Fourth of July “Doll Fashion Frenzy” for Fun!

HI everyone,

Just another reminder that tonight the miniature Bicycle is ending on Ebay… It might work for some dolls you have. It’s 1:6 scale… which is about perfect for the Little Darlings…

Here is the link to that listing… Roadmaster Miniature bicycle

I thought I’d give the “selling” a rest for a day or two and show some sweet 4th of July dolly dresses and outfits! That’s what this blog is supposed to be about anyway! You’re going to like these…. :o) All the girls are dressed in their Finest Fourth of July Fashions! Wait till you see!

Susette sent these pictures… Doesn’t Samantha look sweet? I forgot to ask Susette if she made the girls dresses? Maybe she’ll tell us…

Hannah and Stella are letting their patriotism show and it looks good on them! :o)

Next up are some pictures from Sissy…(It’s really nice having you back in the group again, Sissy!) These are 2 dress sets she made for her My Meadow Mae doll… She’s 15″ tall and she looks SO good in the red white and blue colors!

Linda is up next with her wonderful array of outfits on her dolls.

Jeanne, here are the dolls I mentioned in the blog today. They are 6” Hallmark’s Famous American dolls I found on EBay. I bought the ones that I had the closest outfits that I could find for the 40’s girls to match.

First is Molly in her aviator outfit with her Amelia Earhart doll.

Next is Susan with Annie Oakley.

Then, Ruthie with the Molly Pitcher doll.

Last, but not least is Betsy, dressed as Anne of Green Gables, with a different type doll, a Heritage doll!

And now for the Big Bang for the 4th!

Happy Fourth of July to all!
Love to you,
Linda💕🎆

Thanks everyone… I enjoyed seeing some dolls again…
I think tomorrow I’ll show some of my favorite Patriotic dresses… that many of you out there own! :o) Thanks so much!
Blessings, Jeanne

It’s such a delight to see everyone’s dolls dressed up for the 4th of July!! Hm, maybe I will get a chance to dress up a couple of my dolls tomorrow.

Thanks to all who shared pictures! (I have Molly’s aviator costume, too; it’s been quite a while since she last wore it, though. Hm….)

  2. I always love to see the pictures sent in by the sofa girls and their special outfits for various events! Thank you girls!! Such an array of Patriotic outfits and everyone looks so cute in them.
I’ve been pretty busy lately and even if I don’t always comment, I do read Jeanne’s wonderful blog each day at some point.
It’s fun and always so interesting!

    What fun today, Jeanne!

Susette, your dolls are adorable, and I love those darling dresses! I wish little girls dressed like that now, but all I see are shorts and tee shirts! Your pictures are so clear and colorful!

Sissy, your little My Meadow Mae is just plain adorable with those short curly locks! I just love those sweet dresses, especially that last one! Even her puppy is ready for the Fourth!

Thank you both, Susette and Sissy, for sharing your dolls with us!

So much fun today. Seeing all of the dolls takes my mind off the temperature rising here today. Yesterday, it was a record 106 and today way cooler expected at 103. We managed to stay cool enough, but had to venture out on errands and me to water the yard and early, blow off the front steps, patio, and driveway. The accumulation of sycamore snow, leaves, and needles from the now almost deceased juniper were driving me crazy. I was a dripping dirty mess when I was done, but it looked so much nicer. And we don’t have a humidity problem here, I was just hot. Then there was a smoke problem as there was a fire the next county over in Napa. Everyone is on edge for sure.
Loved seeing Susette’s Ruby Reds in their 4th finery. Wow what a sharp pic. Was that from your phone? Because I’ve been having nothing but trouble trying to get a sharp pic with mine lately. They look sharp but when sent to my email and saved on my computer, the resolution changes. I tried sending them at a higher resolution and that did not help at all. Something is off and I’m not sure what it is. Anyway, Susette’s garden pots brimming with those wonderful displays she makes, and Samantha, all set for the big boom day were also fun to view. Thanks for sharing.
Sissy’s Mae, looks so cute in her great 4th outfits. Love them both. Is that a ball she is sitting on in the first pic? Cute. And love the pup with the hat and the vintage print fabric in the other pic. 🙂 So glad you sent Jeanne pics.
I liked seeing Linda’s so perfectly attired girls with their Hallmark littles. And Betsy makes a great Anne of Green Gables. Love that outfit. The girls in the display for the 4th couldn’t be cuter. Great outfits and accessories. Thanks so much for sharing.
Thanks Jeanne for sharing the pics today. Really lifted my spirits. 🙂

Joy, thank you for loving my Mae outfits, and yes, that is a tiny blow up beach ball she is sitting on. Also I love the fabric with the vintage prints, I have them for Easter and Thanksgiving, too.

