Maryellen gives up her dress and Navi’s dress set is all finished…

It’s time for Maryellen to learn the rules at my house… When you come live with me, you get time in front of the camera modeling pretty things to wear… but they always have to go to someone else. Tonight Maryellen has reached that time when her dress ends on Ebay and it will be taken off and she’ll have to stand naked on the dolly shelf with all the other dolls…I haven’t broken the news to her yet, but will as soon as I get this post for Thursday written…

If you’d like to see what’s happening with Maryellen’s dress on Ebay, you can click on the picture of her at the right side bar or you can click HERE.

Sorry about Wednesday’s post being late… I had it all scheduled (just like I always do…) problem was I thought Wednesday was the 12th and it was scheduled for Thursday the 12th… Linda emailed me this morning and I fixed it asap!

I was a busy little thing today and even in the middle of finishing up Navi’s set, I made it to a friends house for pie and coffee… (I had hot chocolate!) It was delicious!

Okay, so are you ready for some fun pictures of tiny little 6 1/2″ Navi? I only wish the colors were better on my post. When I take the pictures with my phone’s camera, they look incredibly sharp and red and her skin looks so peaches and creamy like… but then when I post them on here, they look dull and she looks so pale… If I don’t use my Ott lights, her eye sockets just look like holes in her head, so I have to use “some” light, but it does seem to wash her out. I have tried tweaking them before I upload them but they still look a bit dull. I may have to move outside so I can capture the iridescent colors in her dress. This fabric is SO pretty in person and I want you to see it at least in some of the pictures.

So lets start at the beginning… here’s Navi getting dressed by the fireplace…

First, her panties…and a little bralette… (The bralette isn’t included…it’s just a piece of lace to cover her up..)
Then she slipped on her thigh highs…

Next on was her twirly slip… it’s full and really makes her dress stand out…

Then she put oh her pretty red shoes… (that look orangish in my pictures! ugh!)

Then it was time to get into her dress…

She found a mirror and put her hair bow in… all by herself!

Momma called her and said it was time to go shopping… so she grabbed her purse… it has a Scotty dog in red plaid on it and she loved it. She told momma she was glad she knew how to make her pretty dresses!

I was posing her in all different ways and didn’t realize her wig was going in all different ways either… I need to find a wig for her that isn’t quite so heavy in the bangs… I like a more wispy look on a tiny little girl like her…

Awww… that’s my littlest sweetie…

Here are 2 more pictures of what’s included with this dress set…(It’s NOT listed on Ebay yet, and there MAY be one more thing to go with it…) My hubby thought of a fun story line and I need one more thing…

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

Well, I Wondered about Wednesday’s post, and why it still wasn’t in my inbox when I shut down my laptop at shortly after 3 a.m. (Pacific time)! However, that still doesn’t explain why TUESDAY’S post didn’t arrive until well after 3 a.m.–and your blogs almost always arrives around 1 a.m. my time! Plus, the last couple of days I’ve only been getting the blog via WordPress–usually I get it twice, once via WordPress and once via gmail (I think it is), but the gmail one (if that’s what it is), which usually hits my inbox first, hasn’t come at all for two days.

I did comment on it in Tuesday’s post, and I know at least two people saw it (Anne, who posted after I did, and Barbara, who mentioned it in yesterday’s blog), but I don’t know if you did, Jeanne. Oh well, looks like we are back to almost-normal again.

Navi looks so cute in her new outfit! I can definitely see the shimmer in that fabric, and I do like the idea of adding a “necklace” by sewing it to the shoulders. No tiny clasps to mess with–yay! Now, for another accessory….

Did you know you can make “lollipops” for dolls with glass beads and toothpicks (or those longer bamboo skewers, if your doll is too tall for the toothpick)? Choose a pretty, candy-looking, clear-ish bead the right size for your doll, cut the point off one end of the toothpick and file the end smooth, then glue the pointed end into one end of the bead, leaving enough of a “stick” for dolly to hold. I think I got the idea from an old Doll Castle News, and thought it was so clever. So, maybe one of your dolls will have a yummy lollipop in her Christmas stocking this year???

    1. Hi Charlotte,
I thought I had everything set for Wednesday, but just got the dates wrong… I’ll try to watch that from now on…
Navi’s dress is going on Ebay in about 15 minutes or so… but that will give away my post for tomorrow… but that’s okay… who doesn’t mind seeing sweet Navi twice? Not me!
I’ve seen those lollipops like you are talking about and it would be a fun craft project for a little girls birthday party… (when we all can celebrate birthdays once again.) :o(
      Thanks Charlotte,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  2. The pictures Iโ€™m looking at are not at all washed out. Her shoes are a lovely rich red in every photo. She is sooo adorable. I might say that every time I see her!

    1. HI Julia,
As cute as Navi is, there is nothing quite like her holding her tiny little body in your hand… just one hand… and she fits perfectly! I do love her so…
      Thanks Julia,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  3. I’m so happy to find the blog today at the normal time, to get ME started on the day! It just isn’t right without reading the blog with my coffee first thing in the morning, Jeanne!

Sweet little Navi looks just adorable in her new outfit! Yes, on my computer, her shoes do look orange, but not too much. I’m sure you would not make oragne shoes with a red dress!! That purse is so cute! What kind of fabric is it made of?

