Today it’s SLIPS for the Ruby Red Fashion Friends dolls…

First of all… the mystery is solved… Elaine and Ingrid got in touch with Carolyn Marker and told her what had happened… and this evening I received an email from Carolyn with her address! YAY! The slip package is ready to go out and ALL I have to do now is figure out how to get my Etsy shop opened back up TO ME… that is… It’s still open and this same thing could happen again, but I can’t get to the “dashboard” of my own shop, so I can’t close it until it gets fixed… what a mess this is…

But anyway, thank you for coming to my rescue and helping me find Carolyn… :o)

I don’t know WHAT is going on with my life right now, but I’m SO busy with SO many different things… and I’m not talking about my new floors… they haven’t even been a thought so far…

However, I did find time this afternoon and evening to get the Ruby Red girls new slips made for their Christmas dresses! They were wonderful models for me and I hope you enjoy this short fashion shoot!

Aren’t they just the cutest little trio you’ve ever seen?

The slips have 2 layers of tulle with the top layer having lace added at the hemline, a yoke added to reduce the bulk at the waist and an elastic waistband that easily slides up the dolls legs…

Here’s a close up of the slips…

Now each girl wanted a turn to showcase her particular slip… First up Sarah…

Next up… Rozen

…and then Stella…

The girls were patient with me while I made their new slips… now onto the snaps down the backs and the hems… :o)

Nightie night, girls…

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

Jeanne, I’m so happy to hear that Carolyn finally got in touch with you and it looks like things are all patched up……..well not everything, but at least with her! I too, wrote to her on Etsy and thought maybe another person would help to let her know you were searching for her. I included your email address.

Well, those slips are absolutely darling, and I love those sweet smiles the girls are giving us! Little do they know……….! These will be the perfect addition to the dresses, and will help them stand out just so!

    1. Thanks Linda,
I was never so glad to get something in the mail as I was Carolyn’s slip! I hope it travels quickly to Minnesota.
Thanks for liking the girls slips… I made them just slightly less full than I normally do, so they just held the dress out but didn’t make them look unnatural. They were pretending to be ballerina’s on my cutting table… :o) Lot’s of twirling going on …
I like their sweet smiles too!
      Thanks SO much,
      Blessings, Jeanne

Those are beautiful slips. I’m looking forward to seeing the completely dressed dolls. Your bidders are going to want as many dresses as they have dolls.

The news about Carolyn is a great relief and a big step forward getting the Etsy problem straightened out. Someone on the blog may have an answer.

I just noticed that my name and email aren’t automatically filling in.

    1. Kathie from Omaha

The trio of slips are great. The lace on the bottom edge is such a pretty one. They always make your dresses look above and beyond. It won’t be long until you can get them listed😉
Glad the Etsy issue is at least partially figured out. Hope your store is open again soon.

        1. No problem, Kathie,
I don’t know where I got that lace, but I do remember when I got it, thinking it would great on the bottom edge of slips… I guess I was right.

I hope I can make some headway on the Etsy shop fiasco soon… I doubt anything will happen over the weekend, but I’ll certainly keep an eye on my sales number and if it changes, at least I’ll know someone bought something… I wish I could close my shop myself, but since I can’t get into it, I can’t.
          Thanks Kathie,
          Have a wonderful weekend.
          Blessings, Jeanne

    2. HI Marilyn,
My hope is to get started on the snaps and hems tonight…but’s it’s already after 8:00… maybe!!! :o)
It was kind of fun sewing 3 dresses at once, seeing them each differently on the girls… It really does seem faster to sew for more than one at the same time… :o)

I was so happy to leave the PO knowing Carolyn’s slips were on the way to her… I even added tracking so I would know for sure they reached her!

Sorry about your name having to be filled in… I don’t know what makes things like that happen… Claudine is bringing us that mattress and box spring on the 22nd… maybe I can ask her to take a look at things when she’s here…

      Thanks Marilyn,
      Blessings, Jeanne

FWIW, my name and email don’t automatically fill in, either, and haven’t since things got changed on your blog. I click on the blank and then I can choose which of two email addresses to put in.

