Hi everyone,
Don’t get your hopes up…
No sewing was involved, but safety pins, fabric and an iron were used.
My hubby called me and said he needed some pockets on his hospital gown…to put his Nephrostomy tubes in when he was trying to brush his teeth or wash his face. He said he had it all figured out. Two 8″ x 8″ cotton pockets safety pinned to his gown.
I cut out 2 squares, folded the edges under and iron them, then gathered up lots of safety pins. Here’s what they looked like. The nurses loved them!!
See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

Well, it’s good to see George standing up! I’m sorry he’s still in the hospital, but I am feeling a bit more hopeful now.
The hospital-gown company should be consulting with you, Jeanne! I’ll bet you and George could give them several helpful ideas!
When I saw my PCP a week ago Thursday, I told her I hadn’t fallen in about three months, and we celebrated! (I have problems with small falls where I land on my knees, usually–various causes, but they don’t help my bad knees at all!) It seems I spoke in haste. This past week, I fell twice, both times landing on my knees. (BUT…that second time, I didn’t drop the glass of milk I was carrying! Only a few drops slopped out!! 😂) When I mentioned it to my son on Friday, he asked why I hadn’t said anything Thursday when we were with the group at IHOP, and I said I didn’t want to worry our friends, which he understood. Then I asked if he would be free on Saturday to help me with cleaning our church (it’s a very small church, so we take turns cleaning). Sat. morning he called–he would be at my house shortly. We went over to the church after lunch, and he vacuumed the entire sanctuary and entryway for me, AND stayed while I worked on my music! (I think he was afraid I’d fall at church while all alone….). Afterwards, I dropped him at the bus stop before I came home.
I haven’t been back in my sewing room for a few days; still trying to decide about those blocks. Table runner or small quilt? Small quilt or table runner? Decisions, decisions….
Oh, and my friend Leah, who I’m teaching to sew, has the hem of her new top all pressed up and pinned, and ready to sew, but since it’s a curved, shirttail hem, she is waiting until I can be there. I think she’s feeling a little nervous about tackling a “new” technique. I’ll go over there Thursday or Friday to oversee that step, and then we’ll plan what her next sewing project will be. She went to that big sale in August, and bought a bunch of patterns and some fabric, and is excited to be sewing, and making things she can really wear!!
