My hubby didn’t have to buy me a Valentine gift… I bought it myself… :o)

I guess you could call me bad… but I don’t care… I bought one more doll, because I found out she was available. She is SOLD OUT at every doll shop I looked at, but I asked at one, “You wouldn’t happen to have _____ would you?” They said they did have one… so they sent me a few pictures and I was swooning like never before. I said I’d take her and then the waiting game began… It was agony not telling anyone about her… (I did show her picture to 2 friends at church and they thought she was pretty!)

Then I showed a picture of her to my hubby and he loved her smiling face… it’s a good thing because when I told him I had bought my own Valentine’s Day present, he said he was actually relieved… YAY! Then he said, “Oh yeah, I was going to get her for you, but forgot to tell you…” Ha! I am smitten big time and wanted to pass something along to all my blog readers…

I still go by my dear friend’s advice… “Buy the prettiest dolls you can… they’ll sell your doll clothes better!” It’s always worked for me so far…

Happily Ever After is having a sale on the dolls where the shipping is FREE until the end of February… Some are limited quantities, but Ed told me there is a waiting list you can get on if you want something he doesn’t have in stock. I’m assuming he meant just the Ruby Red Fashion Friends dolls, but I’m not entirely positive it’s just them…

Okay, now do you want to see who I got?

This is Baby Blue Rozen… She was a limited edition of the Ruby Red Fashion Friends dolls who was released in July of 2020. The artist who sculpted her was none other than Dianna Effner…copied after her #3 Little Darling doll. I had no idea who Rozen or any of the Ruby Red Fashion Friends dolls were back then…There were only 220 dolls made and she was made for the United States. Happily Ever After and Samantha’s Doll shop in Nashville, TN, were the only shops that sold them…

It’s always exciting opening up a new doll you have NEVER seen in person before…

So far, so good… I love the print in her dress… and her shoes are ADORABLE…

Cuteness Overload!!!!

She has red hair (yep, I’m a sucker for those redheads) and pretty bluish/aqua eyes. She’s the same Ruby Red Fashion Friends doll as my new Sara I just got, only she’s a different skin tone… a bit more like an olive skin on Rozen.

I am going to have fun with the two girls and look forward to many new outfits for both of them…

The dolls are reasonably priced at $149.99 with free shipping… knocking about $14 off…

These dolls are articulated at the elbows and the knees… and are pretty easy to pose. They aren’t as limber as my little Bailey or Navi dolls, who can pose in just about any position imaginable, but they don’t cost as much as those dolls either. Rozen can hold something in her arms or sit in a chair fairly well… Her head is very moveable and that is a very nice feature… up and down and all around…

She came in a pretty little ruffled dress with a little rag doll and the most adorable pair of turquoise shoes…

A sweet little turquoise blouse and a pair of bloomers are under the dress…

Let me show you the rest of my pictures…

As I started to undress her I noticed she could wear her dress as a sundress…

This is what she looks like next to Sara…

Yep, you could say I’m totally in love with Rozen… She has a promising future ahead of her…as long as she stays as cute as she is this very first day!

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

Congratulations on your new doll!! She really is beautiful. I love her eyes, and of course the red hair (I’m a sucker for red hair, too!). You were really fortunate to find one that was still available! I had thought to order Perhelia, but by the time I decided, she was sold out. Another redhead! Oh, well, I will have enough to do, making clothes for Hanna and Bella. I have started on a dress for Bella–it turned out the lavender one I made for her looked better on Hanna, so Bella will have something similar in yellow.

We ended up with about 9-10″ of snow here as of this morning, and even some icicles (which are Very rare in the Seattle area) one one or two spots along the eves, but temps are warming up again, and the snow is melting. Tomorrow we should have some rain, and that will melt the snow even faster.

Hope everyone had a good Valentine’s Day! Ours was quiet–no church due to the snow (things tend to shut down out here!) and we didn’t even try to take the car out–going out wouldn’t have been so bad, but trying to get the car back up the driveway could have been a challenge!! We’ll go out for dinner another time.

