails on her left hand? Or pushing the panic button to stop? No, that would have been me for sure. Maybe she can get a screenshot from the movie on George’s phone? Anyway, can’t imagine doing that many steps as it spells total exhaustion to me. Good job Jeanne. And the yard looks lush.
Ten Ping is all ready for spring. So sweet and her pup is a darling little guy. What a fun table and tea set just their size too. Great props and photos. I love the one of Baxter sitting by the shoes. 🙂
Here, the weather has been great. Cool in the morning but heating up in the afternoons. In fact actually hot yesterday in the high 80’s. But, in the shade, very pleasant. Still working everyday on the weeds. Finally cleared the big thornless rosebush and Iris area. I have one iris in bloom. Hope that there are more. And the yellow delicious apple tree is in full bloom. Lots of bees too pollinating, so hoping for lots of apples come September, if all goes well. However, we may be getting some rain which will definitely put a damper on the crop.
Some delightful swim shorts arrived from Illinois, on Saturday. They are exceptionally well made and will be so fun for my Ruby Red boys. I might have to take them to the coast for some supervised wading. The water is way too cold for any swimming at this time of year and dangerous too unless you are visiting a protected beach and wearing a wetsuit. Might be a fun drive out there though. It’s been awhile since our last trip. I’d love to pick up a couple of crab sandwiches and scout the horizon for whales spouting. 🙂

Oh, Joy, your trip to the coast sounds like it would be so much fun. And crab sandwiches. YUM!!

Dear Jeanne, Yu Ping is adorable. Pink is definitely her color. I can see that she and Baxter are good friends.

Dear Jeanne and my Sofa Sisters,

I forgot to note that today (March 30) is American Plangonologist Day. Grab your favorite doll and give her or him a big hug to celebrate, maybe even dance around the house a bit (smile).

My dolls bring me so much joy. I know that yours do as well.

      1. Barbara in SE Texas

I had never heard the word before so had to look it up. I love word etymology and was very interested to see what the origin of the word was. Thanks for adding another word to my mental lexicon.

From Ancient Greek πλαγγών (plangṓn, “(wax) doll”) + -ologist.

        Noun
        plangonologist (plural plangonologists)

(very rare) A person who collects dolls.

        1. Dorothy in PA and the World

Dear Barbara, I am glad you like the word. I do as well. I wish I knew how to pronounce it (laugh).

      2. Joy in northern CA

Clueless here, so I looked it up. : Plangonologist (a person who collects dolls) is pronounced plan-gun-OL-uh-jist. The emphasis is placed on the third syllable, “OL,” which sounds like “doll,” preceded by “plan” and followed by “uh-jist,” making it sound somewhat like “playing anologist”. 🙂

        1. Dorothy in PA and the World

Dear Joy, thanks for this information. I knew about the word but I didn’t know until today that there was a group celebrating it. If I am not mistaken, one can get mugs and tee shirts on etsy that display the word. I will have to at least find a tee shirt to wear to my local doll club meeting.

  7. Sissy Lingle on the GA coast

We are back and wanting for a guy to come check out the things I need cleaning up in the yard. I hope he want too much money…..!

Jeanne, your yard is so beautiful, sorry about your finger nails. Mine are always short because I got in the habit when I was working in clay. I know George is mighty grateful and also very proud of you.

  8. Barbara in SE Texas

Jeanne, I love your yard and you did a great job with the mowing. The chickens are so pretty. Sorry about your fingernails. I keep mine short because they are not as strong these days as they once were and I do so much with my hands that they would always be breaking.

YuPing’s outfit has turned out adorable. I love, love, love the shoes. Too, too cute. The sweater is so sweet. YuPing definitely looks good in pink. The tiny props are cute too. And Baxter is precious and such a perfect size for YuPing.
