What would Valentine’s Day be without a few pink and red doll dresses?

Even though I didn’t get but one Valentine’s Day dress completed for your dolls this year, (Bailey’s I guess could qualify since it was rose colored…) I have made my share in the past and I thought I’d share some of those… because we HAVE to have some girlie dresses to look at over the weekend…

Friday’s seem to be busier for me as I work at our Food Pantry and there just doesn’t seem to be enough hours in the day most of the time… so sorry I missed out on your comments… I’ve started a notebook writing down things I want to answer and will hopefully get to them…

But for now, enjoy some pretty pictures of some of my past creations!

I don’t know what happened with the pictures of this dress, but they turned out poorly…and this was such a cute dress…

I need to make a doll coat… to go with just about everyone’s weather…

This was one I made as a special order for someone a LONG time ago… and I just ran across these 5 pictures of Lanie modeling it… they are all I had…

This was tiny little 7 1/5″ Riley, by Helen Kish… and this was her Valentine suit in 2011!

I did a LOT more sewing before I started my blog… Patsy got a lot of time in front of the camera!

This was Patsy’s Debut dress…

This dress set was called “Peach of a Valentine” and Patsy and Elin were adorable…

This dress was about 10 seconds from being thrown in the trash can… I could NOT get the two tiered skirt to do what I wanted…UNTIL I pulled up the top layer and added some bows… then I loved it… so did Lian!

…and I’ll have to end with this one for Lian too… It’s one of my ALL TIME VERY FAVORITE dresses! I mean ALL TIME!!! I designed it myself and just made it up as I went along…

I’ve got WAY more dresses but I’ve got to get to bed… it’s late…

Come back on Monday…I have a surprise! ;o)

See you then,
Blessings, Jeanne

    What fun–a Valentine fashion show!

The very first dress and Patsy’s last one were the same fabric, weren’t they, Jeanne? I love seeing how you can use the same fabric and come up with two (or more) totally different outfits!

I absolutely love what you did on the front of the “Peach of a Valentine” dress. That is such a creative way to use heart-shaped buttons!!

Of course, my favorites were the two modeled by Lian–maybe because I love your Lian, she’s so pretty!! I can see why that one is one of your absolute all time favorites; it’s truly lovely. But I love the pink/white/black one, too, and remember when you made it. It turned out fabulous!!

Yesterday Kathie asked how my foot was, so here’s the update: It’s better. Of course, two of my toes are now in Technicolor from big bruises, but they aren’t swollen any more, so that’s good. There is some swelling at the base of my toes yet, though, so if that continues, I’ll call my foot doctor and go see him next week. I do know that foot fractures don’t always show up in x-rays right away. But my foot isn’t nearly so painful any more, and I’m thinking of trying a regular shoe on that foot tomorrow, instead of the surgical one. Particularly if I go outside, I will want to have a closed-toe shoe on that foot because….

We have about 2″ of snow so far!! And it’s still snowing. I wouldn’t be surprised if our church’s Valentine lunch gets postponed. As I think I mentioned before, out here there are way too many long steep hills (and way too many drivers who don’t know how to drive in the snow! LOL) to make it worth taking a chance on driving any distance if you don’t Have to. Oh, and we actually have some icicles hanging off the eaves tonight–something that is even more rare than snow out here! Usually once the snow starts to melt, it’s all water.

    1. Thanks Charlotte,
I’m glad you enjoyed seeing a few of the dresses from past Valentine’s Days… If it hadn’t been so late, I would like to have added more… but this was maybe enough for everyone to enjoy!

