~ Summer Fun in 1864 ~ is listed on Ebay…

Somehow in the course of my busy day, I managed to get Rebecca’s Civil War dress listed on Ebay… If you want to take a peek, you can click on the picture at the right side bar or you can click HERE.

I have been burning the candle at both ends lately and just need to go to bed… so I wish all of you a happy Saturday and Sunday and will see you Monday morning!

See you then,
Blessings, Jeanne

Congrats on getting your latest fashion listed. I see it has one bid already! That didn’t take long!!

Debbie, I do hope your lost doll is quickly found! If the artist had your new address, she should have labeled the box correctly!! I would assume there was insurance for the full amount paid, if it comes to that. Have you notified the artist? It could be that She could institute a search from her end–that might help.

Sally, I will try to remember to send Jeanne a picture of the apron when it’s finished. It’s a really fun print, designed a few years back by Sharon Yenter, of In the Beginning (which used to be a wonderful quilt shop years ago; now she and her son both have designed fabrics under that name), which has vintage illustrations (black on natural) with expressions like “When I learned to sew, I forgot how to cook” and “A clean house is the sign of a broken sewing machine”! There is a bit of color in the flowers between the pictures. I’m not sure what color of bias tape I will use to bind it yet–will have to audition some colors from the print.

Plumber comes in the afternoon, so I’d better get some sleep!

Charlotte, those prints sound like such fun. I am really excited about seeing your apron, and just as excited your plumber is coming today. Get some sleep and have fun flushing tonight! 🤓❤️

Charlotte, I hope your plumber finds the problem quickly and you can get back to those sewing projects. My post office gave me a vague idea about the path my doll would take and to contact the shipper. Of course I did that but I can’t understand why an internal computer search of a tracking number would not yield her location. My 10-14 day wait is not over so I am still hopeful.

The new Oak Fire near Yosemite, is at 6,500 acres this morning. Just started yesterday. Out of control. Hope everyone got out safely.
Guess Jeanne’s, blog followers are busy or sleeping in this morning as I seem to be right after Charlotte. 🙂
Hard to believe that we are almost into August, and school will be starting very soon around here. Time to make an outfit for the dolls back to school I think.
Have a nice weekend everyone. 🙂

Joy, I didn’t know about that fire. And so it begins. So sorry for all, people and animals, birds.
About those school outfits. I suggest making those July 4th outfits into school outfits. Gives you a head start, don’t you think? 😎

Joy, I’m here, not sleeping! I went to the grocery store early to beat the heat! Going up to 104 today, ugh! Need to go out and water too., so just busy.

Good luck, Jeanne, with the Civil war dress! You won’t have it long!

Sorry about the fire, Joy. Just what we need while most of the country is baking!

104 on the Mississippi River has to be a nightmare. Do your best to stay cool.

It is! We are staying in the basement, cleaning out boxes, etc. What I needed to do anyway.

  4. Glad you got Rebecca’s dress listed. You have been one busy lady! It is just so pretty and I’m sure whoever wins it will be thrilled.
So sorry to hear about fires starting again Joy😵‍💫
Charlotte , your appt with the plumber will make it all better😉 I hope!
Debbie…🙏🏻 For that lost box to surface and get delivered.
Stay cool ladies….I’m off to water before it gets to 100 😵‍💫

    Hi, Jeanne.
Glad you went to bed. Self-preservation is needed in your case. I think you are pretty notorious for burning your candle at both ends.
So. I look at this beautiful dress. I SO wanted to put in the first bid last night. That’s right. She who is so very, very done with AG and has hundreds and hundreds of outfits for them, is SO tempted to bid. Totally out of my mind, but that is how much I like this set…but I would ask for a black bow. 😆 It should do very well. Fingers crossed it does and that it doesn’t end up coming to Salida.
Rest up this weekend. And doing dishes isn’t going to kill dear George. Please give Reuben some pats from “Aunt Sal”
So. Sal won’t get to do intensive dolly play this week making scenes on the dining table. I’ve gotten a grip on that.
This was a star spangled week for dolls, though. My custom from Alex Berg arrived Thursday from Italy, my custom from Jana in Czech Republic arrived Friday, and yesterday, Avril arrived from Spain and is already wearing a gorgeous modern, smooth, shoulder length wig. My husband signed for her….made me think of Joy!! Why is that?
Some day, I will have pics to send Jeanne. The Rubies have really taken over the guest room, a good part of the office and master bedroom. Ah, life.
Debbie, your girl WILL be found. But Charlotte is right. Ask the artist to help. Was it Magalie? She is so wonderful. And some things just don’t get tracked properly. I was informed Daphne was being sent and three hours after that email, she was on my doorstep. Avril just showed up with no warning from USPS. Postal service is haywire, but some things I thought were probably lost, did, eventually, show up. Keep the faith and stay cool.
Hugs to the wonderful sofa sisters and our ring leader.

Yes, but a “helper” with the same last name. He was very apologetic. Maggie (for my grandmother) will be forwarded by the mystery post office who is holding her hostage. Or she will be returned to sender. I hike down to the mailbox 3 times a day!

      1. Joy in northern CA

Just a thought, but did you file a lost package claim with the UPS? I’ve had to do that a lot, and that seems to spur the workers to locate the package and send it to the rightful owner. You do it online. 🙂 And have you called the post office in your old town with the tracking? Maybe they are enjoying her loveliness at their place. 🙂 If she is returned to sender, will you have to pay for postage again to have her resent? Hope not.

        1. Thank you Joy! I had not thought of doing that and I do have an account. Filing a claim today.

    2. Charlotte Trayer

Sally, Maybe you need that outfit because you can’t do the dolly play you had planned this weekend. Just sayin’…!!

      1. Sally from Colorado

Ooh, Charlotte. Methinks thou art a wee bit wicked! 😈😉❤️
Any success with the plumber, I hope? And the apron and tops?
Have a wonderful Sunday. Hope you and Ron are doing well.

It looks like you have more than one interested buyer, 4 bids in the first 24 hours! That dress is a stunner. Every dress you model on Rebecca sends me to the computer searching for that doll. I am short on dolls that look good in that era, thank goodness or I would be jumping into the bidding.

Joy, praying for rain and cool temps for Yosemite. For you also Linda. We are roasting here also, we made a quick run to the farmer’s market at 9:30 then back to the A/C. Stay cool everyone!

    1. Sally from Colorado

Debbie, just throwing this out. My Rebecca is in the bin for first dolls to leave these premises. Jeanne can give you my email. Rebecca might even arrive at your home with an AG stand and an extra outfit or two.
No obligation, but something has to start happening here soon with my AGs!!
Hope you LD is shouting out from her box for folks to get on the ball.

      1. Just read all posts slowly this time. First, such exciting news about your doll haul this week! Love to see pics of your customs from Europe. Just the thought of hubby intercepting packages keeps me in check, sort of. Due to recent retirement he meets the postman at the door!
I am interested and will get your contact from Jeanne. 🙂
