My Meadow, Twinkle Bailey, gets FOUR more new things today…

First a reminder:
The “Colonial Stroll” set for American Girl Felicity, ends this evening on Ebay! I hope you’ll take a peek, if you haven’t seen in yet. You can click the picture at the right side bar, or you can click HERE. Felicity is going to be SO sad… but I’ll break it to her tonight… then when she wakes up, maybe she will have forgotten about the dress. (NOT!)

Okay, so I have 4 NEW things to show you today! Some of you guessed what I was making… Just wait!!!

For starters, I made Bailey a pair of teeny tiny Thigh Highs! They are an oatmeal color and just slide up her legs. Then I decided she needed a pair of panties, so she got pink lacy ones.

I also changed the shoe laces in her boots to a green waxed thread. When you tie them the wax is a little “grippier” and sticks together making them stay tied better.

I had another piece of fabric that went very well with the small print I made her dress from. In fact, I couldn’t decide which print I wanted to use for her jumper, SO… I just decided to make ANOTHER jumper…

It’s a different style but looks so sweet on Bailey…

Okay, so you’ve seen IT… Linda and Conni were rooting for “something” and I decided to make my first ever SUITCASE! After I saw Linda’s comments this morning, I Googled a few video’s and found one I really liked, and decided “why couldn’t I make one of those?” So I did, and I had SO much fun doing it! I had that fabric that was kind of like a vintage grass cloth, which a lot of sewing machine cases were made out of.

I used some of my VERY soft and thin dark brown leather from Dianna Effner, to make the corner pieces.

It opens up and can carry things inside…

Just to show it to you with the green jumper…

Want to see what Bailey has in her suitcase?

I looked up what books Anne of Green Gables liked to read and these were 2 of them… Jane Eyre and Frankenstein 1818 Text… so I made 2 little books for her.

Here are 2 more pictures of her with the suitcase.

So now the set consists of the panties, thigh highs, leather boots, straw hat, dress, green jumper, rose jumper, suitcase and books.

Well, I hope you enjoyed those pictures. She is SO SO adorable… She seems so lifelike and when I look down at her on my cutting table, she looks like a REAL little girl sitting on that bench! It’s kind of strange how it makes me feel.

I will see you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

I was going to wait until Charlotte wrote, and maybe she is now, but I just HAD to write to say how ADORABLE Bailey looks sitting there on the bench with her little suitcase! I just knew it was the perfect little accessory for this! It looks like she just arrived at the train station and is waiting for Uncle George (!) to pick her up and take her to Grandma’s house! So cute!

I love the second little jumper too, and now she has three outfits in one!

Wow, those panties! Really a show stopper! (ha, ha!)

Concerning that last picture, Jeanne, you know what she is doing…trying to charm you into staying right there with you! I think what will really happen is that she will charm someone else to get that outfit!

Here I am, Linda! I’m not sure if you’re a little earlier than usual, or I am a little later.

Jeanne, this outfit is absolutely darling. I love the new jumper, too (I was thinking she could wear the pink one in the spring and the green one in the fall), and all her little accessories are just perfect. You did a wonderful job on that suitcase! So now you are a luggage maker as well as cobbler, seamstress, and milliner!! And the books…Jane Eyre is my absolute favorite book ever, and I have read it probably at least 6 or 7 times (the last time was three years ago), as well as having seen the various movies multiple times.

Now I am REALLY wishing I had a Twinkle!! However, I consoled myself by purchasing some new shoes for my Ruby Red girls; they are having a big sale right now on core dolls (all but Jada and Ella), outfits, and accessories–20% off–plus free shipping! This is at Ruby Red Toys.

Joy, so glad to hear another dolly caper is in the books!!

You’ve certainly got the cuteness factor mastered with this outfit and accessories! Always expanding your talents. Congratulations on another wonderful ensemble. I don’t have a Twinkles either but this little face would be my choice.

Oh, perfection! Great outfit and fun accessories. I especially like the thigh highs with the boots. And that travel case is wonderful. I love that it opens as well. What a great representation of Anne traveling to her new home. That said, we haven’t heard from Anne in New Zealand is awhile. Hope all is okay.

    Hi All
Joy, sorry I have been missing for a while. Sam is working now so there is more for me to do at home now. Unfortunately I did something to my back, think a disc slipped so that slowed me down for a couple of days. Seeing the doctor today, so, of course my back is much better today. I need to go anyway to get a prescription for my pain killers. Unfortunately can’t get them on repeat now, I have to get a new prescription each month which is a pain in itself. Weaning myself off them gradually as they are very addictive, nasty side effects when you stop taking them too quickly (ask me how I know).
Sam’s new job is with Creative Junk where she was working as a volunteer. She loves it, as well as looking after customers etc she has to come up with ideas for workshops and sometimes go out to talk to schools and Kindy’s about the stuff and what they can make with it or rather what the kids can make with it. She and I were discussing a Sustainable Market and her boss thought it was a great idea. The idea is that they have people selling products they have made from stuff that otherwise might have gone into landfill. Or organisations like the Toy Library where they hire out toys.
I hope you have a great day everyone, have my patchwork and quilting meeting this morning so need to get ready early.

Oh, so sad to hear about the slipped disc. Can be miserable, but glad that you are recovering well and heading off the meds.
How fun for Sam to work at Creative Junk. I’m sure she has some amazing projects for the kids in those workshops. I would love to see some of the things she does with the junk. 🙂
      Take care.

    2. Hi Anne,
I told myself I was NOT going to bed until I commented on your comment. I’m so sorry you have been hit with another ailment of sorts. Back pain is no fun at all and nothing to let slide. I hope they can figure out something to give you some relief.

That Creative Junk place where Sam works sounds like it is right up my alley! I bet she has lots of fun there!
Thanks too, for your kind comments about Bailey’s outfit. It was so much fun to make all those pieces for her.
      Thanks for chiming in Anne,
We miss you and hope you’ll be back soon on a regular basis.
      Blessings, Jeanne

Jeanne, I should have said how very cute Bailey is. I just love the whole outfit and am in awe how you make such beautiful items on such a small scale. The suitcase is just amazing but so is everything else. Someone’s dolly is going to be a very happy little girl, though Bailey might not be so happy when she has to give the outfit up!

  7. Sissy Lingle on the GA coast

Jeanne, definitely one of your best, cutest overload! Perfect Anne of Green Gables look. Just great!

  8. I am so amazed at everything that completes this ensemble. The suitcase just makes the whole little story come together! Panties and stockings on that tiny girl are sweet.
The pinkish fabric changes the look…like a whole new outfit! Meadows are in a class by themselves! This should be a fantastic auction.

  9. I missed yesterday, but Bailey is certainly trying to be a brunette blue-eyed version of Anne! The hat is just darling as well as each pinafore. I also thought the green pinafore for now and the rose for early spring.
The suitcase is too cute and the books are great. I love Jane Eyre and have read it a number of times starting in freshman high school English class. My favorite movie version is the 1943 with an uncredited Elizabeth Taylor.
So nice to hear from you. Anne. I hope your back continues to improve. Sam’s new job sounds like a lot of fun.

  10. It’s absolutely perfect! The new jumper is beautiful, and the suitcase goes with the outfit so well. Going to Grandma’s, just as Linda said yesterday. And Jane Eyre? My favorite book EVER!

  11. Ha Ha !
She IS adorable! The first thing I thought of when I saw her was my granddaughter! Not that she actually LOOKS like my granddaughter, but that she’s (almost) as adorable (I was also thinking you don’t have any grandchildren (YET) so you have to make do with your dolls! LOL!)