    1. Thanks Charlotte,
She REALLY IS a pretty doll and I love her!!

We have about 10 to 12″ of snow too and it’s still snowing… we haven’t had this much snow in probably 10 or more years…
Tomorrow’s high is only supposed to be 13 and then Wednesday more snow..oh boy!!

I got roses from my hubby…a total surprise!
      Thanks Charlotte,
      Blessings, Jeanne,

  2. What a gorgeous doll, Jeanne! I can’t get over her beautiful eyes, they just sparkle! I normally don’t like dolls with longish, made-up eyelashes, but hers are just right, and she has the sweetest smile! Yes, you are going to have fun with her, and having Sara too will be double the fun!

While they have the same face mold and body, the differences in the skin color and hair styles do set them apart, and each are darling in their own way! I love that fabric that her dress is made of, such a beautiful blue! Congratulations on getting her!

It sure didn’t get very warm yesterday, only up to 7 degrees, and it snowed again overnight! I think we all are living in a snowglobe, and God keeps shaking it upside down! While it is pretty, it does make it hard on wildlife around here. We have a herd, yes a herd, of deer that live in the woods around our subdivision, andthey are having a hard time of it now finding food. You can see them early in the morning munching on what grass they can find in our yards. At least I don’t have lilies blooming now!

    1. Hi Linda,
Rozen really is a sweet doll and I’m not sorry one little bit that I bought her… I’m glad you like her.
It has snowed all at here and w have 10 or 12″ and it’s still snowing…it’s crazy… especially the birds at the feeders…it’s been fun watching them all day!
      Thanks Linda,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  3. Congratulations on your new doll. She is certainly pretty. I looked at the link to Happily Ever After, and sort of went down a rabbit hole. There are so many pretty dolls on their site; unfortunately for me, I am trying really hard not to but more dolls, as I don’t have time to play with and sew for all the ones I already have. It is taking a lot of willpower though. Enjoy your pretty girl!

    1. Hi Carolyn,
I really wasn’t looking for any new dolls but they have just exploded and are SO popular right now…I decided to go for it…
      I AM enjoying her…
      Blessings, Jeanne

  4. Congratulations on getting Baby Blue Rozen! She is beautiful! Her name reminds me of Raspberries. 🙂 I love her dress with the flowers and ruffles. Happy belated St. Valentine’s!

    1. Thanks Karen,
She really is a very pretty doll and I hope she earns her keep like Sara did right from the very start…
      Thanks so much,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  5. Love your Baby Blue Rozen! How exciting. She will be a great pal for Sara. Maybe they can do some sister modeling. Two similar dresses, but different. I think it would also be fun to hold up different colored fabrics to her and see which work the best with her wonderful colored eyes and skin tone. Fun ahead and congrats!
I’m with Carolyn in the not “needing” more dolls, but after my recent ordering spree, the “willpower” is not working. 🙁 Wish the cold snap would go away so that my dollies don’t freeze in their boxes during travel. Hope not to have any snapped resin in transit. I’ve heard that it is wise to let the boxes warm up before opening to avoid problems. Nothing like a frozen Rozen or other dolly.

    1. Hi Joy,
I wish I could say I bought Rozen because she’d make a great pal for Sara, but I actually bought her because I thought she was so pretty…
I DID hold up lots of fabrics to her and that’s how I decided on her debut dress…it just went on Ebay a little while ago.
No, we certainly don’t any frozen Rozens… :o)
When you have time, take some pics of your new girls to share…
      Blessings, Jeanne

    1. Oh yeah, you got it right. Just for Valentine’s Day, Chrissa AG came to me – used but beautiful. New dolls are always OK. This Jeanne doll is adorable and Sarah is the most beautiful.