The slips look lovely on the girls. It will be so nice for someone to have them as well as the dress and cute hair accessories. Lookin good girls. 🙂
I guess I’m missing something here, but why couldn’t Jeanne have contacted Carolyn the same way as others using her husband’s computer or one of a friend? And why has there been no answer from Etsy or maybe there has been? Have all of the phone numbers available for Etsy been exhausted? And what about resetting the password? Anyone can reset their own password for Etsy from the first page. However, if that was all done, is it still impossible for Jeanne to get into her shop? I’m very surprised and annoyed to discover that If everything was done that there still has not been a response from Etsy. I am a believer that if you don’t get an immediate response, you need to send multiple requests until you do hear back. Or even better actually talk to a human. Grrr… I’m definitely going to rethink any business I do with Etsy.
Finally turned on the heat this morning for the first time. No longer freezing. I’ll be happy until the next bill from PGE arrives.

    1. Barbara in SE Texas

I can’t even imagine putting the heat on. I’m still using the A/C although it isn’t running as much. I need to get some of my window screens fixed so I can open my windows as soon as the cool fronts start coming through. I love being able to do that. Enjoy the cool.

    2. HI Joy,
Thanks for the compliments on the girls slips and hair doo dads…
As far as why I couldn’t get ahold of Carolyn…the only thing I got was a notice from my Etsy shop that something had been bought. I could look and see that it was a slip that was sold (ON SEPT 1st) and could see the name of the person… Carolyn Marker.

I tried sending her a message to Etsy the way I normally would have and thought she’d answer me right back… but I guess because my shop was hacked, my messages weren’t going to her…and I just found out last night that she had tried to send me messages 4 times but I didn’t receive any of hers…

I sent her 4 messages, thinking it was just a matter of time before she’d look at her Etsy page and see she had a message… but I guess nothing was getting through. It wasn’t until she got my email address that her message actually started going through. She told me she was in IT for 40 years and sympathized with me over the hacking… UGH!

As far as Etsy goes, there just isn’t a way for me to get to anyone… I’ve sent 5 or 6 emails and only have gotten one response… telling me to change my password… the problem is… it’s not my account to begin with it… one with a name that is just Jeanne…and it’s not my account…it’s empty… no items for sale… no followers… no sales… and when I try to change anything… the responses I get are for a seller with a password that starts like this… dl1k7y…. and that’s not mine either… It’s like my name and shop don’t exist, but my shop is still open…it’s just that I’m not able to control anything that goes on there… I WISH there was a human to talk to…

There is a guy at my church that’s supposed to know a lot about setting up Etsy shops… and I’m going to talk to him Sunday… maybe he can help me…

No heat for us here… I was sweating like a pig at the food pantry today… wearing those masks and having to lift all those boxes of produce is hard work and we all come away from there drenched…

      Thanks Joy,
      Blessings, Jeanne

      1. Charlotte Trayer

I’m glad that Carolyn has the background she does, and was so understanding of your difficulties, Jeanne!

Maybe you’ll have to set up a new etsy shop and put some kind of notice on it that your previous shop had been hacked, etc. Might be the only way to do, I don’t know. Hopefully that person at your church can help you out.

  4. Good morning Jeanne,

I’m so happy to hear Carolyn finally emailed you. Yesterday after I left my comment I went into my etsy again and sent her your email. I realized that giving her your blog address may have been overwhelming and she may not have understood she could contact you that way. Hopefully and with fingers crossed she will update her etsy review. Good luck with your shop issues I’m sure it’s very frustrating.
Your girls look fabulous in their pretty new slips. All they need now is a pretty little christmas gift to hold, a tiny little box wrapped in pretty paper with a sweet bow and tada … all finished and ready to list! lol.

It’s that time of the year sadly yes it’s time to put my gardens to bed for winter, sigh! Everything still looks so nice but soon we’ll have a freeze so it’s best to get to it now. I need to get my fall bulbs AKS squirrel food planted too. LOL … Now all I need is a little kick in the pants to get my butt in gear!

    Happy Friday and hugs

    Ingrid

    1. Joy in northern CA

I think your idea of a little gift for the girls to hold is perfect. They are expecting a dot of snow in the Sierra today. Down in the 20’s at our cabin at night. Burr…. So glad we drove up and winterized the place. 🙂

      1. Oh Joy burrr is right … I remember when you and other person went up to close the cabin. I’ve always loved snow but the older I get the less I like it!
I can’t believe your heat is on already. We have a fireplace with a gas insert that I’ll use to take the chill off. Hubby and I have a game we play, we call it how long can we go until we have to turn the heat on. LOL We normally break down around the end of October.

