More sewing for Lian’s, Bunny in my Pocket dress set!

The two things I accomplished aren’t huge, but nonetheless, I was able to carve out a little bit of sewing time, and bit by bit, I’m closer to getting this dress set listed on Ebay! By the way, did you see the end of Frieda’s “Vibrant in Violets” on Ebay? I was astounded and very happy at the same time! Gotta love my customers! If you’re watching, thank you so much to the one who won this set!

Now, back to Lian’s purple dress… with that bunny in her pocket.

I made a pair of thigh high’s in a lavender ribbed knit. (It was one of my new “panties” I bought last week…) They worked wonderfully!

I even left the Hane’s trademark at the top of them, instead of stitching my own elastic on… I think they look kind of cute this way…

Here they are next to the fabric…

I also did a little “threadwork” in the entredeux in the lace, using one of the colors in the fabric, to run some embroidery floss through. It just snazzes up the sleeve cuffs a little bit… I tied the thread into tiny little bows…

I used some Fray Check on the bows to keep them looking like they do now…

I still need to work on my lighting some more… this purple color is not going to get the best of me…

There is still more to come… just hang on!

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

LIan’s dress is coming along beautifully, and I do love her thigh-highs. So cute, that the branded elastic was the right width so they would work for her stocking tops!!

Barbara, I answered your question to me in yesterday’s blog.

Kathie, I haven’t had a chance to get someone in to give us an estimate on the bath remodel just yet, so if//when it happens, it will probably be later on. I do want to see if I can at least get a stair lift installed for him while he’s gone, though–and there’s some other stuff I need to do to make it easier for him to navigate in the house. I just have had no time to do anything but the basics, in such a long time.

Charlotte, I went back and read your reply from yesterday. Sorry, I thought you were familiar with the Lutterloh system and thank you for taking the time to give me a reply. The Lutterloh system has thumb nail pictures of the pattern with an extrapolation point. I haven’t used mine yet because I’m trying to reduce my measurements and hope my rowing machine will help with that. Due to my mishap with my furry friend a couple years ago, until recently I haven’t been able to walk well enough to go walking as I used to and it shows. The two measurements that are used for the system are bust and hip and you use a special measuring tape to enlarge the pattern using those measurements. That’s why I was thinking it might be used for doll clothes since the thumb nails are very small. Some of their children’s patterns are cute and very European in design. Anyway maybe when I get back in my sewing room – soon I hope – I will give one a try and see how it works out.

Everything is ocming along so well, Jeanne! I love the puffed sleeves with the sweet bows tied on them! They certainly do dress up the sleeves!

The lavender thigh highs are cute, and the color matches so well, but I would prefer white ones. Maybe you could do two different pair for this set? Of course anyone could use thights or thigh highs that they already have too. Are the shoes included with it?

Oh, my gosh, that Ebay sale last night was really something! Congratulations on that!

  3. Congratulations on Vibrant in Violets, I knew it would go big, it is hard to imagine that a dolls outfit can bring such a price! It was adorable. Next one is very cute too.

I like how the thigh highs turned out. Good call on using the elastic panti top. 🙂
Congrats on Freida’s outfit. Someone will be thrilled when it arrives. 🙂
Lots of rain around here last night so many road closures. At least it is warmer today. We’re not used to the cold.
Have a great weekend everyone. 🙂

I was thinking about you this morning and wondering if you had much cold usually where you live. I know it’s different than southern California but I can’t remember you talking much about it being cold where you are until this year. But there is a light at the end of the tunnel for all of us. Then we’ll probably all be saying that it’s too hot. I know I will be.

We’re usually pretty moderate as we are only 20 miles from the coast. Snow is rare, but it is on the hills now. After that hot spell last fall, don’t want to experience that again. I think we’ll have to head to someplace much cooler or get a hotel with air conditioning. Hard to believe it was so hot now with the cold we’re having. Kind of funny, but someone took a video of a winery owner skiing down a hill between the grapevines. 🙂

Congratulations on last night. That outfit had many cute pieces and included a large range of skills — it deserved a good auction.

The new dress is coming beautifully. The sleeves are especially cute. Your lighting may not be what you want yet, but even so, the dress looks like a best seller to me.

Wow!! What a successful night you had with your auction. I would have had to bow out well before the end. I couldn’t bid this time around because I have spent a year’s worth of dolly money in the past month. I would love to have the shoes that went with this set – and the purse. I have no expertise in those areas at all.

Lian’s outfit is coming along beautifully. I love the thigh highs and the fact that you could use the Hanes trademark at the top. Your pictures look good to me. I think I may have that fabric in more than one color (fat quarters). I need to take a look. Seeing it rings a bell. I love what you’ve done with the sleeves using embroidery floss. I have a dress I plan to make for my Boneka and it requires entredeux in the skirt. I think I’ll give it the embroidery floss treatment and see how it looks. i can always pull it out if I don’t like it, but I think I will. I like the idea of using fray check to keep the ends of the bow together. I love the square neck on this dress and the trim along the bottom. Looks like another winner to me.

  7. Love everything about this dress. Those thigh highs are the cutest…anything on her is adorable:) Holy Moly last nights auction was amazing! Maybe the buyer would send you a picture of her doll in it?
Hope you have a great time at your Doll Conference Charlotte!
hope Spring comes quick! Have a good weekend everyone

  8. Congratulations on the great sale of the doll outfit last night! I think your sewing is amazing. Each and every outfit has such special touches. I enjoy peeking in on your blog to see what comes next.

    1. Thank you Sandra!
I’m glad to have you “peek in” on me whenever you can! Thank you for your kind compliments on my sewing! I have been doing it a long time! I’m glad it shows!
      Blessings, Jeanne