      1. Thank you, Alina!!
Congratulations on your new Chrissa doll? Isn’t she so pretty?
        Blessings, Jeanne

  6. Jeanne, your new doll, Baby Blue Rozen, is a beautiful doll!! Happy Valentine Day to you!! Love her eyes and the red hair! I like her skin tone too. I’m partial to red haired dolls myself. She will certainly be an important model for you and a good match for Sara, only different in skin tone and hair color for certain fabric colors.
I bought myself some Valentine Day doll things too! Whew!

    1. Thank you Paula,
Oh good…I wasn’t the only one who got some new Valentine goodies!! Hope ou enjoy yours as much as I am enjoying mjne!!
      Thanks Paula,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  7. Wonderful that Ed had a Baby Blue Rozen for you, Jeanne! If you check Ebay Solds, two of these dolls recently sold for well over $300 each. Agree that the Ruby Red Fashion Friends are truly beautiful dolls. I have several Dianna Effner #3 sculpt Little Darlings but think the Fashion Friends (which are done from that same #3 sculpt) are cuter. Ruby Red has truly made the Fashion Friends’ smiles reach all the way to their inset eyes. And their delicate painting is just wonderful. They’re incredible dolls for the money, in my opinion. I’ve got fingers crossed that Ruby Red does an equally brilliant job on the faces of the soon-to-be-released 12″ versions they’re calling Siblies. Did you pre-order a Siblie or 2 from Ed? I have Rory and Callie coming. :~)

    1. Hi Cheryl
I DID see those 2 auctions… in fact I put in the first bid on that one that went for $353….glad I got outbid and found my forever girl just in time!
I looked at the Siblies but so far have resisted..I think I better quit for now…
      Blessings, Jeanne

  8. Jeanne, George is so funny. I love your Valentines gift. She is so pretty. It is just as well I didn’t find out about Rozen before Friday, I might have been tempted but I found a huge leak at the front of the house then. I had someone look at it and he is coming to try to fix it tomorrow but he thinks it is the pipe from the mains to the house and unfortunately my responsibility not the council’s! He may have to dig a trench from the house to outside the fence, sounds like a very expensive job. On the up side, the plants under the window at the front haven’t needed watering lol.
I love the little dress she is wearing but like it better without the blouse. I think you will do well with selling dresses you make for her. There doesn’t seem to be much out there for that size of doll. Everyone seems to make for the AG size dolls.

    1. HI Anne,
Yes, I thought that was funny too, when my hubby said that…
I’m glad you like Rozen… she is a dream boat of a doll and I hope she stays that way…
Oh no… nothing like having to trade any dreams of a new doll for a new leak problem… I might feel a little guilty about that if I let myself…since we need a new roof… yikes!

There actually are plenty of ladies selling clothes for the RRFF dolls, but I’ll put my hat into the ring and see what happens…
      Thanks Anne,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  9. I missed commenting on Saturday because I spent the day dressing my dolly daughters for Valentine’s Day. There were many who had nothing Valentinesish, and it still took me all day. But I just had to comment on all the sweet little dresses you posted on the Blog for our enjoyment. I loved them all but I must admit that when I got to Lian’s I was blown away. Absolutely beautiful! She is a beautiful doll.

I nearly bought Baby Blue Rozen when I got the notice on her. Isn’t she beautiful with an adorable outfit. I was tempted to buy her just for the shoes. I still need to add Hanna to my Friends group, especially since I’ve pre-ordered her siblie. But I’ve ordered several dolls lately and I need to hold off for a little while since with all that is going on I can’t even seem to keep up with the ones I have. So to satisfy my dolly fever I got on Happily.com yesterday and took advantage of the 10% off sale and bought a sweet little dress and another outfit for my Fashion Friends. Probably should have bought three outfits since I have three FF girls. To keep peace in the family I’ll just make something for the one that draws the short straw.