        1. Ingrid… my hubby and I do the same thing… see how long we can go before we absolutely HAVE to turn the furnace on… :o)

    2. Anne Coldron in New Zealand

LOL Ingrid, I will have to put in my bedding plants soon AKA snail food!!! (We don’t have squirrels here)

      1. Hi Anne,
Lucky girl! I’d love a take 2 on summer. I didn’t get enough sunshine this season, we had soooo much rain it felt more like fall. No squirrels really?? Oh my we have gray, black and red ones here. The red ones are little stinkers. Smaller than the other two, very bright and curious. Actually kind of cute and fun to watch until they start digging up my tulips! lol
Good luck with those yucky snails… they love beer and don’t swim. Fill a low container with beer and leave it where you see the little buggers. They will drink, get drunk and drown. Hope you had fun doing your demo. Your cake artistry is wonderful!

    3. HI Ingrid,
I am so grateful to you for your help trying to get this issue solved… I don’t think she can change her feedback on Etsy… once it’s left it’s permanent, I think… but it’s not too bad… I just have half a star that’s not filled in all the way… Better Etsy than Ebay I guess…
I did get Carolyn’s slip mailed out today and was so thankful to have solved this problem… I’m sure hoping no one else buys anything until I get the issues with my Etsy shop figured out…
I like your idea of each girl holding a little Christmas gift… that would be perfect!!

Yes, it seems like winter is inevitable isn’t it? We are still getting a few tomatoes from our plants… but they are getting fewer and fewer..

I need the same kick as you get to get me going on a few things too… today I was sorting books from the bookshelf… we had to unload it before we do the floor and I thought it was a good time to go through them all… I think we are bookaholics!

      Thanks Ingrid,
      Have a wonderful weekend…
      Blessings, Jeanne

Such pretty little slips. These dolls are so photogenic. I can’t wait to see them all in their beautiful new dresses. Someone mentioned them having little gifts. When I did my dolly Christmas photo shoot awhile back I bought some gift box ornaments for a small tree. They were the perfect size and very pretty.

I’m so glad you’ve been in contact with Carolyn and I hope she revises her comment and gives you a glowing review for your efforts at customer satisfaction. How wonderful that some of my sofa sisters helped you out in getting that done. I’m a big Etsy user but lately my time has been consumed with working on getting a home improvement loan to do my roof and driveway. Filling out the application has been a nightmare. The spaces for information are so small and I have a lot of information to input. I hoped I could do it online but my bank doesn’t offer that option. We had a good job in the offing that would have paid for this, but it’s been put off till early next year and we wanted to get the projects done during the cooler weather since the guys are doing most of the work themselves. One of the projects is adding a utility room and additional bathroom so my washer and dryer will be out of the garage. I’m all for that.

Things are slowly dying back here so I know cooler weather must be on the way. Even the grass is growing slower. No big leaf drop just yet. Ours sadly don’t change color much but they still fall. We don’t have to rake them up, we just mulch them with the mower.

    1. Hi Barbara,
These dolls are such pretty little things…and now they have pretty little slips to go under their pretty little dresses and soon they’ll each have pretty little presents!
      Sorry, I couldn’t resist! :o)

I don’t think you can change your feedback but once I get my shop back up and working with me in charge of things… I may be able to respond to her comments and can clear up what “looks” like negative feedback… It’s not the end of the world if I can’t… at least it wasn’t Ebay… it would really hurt if it were Ebay…

The leaves are just starting to drop here… and you can see some slight changes to the trees too… yep, it’s gonna turn winter soon…
      Thanks Barbara,
      Blessings, Jeanne

So pleased you finally got hold of your customer. Like Barbara I hope she changes her review after all the trouble you went to to find her.

While you are all thinking about getting ready for winter I am thinking about Summer coming yay! It was 22C yesterday which was lovely. Not that i was out much, I am doing a demo today on Palette knife painting on buttercream. I haven’t actually done this on a cake, just seen it on YouTube so hope it goes OK. No one else put their hand up to do anything last meeting so they get what they get. Like a lot of things it isn’t quite as easy as it looks! Still I have made some passable flowers so may try it on a cake one day.