I’m sorry, but I had to laugh just a bit when you said your toes were in Technicolor…

We’ve got snow too and it’s not going anywhere until this deep freeze gets shut down…right now the wind chill is -5 and I’ve got a pot of stew meat in the crock pot…I hope to get a few meals from it…
Stay warm and stay safe Charlotte,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  2. Glad t hear that Charlotte is healing so she can get out and enjoy that special snow. Hope she was able to get some pictures of the house with icicles too. ๐Ÿ™‚
I love the dress that Lanie is modeling. The red/green could be a dress for the winter holidays as well as for Valentine’s Day. And the last dress fabric is so sweet. Love that delicate pink and white with the peek of lace below. ๐Ÿ™‚
Such a busy time even with staying home. Happy Chinese New Year, and Happy Valentine’s Day tomorrow. It will be 45 years for us around here. Guess we’ll have to pick up lunch. ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. HI Joy,
That dress on Lanie WAS a Christmas dress before..on Rebecca… Christmas Rose… I only have a smidgen of the that fabric from Lian’s dress. I do have it in blue, but LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the pink…
Early congrats to you on 45 years, Joy… We’re just behind you with 40 years this coming September… I guess we both picked winners! :o)
      Blessings, Jeanne

  3. Glad to hear you’re on the mend, Charlotte.
I do agree with you, Joy about being so busy with staying at home. I get up and before I turn around it’d time to make supper. I tend to check in her while eating a quick lunch. What beautiful dresses to enjoy today. I’ve been outside taking care of porch kitties, the furry yard critters, and birds and battening down the hatches as we’re supposed to get as much as six inches of snow and very cold. Ugh! I want spring!!
Isabelle’s dress with her little candy box is so sweet. Eden’s dress is very lovely.
I see Lanie had the same fabric as “Christmas Rose”. That fabric is so pretty.
Love the heart button flowers on Patsy’s dress I can certainly see why Lian’s dress is one of your favorites. It has just about everything to make is beautifully feminine – ribbons, ribbon roses, a double flounce, pink flowers, and lace.
Happy Valentine’s Day to all the Sofa Sisters.

    1. HI Laura,
I don’t know what it is, but I seem busier now than I’ve ever been… trying to slow down and simplify things doesn’t seem to be working…
We’ve been watching a million birds fight over the birdseed at our feeders… it’s crazy out there with them zooming in and out like bats… a couple have even flown into our kitchen window… I hope they don’t crack it like they have before…
I’m glad you enjoyed seeing the dresses today…
      Blessings, Jeanne

Dear Jeanne, I loved the fashion show. All of the models are so well behaved (smile).

I have been “attending” the UFDC Valentine’s Day program today. Big fun!

I can’t wait to see what you have planned for Monday.

    Happy weekend!

    1. HI Dorothy,
I’m going to see if I can’t watch it another time as I’m painting today… sorry cabinets come before dolls right now… much to my dismay! :o)
      Oh you’ll like Monday… *wink*
Thanks and you have a happy weekend too!
      Blessings, Jeanne

    1. Thank you Connie,
I love to see some of my dresses in a slideshow just like everyone else… some I had even forgotten about…
      Thanks for your kind words.
      Blessings, Jeanne

  5. Maybe it is because my favorite color is pink …or red but those dresses are beyond pretty….they are fantastic. Some of my favorite ones too. That suit for tiny little Riley, and of course Lian and Patsy.
Glad your foot is better Charlotte๐Ÿค—
We got our first vaccines this morning and then went to lunch with our daughters…what a great day!
I forgot about the UFDC Virtual DOll day…so better check it out!

    1. HI Kathie,
Yes, I think we know you love the color pink…(that pink bathroom gave it away) and I’m glad you enjoyed the dresses today… Maybe I’ll have to do some more Valentine dresses just because!!!
I’m going to have to watch the video later as I’m painting! Yay!
      Blessings to you, Kathie,
      Jeanne

  6. I was missing yesterday, and while probably no one will see this, I am wishing you a Happy Valentine’s Day, Jeanne, as you celebrate with your Sweetie!

I loved the linup of your previous “projects”! Each one is darling and isn’t it amazing when you look back and see all the wonderful things you have done? You sure are one that is spreading prettiness around!!

  7. The Valentine’s Dress fashion show is so sweet and what great memories you have of all these beautiful dresses you have created over the years. Pink is not one of my favorite colors but you did it so gorgeous.

Glad your foot is better Charlotte. I hope it continues to heal and be safe if you go outside. One slip on the snow or ice and you’ll really damage it. Better to leave that boot on to go out even if it doesn’t make a fashion statement.

Happy Valentine’s Day to all the ladies here.