I am sorry for your heat. It reminds me of the time I went to Greeley, CO for a 2 week science workshop. We went to a rodeo over the weekend and the temp was 110. I saw a couple of people faint! However, since the weather was so dry it didn’t feel any worse than here in the 90’s with the humidity! I remember I carried liquid with me wherever I went, though!

Be safe in the heat, Joy. We’ve been in the 90s for the most part which is really odd for us. There’s a heat advisory today and the nuts are sitting down in Columbus for “Red, White, and Boom” tonight and some have been there since 3PM yesterday. We have wonderful local 4th tomorrow with a parade, outdoor symphony concert, and fireworks. We used to go every year, but haven’t been in a few now.

I love Susette’s and Linda’s dolls photos! The patriotic outfits are so adorable and Linda’s dolls with their matching little ones are so cute. Thank y’all so much for sharing! Happy Fourth of July!

I did comment yesterday and sent it as I left for lunch. When I got back I discovered it had not gone. It said something about it taking too long. Lately I have been copying the comment before sending but unfortunately I didn’t yesterday and I did not have the wherewithal to recreate it, mostly because I couldn’t remember what all I said.

But I do remember I commented on the wonderful wedding. I love it when people live life to the fullest as long as they can. Lovely bride and handsome groom. And the picture of the two couples was great and definitely one for displaying.

I have managed to get all my dolly girls who have patriotic outfits dressed but I didn’t think to take pictures. But I sure did enjoy the ones from Susette, Sissy and Linda. They all look so lovely and ready to celebrate the holiday. I never realized how many miniature dolls there were. I never heard of any of them. Betsy is an adorable Anne of Green Gables, and Mae has the most amazing balance for a child her age. Too cute! Love the last picture. Great display for the 4th.

We will celebrate the 4th as we have the past two years. We go to Sean’s and Dionne cooks her wonderful stroganoff, then we watch a movie until it gets dark and then we gather up the sparklers, etc. and head for the end of their driveway. They live in the county so it’s legal. When the fireworks run out we head for home. Unfortunately for them their neighbors continue this the whole night through. It’s ridiculous not to mention fiercely expensive. We live in the city so legally cannot do them but that falls on deaf ears of many of our neighbors and they go on into the night. I have missed the commercial fireworks we used to go to, but Sean and Dionne would rather do this and we like spending time with them. But on our way home some of the commercial displays are still going on and we pass a few of them so we do get to see some pretty finales.

Such fun pictures today. Susette, your Samantha and Rubies look so festive. Love your fairy houses behind.
Sissy, so glad you’re finally back on the sofa. Your Mae is just precious in both outfit, but I absolutely love the second one. her sweet pup is ready to join in the fun. Linda, as usual your dolls are dressed holiday appropriate with wonderful accompanying accessories. Everyone looks very sweet. Ruthie makes a charming colonial girl. Those famous American dolls are very cute. Of course, Annie Oakley was an Ohio girl!
Love Betsy’s dress and her darling Anne of Green Gables doll. I’ve loved Anne since I met her as a young child of eight, reading the books every summer for years. Those movies and “Road to Avonlea” are some of my absolute favorites.

  9. Susette from Southern California

Yes, I made the dress for Samantha but the RRFF dresses are from eBay or Etsy. I take pictures with my cellphone. These were taken before I got a new phone recently.

Sissy’s dolls are just darling. The prints are just the right scale for the size of the dolls. So cute. Thanks for sharing.

Linda’s collection is so complete! Everyone has their individual little details like pets and tiny dolls and dishes! Thanks to you for sharing also. I really enjoy seeing pictures of other people’s dolls.

I haven’t shared comments about the weather because it’s been beautiful here since we’re past May Gray and two weeks of June Gloom. I live about five miles back from the ocean in Garden Grove and a breeze comes in off the Pacific and heads back out again about ten miles south of here which keeps it mild. The president of the Orchid Society said the climate here in a ten mile strip is like that in Chiang Mai in Thailand, the orchid capital of the world! It’s warmer even at Disneyland which is just about three miles farther inland. All ten climatic zones are here between the ocean and the mountains which are 70 miles inland. Wish I could send a breeze Joy’s way for 4th of July ! 🇺🇸💫💥🌟☄️⚡️