Well it happened! We got two inches of snow in Sealy, TX, last night. It’s cold enough still (about 17 degrees) that even with the sun out it’s staying, even on the streets. Problem is there is a layer of ice under it since last evening it rained and sleeted before it started snowing in the wee hours of the morning. The temp last night was 12 degrees, not to mention the wind chill. My poor dog freaked this morning when she went out. She is nearly blind and I felt so sorry for her because nothing smelled familiar. I was afraid she would just turn around and come inside like she does sometimes when it’s raining, but thankfully she didn’t. My daughter-in-law shared a Facebook post that showed all the counties in Texas under a winter storm watch. First time in at least recorded history that has happened. When I was growing up in PA two inches of snow would have been called a light dusting and life would have gone on as usual. Last evening David and I went to our favorite Sunday night restaurant for a bite. It was closed. It was 6 p.m. and raining very lightly. We drove further on and everything was closed or closing. The grandkids are on virtual learning all week. Mostly that is because of the ice since more rain is expected at some point and the temps will be very low for a few days. It was easier to close the school building than try to figure out from day to day whether children should come or not.

When I was a kid we loved “snow days” – until we had to make them up at the end of the year. When I was in 6th grade we had to make up five days. So for a week we had to come half days. Since our books were turned in and sitting and staring at each other was not an option our teacher read us Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol”. It was the first time I had every heard the story. There will no longer be snow days in most places since the technology is in place to work from home. Thankfully my son will also be home this week because my daughter-in-law is still adjusting to a new baby and keeping the kids on track in virtual learning would be a bit of a struggle for her at the moment.

    1. HI Barbara,
Good for you spending time dressing your dolls for Valentine’s Day… I bet they were so happy! :o)
Yes, isn’t Lian pretty in that pink and white dress… I still love seeing her in that one… It’s one I always think of when someone asks me if I have a favorite…
Those shoes for Rozen are incredible and I studied them and traced around them and put paper over them to copy their size and I know what you mean by how cute they are! :o)

My hubby took Reuben out in the snow today, after it was about 10″ deep and he was prancing around like a bunny…it was well past his belly and just loved it! We ended up with about 12″ and it’s still snowing… what a day to watch it add up… Rebecca shoveled it for a long time making paths for her dad and Reuben to walk… and so she could get to her Blazer when she goes to work at 5am tomorrow morning…

What a nice mom you are, ordering an outfit for one of your girls… Thanks for taking advantage of Ed’s offer… I’m sure he was pleased… probably not as much as the girls will be when they see the outfit you bought! :o)

      Thanks Barbara,
      Stay safe and warm…
      Blessings, Jeanne

  10. Happy Valentine’s Day! Lucky you with another new doll. Rozen is very pretty . Her eyes appear to be the same color as MG’s, a lovely aquamarine. Redheads are gorgeous. I also like the Ruby Red Fashion Friends better than the LD. They seem so much happier. Her dress is sweet with all the ruffles and I love her shoes with the bows. She’s another lucky doll who, like Sara, won’t have to stand naked on the doll shelf.
Good thing you set yourself the challenge of three dresses a month because with all those dolls to get through in a year you need to go quickly. LOL I’ve lost track of who you have anymore since you’ve bough a number and sold a few recently.

    1. HI Laura,
I think Rozen’s eyes are about the same color as Marie Graces…it’s a very becoming color to me…
I just listed a new dress for Rozen on Ebay a little while ago…she moved to the top of the list… sorry to my other girls…but the new girl wins almost every time! :o)
      Thanks Laura,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  11. Thanks for the heads up about the RRFF Siblies. I preordered a Bailey doll. Your Rozen if a wonderful doll. Congratulations on your persistence being rewarded.

Great excitement in Cypress, Texas, just NE of Houston. My grandson Krish tiptoed down the stairs early this morning to show me what looked like 2” of snow on the ground! Barbara confirmed my estimate. They had lived in WV and hadn’t had snow since living in Texas. However, my daughter-in-law’s parents house is without electricity so they may have visitors tonight. Their house has underground utilities, my son drained the sprinkler system and the pool fountain will circulate the water so it won’t freeze. Meanwhile it’s 64 degrees in Garden Grove, California. End of weather report.

