I almost forgot to write a blog post

I was so busy tonight getting the listings at the side bar (I did MUCH better tonight than last night!) that I almost forgot I needed to write a post. You may have seen a quick glance at the Bitty Baby I had… she only lasted a short while before someone used the Buy It Now and snatched her up… so she’s gone.

I have the 4 new listings ready for Thursday evening and I thought I’d give you a few hints about them. They will go on at 8:30, 8:34, 8:38 and 8:42. As soon as they are activated on Ebay, I will list a picture at the right sidebar on my blog. Click the picture to be taken to Ebay and that pictures auction.

One is purple and it goes fast!

One is seen at a hospital!

A second item is purple, but this time it has some sparkle to it!

And last you’ll see not one, but 2 dolls!

Now I didn’t want to have a post without any pictures, and my sister Cindy rescued me… she took some pictures of a doll booth in the same Antique Mall she sells at.

I might share a picture or two each night for awhile as I’m listing things. If you click on the pictures they will enlarge.

I LOVE the red coat on this next doll. It’s SO cute!

Okay, who can tell me the names of these dolls? Anyone know?

Well, it’s bedtime for me…
See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

Wow, that is some bidding war on Felicity!!

That big baby doll is sure a sweetie. I seem to remember seeing a doll like that when I was a child, but never had one. They would have been too expensive, I’m sure. My dad was a pastor of two small churches in a farming community/small town setting, and his salary wasn’t exactly big. And of course back then mom didn’t “work”!!

Oh, yes, I love that red coat. That doll looks familiar, too, but I’m drawing a blank at the moment. I’m sure as soon as someone identifies her, there will be a head slap…

I had Ron out Tuesday, and even brought him home for a little while. He got up and down our stairs quite well. He’s still not strong enough to walk much with just canes, though, so no coming home yet. Maybe transition to assisted living for a while, though, since he has gained Some strength after 4+ months of PT!

    1. HI Charlotte,
The first pictures Cindy sent me was too small, so she re-sent them and they are much bigger and clearer…
When the picture came back from Cindy, I could read the tag on the doll in the red coat. She is a Madame Alexander doll… and I see someone below in the comments, found the exact doll for sale.

I’m happy that your hubby got to come home for a visit… My mom liked to come over to our house, but in the end, we had to stop bringing her because it caused problems when she had to go back. I hated that…
But I’m glad he had a nice time at home…

And I almost forgot to write a comment! I’m having company today and so much to do! Made those little cheesecakes with cherry pie filling and whipped cream at 4 this morning! Now to write something for the blog.

I also positively love that darling red coat! I am one who has a coat for every doll, even dressy and play ones! I just love doll coats! The leopard hat and purse really add to it! I think that could be a Cissy doll, but Cissy dolls have high heels on, and I don’t think she does. So maybe something else, made by Madame Alexander. I’m no expert!

The baby doll is sweet too, although my baby dolls were always Betsy Wetsy, the more water you gave her, the better! I always give mine too much water and it was coming out of her arm and leg joints, and of course all over everything! My mother had a fit!

I had better get going as I have much to do. In spite of you not quite sewing for the time being, Jeanne, you have managed to do a very good job of keeping the blog going with such interesting things! And I love to hear about what the sofa sisters are up to!!

    1. HI Linda,
I hope you had a nice day with your company. I know what you mean about being too busy with too much to do. We had my hubby’s niece and her hubby stop by our house and we went out for dinner. I was in cleaning mode and everything else mode today… It all got done and we had a nice time.
I can just see you as a little girl, filling your Betsy Wetsy with as much water as she could possibly hold… (until she “couldn’t” hold it anymore.
      Thanks Linda,
      Blessings, Jeanne

I really do love that red coat. I would like to see it made for a Ruby Red doll, although maybe a little shorter. Would be so cute on one of the girls for the still cold weather of January. 🙂 Please thank Cindy for sharing.
We’re in for some frosty weather the next few days, so I’ll will be back to covering my porch plants overnight.
Hope everyone is staying well and healthy. Lots of respiratory stuff going around everywhere right now.

    1. HI Joy, I do like the style of that coat too… I might have to try and draft a pattern for a RRFF one.
We were out to dinner tonight and it’s pretty nippy outside here too.
I’m ready for Spring… oh dear… we haven’t even had one day of snowfall yet…
      Thanks Joy,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  4. Sissy Lingle on the GA coast

We are vacationing in Helen, GA, in the GA mountains. We come every year for 2 weeks of just lovely rest and quiet. It is cold, but sunshine every day so far. We put bird seed out on the balcony and love watching birds we don’t see at home and some that are regulars.
Jeanne, you are inspiring me to get busy with selling so much I have at home and that i have been just lazy about. That will be my New Year’s resolution.
    Happy New year Y’all.

    1. HI Sissy,
I have had big plans for all these things I’ve wanted to sell, and I’ll tell you “just starting” is the hardest part… I’m not using the program I use when I normally sell my doll clothes…just Ebay’s simple listing template. So far, I’ve been happy. The pictures are big and I can type all I need to say down below… I’m happy with how it’s working.
I hope you are enjoying your time still. It sounds wonderful.
      Thanks Sissy,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  5. Joy Lynne Carter

The ‘red coat,’ could it be a Terri Lee doll? Just a thought…. since I have one that’s almost as old as I am☺️

    1. HI Joy,
When Cindy sent me a new and bigger and clearer picture of the doll, I could see the hangtag said Madame Alexander… and then someone else on here found the exact same doll for sale.
      Thanks Joy,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  6. The MA Binnie Walker doll is sweet and I love the red coat. She looks a lot like my mom’s MA “Maggie” doll. Dusting of snow this morning and icy places on the sidewalk so a morning walk was out.
So Nellie is moving on. It will be interesting to see who else leaves the doll cabinet.

    1. Hi Laura,
I was answering all the comments and when I got to yours and Dorothy’s, after I hit submit, it said, Nonce Verification Required.
I have no idea what that means, but I just got out of the blog… came back and now it seems fine.
Yes, Nellie is leaving. I was secretly hoping she might not sell, but she is, so I’ll be saying goodbye to her. I just wasn’t reaching for her as often and my dolly cabinet is pretty full. I hope she finds a nice home. She is a very lovely doll.
      Blessings, Jeanne