I looked at the web site Joy gave me for the RRFF dolls but then I thought I would look at Trade Me which is our local auction site. I had never seen the RRFF dolls on there before but there they were. $199 NZ and $6.50 postage. They only had Stella, Sara and Kayla so think I might buy myself a Sara for Christmas.. Watch this space

    1. Barbara in SE Texas

Anne, I’m so excited that you may be able to get your own RRFF. They’re all great so any one would be nice.

    2. Charlotte Trayer

Woohoo, Anne!! So glad to hear you may join the ranks of those of us with RRFF dolls!! You will love whichever one you get, I’m sure!!

I hadn’t heard of using a palette knife to “paint” with buttercream. Might have to see what videos I can find and see if it’s something I want to pursue. I used to dabble in cake decorating, but as I’ve gotten older, my hands aren’t as happy about squeezing the frosting bags as they used to be!

    3. HI Anne,
It seems so strange that we can be thinking of winter coming and you are ready for summer to hit… I’m not ready for winter… I wish it could almost stay Fall all year round… I love Fall…

I hope your cake demo went okay… I bet you aced it! (I’ve seen a thing or two from you and you do all things well!) :o)

Yay for you on getting Sara… you will LOVE her… I sure am smitten with these dolls BIG time… I always look on Ebay at the Ruby Red Fashion Friends… just to make sure I’m not “missing” anything! :o)

      Thanks Anne,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  7. Joy Lynne Carter

lovely slips… I learn so much from seeing your work Jeanne.
I do hope and pray your Etsy shop snarl is worked out soon. So frustrating!

    1. HI Joy,
Thanks for the compliments on the girls slips! :o)
I heard it through the grapevine that Kevin is the Etsy guy to talk too.. I hope he has a few minutes for me Sunday!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  8. Charlotte Trayer

Well, here I am, finally….usually the first, maybe one of the last today!! We spent four hours in the emergency room early this morning (4-8, approximately), but, after quite a few blood tests, EKG, etc., it was determined that they don’t know Why Ron gets these shaking episodes, and think it may be anxiety (which I’ve been thinking all along). At least we know it’s not any kind of nutritional deficiency or other physiological thing. However, I am running on 3 hours of sleep (I hadn’t gotten to bed yet when all the started, so I napped after we got home).

And, of course, that wasn’t enough for one day–our cable box died, also, so this afternoon we went over to Comcast and turned in the old one and got the new one. I got it all set up, and the darned thing wouldn’t work, so I called Comcast, and the “woman robot” saw that we had a new device, and “please hold a minute while I send a signal”, and just like that, we have cable again!

Jeanne, I am so glad that Carolyn got the messages and reached out to you. Thanks to Ingrid and Elaine for helping Jeanne on this! Now if Carolyn will change her rating, perhaps Etsy will “unlock” Jeanne’s account!

The petticoats are darling and the girls look well pleased to have such pretty “underpinnings”! I think little wrapped “gifts” would be a fun accessory for them, too, but perhaps you have other ideas? Sometimes you can find packages of miniature tree ornaments, and one for each of them would also be cute, especially if you happened upon some in the “right” colors!

    1. HI Charlotte,
I hope you get to bed early tonight! There’s not too many things worse than spending time in the ER… unless you get in right away… I pray for your hubby to have a good night tonight too!

I wish I could call a robot and say, “Fix my Etsy shop” and it’d come back on with me in charge… fat chance on that happening. But glad it worked for you!

I’m thinking of the presents, but I’m also keeping my eyes open for other things too! I may look at Hobby Lobby…they always have the cutest “littles” for gifts! :o)

      Have a nice night Charlotte,
      Get to bed…
      Blessings, Jeanne

  9. Dorothy in PA and the World

Dear Jeanne, I am happy that you got part of your etsy problem solved.

I know there is an etsy community. I don’t know if you can reach it without being able to log on. Here is the link: https://community.etsy.com/

I am sure you have already done a Google search for the topic “what to do if someone hacks my account.” I am sure that this has happened to folks before.

I hope you can work with part out swiftly.

Your girls look so cute in their slips. In the third photo down, where they are turned slightly to the side, they look they are a singing group, maybe the Jeanne-ettes or the Sew-premes (chuckle).
