Meet Violette, my newest Ruby Red Fashion Friends doll…

Hi everyone,
I am still tidying up in my sewing room, but couldn’t wait any longer to share my newest acquisition!…In other words, my newest doll! :o) She was a birthday present and a real cutie! I’m very fortunate to have found one. I believe there were only 130 manufactured and they were a limited edition only sold from the UK… I didn’t even know she existed until I saw her on the Ruby Red Fashion Friends Fanclub (Official) forum… EVERYONE seemed to be looking for her and I just so happened to see a post from a lady selling her. Actually, right at the same time, someone emailed me that they had seen one for sale. I had never done an International transaction, but the lady was very nice and walked me through it. It’s a little silly to say, but I really fell hard for her… I don’t know what it was about her, but she just stole my heart… She’s not a smiling doll, but she doesn’t look sad to me. Her skin tone is divine; a sort of olive color and she has the prettiest green eyes. Her hair is a bit wild, but I love it… I’ve had her since the day after Rebecca and Karn got here. Karn took a video of me opening the box… you’ll see it below…

I sold her outfit to someone who wanted the outfit, but didn’t need the doll… Winners for both of us. The pieces to this set were incredible… immaculately sewn and such little miniature works of art, really!! Violette came nude, so I never saw her in the outfit, but left the pieces in the bags for the buyer to open.

Who’s ready to see Violette?

Here are the pieces to her outfit… her tiny plaid pants, with WELT pockets in the back, and tiny belt loops… the detail is incredible! You can see her tiny necklace in the package.

Her white button down shirt was equally as impressive! It was as nice as any expensive blouse you could buy…

She came with a teal knitted vest and hat…

Her boots and purse are just adorable… Since I’m doing some leather shoes, I HAD to take the boots out and look at the details on them… VERY SWEET!

Her purse was adorable too…

This is what she looked like in her outfit… there is a full length picture of her on the box she came in.

Her hair has loosened up somewhat since I removed her from the box… it’s not a hairstyle to brush or comb, but just finger style…

Her toes are so cute…

I only have a few size 8-9 wigs, but I couldn’t resist trying some on her.

Here is the video of me opening her box…

I think she’s going to make a beautiful model and I already have her first outfit figured out… :o)

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

Congratulations on the newest addition to your “family”, Jeanne! She is beautiful! What with your eye surgery, etc., you really needed a special treat, and Violette is definitely it!

I’m wondering how you are going to pronounce her name. It seems like it should be “vee-oh-LET”, or possibly “vi-oh-LET-tah”, but of course you could just call her “VI-oh-let”, which would be the Americanized way, I suppose.

I’ve got things sorted out in my laundry room (and even did two loads of wash!) so hopefully I’m ready for the plumber. The other thing I did was to go thru all my Annalee dolls (those cute seasonal felt “dolls” I collect, and occasionally display), and got them sorted and stored more according to type now. I even found a 4th of July figure I’d totally forgotten about, holding an American flag! I’ll have to look at it again–maybe I could still use it for Veteran’s Day. The next one to come out, though, is the little boy in a tiger costume for Halloween. I bought him in the gift shop of the hospital where our first grandson (Isaac) was born–almost 21 years ago, now!

So another pretty little doll has joined your family, Jeanne! She really is sweet looking and more pensive than sad. Lots of little girls are like that. I think I was more the type to be “thinking” about things, and not necessarily smiling all the time, so I can understand her not smiling.

Her hair looks fun to style with your fingers, and she does take to different wigs very well! Love her green eyes, I have green eyes too!

What darling detailed clothes she has, or rather had!😊. I think that is a LOT of the draw to RRFF dolls, but with your expertise, she will soon be wearing an outfit just as nice, or maybe nicer! I’m sure we will be seeing a lot of Violette in the future!

    1. Violette is a sweetie! What a great BD gift!
Can’t wait to see what you have in mind for her. Curly hair and green eyes are a fun combination. RRFF owners do love to dress their dolls so she should be a great addition to your family.
Hope you NW Sofa Sisters get to cool off soon😵‍💫 We have wind today with smoke from Idaho…hopefully rain this weekend…we are-5”. 😵‍💫

  3. She is a darling, Jeanne. Very pretty with a sweet face. Just like a little girl model would have. Her outfit was very cute.
I’m sure she’ll fit right in with your other models. I really like her blond curly hair too.

I’ve been visiting my sisters in another state. Having fun and yakking our heads off. Heading home tomorrow. I don’t get to see them as often as I’d like.

By the way, we’ve seen you in several pictures over the years but it’s always interesting when we hear your voice.
    Enjoy your new little model!!

So, RRFF’s answer to AG’s Evette. I found an AG-sized “Hair” (the musical) tee, and I think I’ll get it for Evette.

So Violetta is up next. This should be fun. I found a new source for inspiration on Etsy. https://www.etsy.com/shop/Friends4Keeps?ref=simple-shop-header-name&listing_id=1021431983&page=7#items
23 pages of paper dolls — some period and many international ones. A color printer would be desirable for someone with daughters or granddaughters to entertain, but not so much for a designer. Some are 20’s, of course, since I’ve been nagging you about a 20’s AG outfit.

Oh — a reminder that the new AG’s are online this morning, along with new meet outfits.

How lucky Jeanne was able to purchase Violette. Such a lovely doll. Can’t wait to see her first outfit. 🙂
So much cooler overnight last night. We have the house inside down to 75. This is supposed to be our last really hot day. I think we’re going to make it. That is after I go to the dentist this morning. At least that office will be nice and cool. 🙂

  6. Violette, is beautiful, Jeanne. What a lovely gift for your birthday.
We are not out of the heat yet, and had to have the air conditioning repaired yesterday.. some minor part went out.. The repair man said we will need a whole new unit within the next few years. It was put in when our house was built 20 years ago.
I am really looking forward to fall.

Glad to hear that your air conditioner was able to be repaired. I think we need to start looking at them after this heatwave without one.

  7. She is so adorable! I have never seen her before and glad I could watch the “grand opening”. Congratulations!

  8. Congratulations on your latest RRFF, Jeanne. Now you have a handful of them. I remember seeing her come up for sale as a pre-order. Her name would be Vee-oh-let because that is the French spelling. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SLeZPjPZLsM.
My renamed Samantha has Violet spelled that way as her second middle name because she is English. Of course, you can pronounce it however you wish. 🙂
Looking forward to her first outfit.

Dear Jeanne, I am commenting in the evening. I guess by now we have all heard the news about the Queen. I feel like I want to do something to honor her but I don’t know what.

I wonder if there is a doll charity or something like that in England.

Violette is very pretty. I can see that she is special to you!