    1. Oh Suzette,
I’m glad you got a Bailey doll…she is a cutie and probably the one I would get if I hadn’t been so bad already… I hope you enjoy her…
I bet Krish was thrilled and he may be getting more in the next few days according to the weather man… He can have some of ours…it’s more than we have had in years and years… probably since my kids were little…
As pretty as it is, I’m ready for Spring…. End of my report… Don’t get sun burned! ;o)
      Blessings, Jeanne

  12. Here’s the Happily Ever After Siblies link https://www.happily.com/Ruby-Red-Fashion-Friends-Siblies-s/329.htm
Your new RRFF is lovely — so thoughtful of you to have helped George find just what you wanted. Now you’ll be making twice as many RRFF outfits, which is an excellent idea. I think you need a Siblie as well, and with Marti Gras tomorrow, more Easter dresses are in order, unless you want to make a coat and muff first. Which doll did you make that for? Another would be nice in this weather.

    1. HI Marilyn,
I looked at the Siblies last night… and have to pass for now…I’ve been bad… well, sort of…

Rozen is lovely as you said…and I can’t get enough of her… the pictures of her didn’t turn out as pretty as they look on my phone… the color is all faded out… I wonder if it’s a setting thing on my computer… I should ask Kristoffer…
I just listed Rozen’s new dress on Ebay… yep…already have her debut dress made and listed… with shoes!!!
I actually WAS thinking of making a doll coat last night… I really should… perfect weather for one! :o)
      Thanks Marilyn,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  13. Dorothy in PA and the World

Dear Jeanne, what a cutie. I love her dress! I love the sweet little doll. I wonder if these items are sold separately.

When you take another photo of Rozen can you pose her next to a Little Darling? I think the dolls can wear the same clothing but RRFFs are a bit taller.

Good for you for buying your own gift. Who knows better than you what you want? That’s always been my motto.

Years ago I had a secretary who would come to work periodically with new jewelry. She would say, “look what my husband bought me.” One time someone replied, “oh your husband sure does have good taste.” She replied, “well, he doesn’t know that he bought me this yet. I will tell him next week.” That became a running joke.

Uh, maybe you shouldn’t let your husband read this comment (laugh).

    1. HI Dorothy,
I’m glad you like Rozen… and I think their outfits are sold only on the dolls but I’ve seen them on Ebay… and that’s probably where mine will go…as soon as I get a chance to list them… I do love looking at them thought…especially the shoes…those tennies and that pair of aqua shoes are just adorable! I mean adorable!!!
I tried the new dress I just made for Rozen on Lian AND on Betsy McCall and it’s too big for both girls… It will work (sort of) but it doesn’t fit the way I would want a doll dress to fit… I’m showing a picture of it on my listing…
Yes, I’m very pleased with the gift my hubby didn’t know he bought me until I told him. :o)
      Thanks Dorothy,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  14. I was surprised to see Rosen…I thought it was going to be a baby doll😳…but love the baby blue she is dressed in. Smiles are the best. Dianna Effner did her? They must have a basic head and then go from there because they all look like relatives…sweet cousins😉 she and my Bella look similar. Now you know why my #3 Little Darling is my favorite.
She is very pretty and can wait to see what you make for her.LOVE those shoes too.
They are just a cute size ….Now I want to see for my Bella.
You and George both came out great on this one!

    1. HI Kathie,
Yes, Dianna did her sculpt and took if from the #3 Little Darlings… Not sure how that works but she does look similar to the #3 dolls. Lots of ladies like the smiling dolls and now I have TWO!
      I just listed Rozen’s new debut dress I made her… it’s on Ebay…
      Thanks Kathie,
      Blessings, Jeanne