The fireplace scene is so cute, but I guess it doesn’t work for the AG dolls due to the size! I can imagine that her mommy is taking her to the local department store to tell Santa what she wants for Christmas and get her picture taken with him! Then again, George might have a better story!

Charlotte, that is a darling idea about doll lollipops! If I had beads laying around , I might try that, since it looks so easy!

    1. Thank you Linda… you are too kind with your kind comments about my blog posts. I’m glad you enjoy them so much…and glad I am missed when you don’t see one… :o)
Yes, sweet little Navi is just that…sweet and adorable all wrapped up in one…
Yes, those shoes ARE red… maybe you’ll see that in the pictures tomorrow.
The purse is made from a metallic gold fabric.. not quite a lame’ but something similar.
I have 3 of those little fireplaces… all different but I think this one is my favorite… it seems to be more 3D than the others.
George did have the story this time… you’ll see…
      Thanks so much Linda,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  4. I really like the little bralette. I think you should include it if you can. Love the fireplace scenes too. The photos look good, except the overexposed one of the full dress. Fun little purse too. Everything is so cute. Navi definitely will be trying to stash this one away so you can’t find it. ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Hi Joy,
I’ll see about adding some little straps to Navi’s bralette and sending it along as a surprise to the winner.
It will go on Ebay in a few minutes.. I actually got it listed! Yay me!
      Thanks Joy,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  5. I don’t have trouble with the colors of your pictures. The shoes look very red. What a wonderful ensemble. Wish I had a Navi. I love the fireplace. Pixie Faire has patterns for fireplaces for AG dolls in several styles. I have them but I haven’t made one yet.

The comment about Navi’s momma making her such pretty dresses brought to mind a conversation one year at Easter when my daughter was about eight. I always made her Christmas and Easter dresses. I loved doing the lace and ruffle thing. We were waiting for the egg hunt to start and a woman I was talking to looked at Andrea and asked her did she realize how lucky she was to have a mommy who could make her such pretty dresses. Andrea looked at her like huh? I said she assumes that’s a normal thing.

I like Charlotte’s lollipop idea. I have tons and tons of beads. My kids were doing those bead crosses one year and their dad wanted them to have a lot of color choices for beads, so he went and bought beads in every color they came in. But all of them are pony beads and I don’t think they would work well for the lollipops. I do have a few of another type bead I bought to crochet rings so I can try those, but I’m still left trying to figure out what to do with all those pony beads.

    1. HI Barbara,
I think EVERYONE wishes they could have a Navi or one of the other Twinkles… I’d like to have another one too, but Navi will have to do for now…
My kids used to be the same way.. I made them everything so what was the big deal, didn’t everyone’s mom?
There is ALWAYS another project to do, isn’t there? Beaded lollipops now… I can’t start anything new… I’ve gotta get a suit altered for a guy at church… I said I’d do it Monday and here it is Thursday and still I haven’t gotten to it… maybe tomorrow or even later tonight…
      Thanks Barbara,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  6. I’m surprised that no one has asked how you produced the scottie on Navi’s purse. Some of the pictures show the fabric in what I think are its true colors, but I’d love to see a couple of outdoor ones to see what it looks like in sunlight.
Your mention of hot chocolate was so inspiring that I went into the kitchen and made some for myself.
I love your setting. Is it too small for Ten Ping? It is so perfect that it deserves more use. I especially like the way all the red in the setting picks up the red in Navi’s dress.

    1. HI Marilyn,
The Scotty dog on Navi’s purse is just a button…I’ve had it for a long time and it was such a good match with her dress, I had to find a way to use it. I think Anne guessed it was a button…
You got your wish because tomorrow’s post will show some outside pictures… or you can just check out the auction…which I just got listed on Ebay! Yay for me!
I almost had some more hot chocolate a few minutes ago.. and still might… it’s cold in our house tonight… windy outside and 48 degrees.
No, my Christmas setting should work for Ten Ping as well. She’s only about 1 1/2″ taller than Navi, so it should work.
I had fun with this one… and I hope someone else will think they can too! ;o)
      Thanks Marilyn,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  7. The outfit is just lovely. I don’t know how you work on such a small scale! I’m guessing that the little Scottie dog is a button? The little bag is so sweet.
I didn’t get Wednesday’s blog at all, I had to read it this morning using today’s list of past blogs. Reading the comments from Barbara made me laugh, it sounds like my sewing room! We have a free table at our guild meeting where people offload stuff they don’t want and I can never walk past it without bringing something new home! So along with all the stuff I have used for projects and not put away, I have all this other stuff too. I won the block of the month draw last week too so I have 6 blocks of cats to put together. Even the table I use for my cake decorating is covered with fabric and on Tuesday I have to provide some items for a cake stall, in two weeks I have to have a cake for a baby shower for my foster daughter’s daughter on the Saturday and on the Sunday it is the Christmas Market that I am making stuff for. In three weeks I usually give a Christmas cake to our guild for a raffle oh and did I mention I volunteered to write a nativity play and direct it for two presentations one on 22 Dec and one on 24th! Me and my big mouth.
So pleased things are back to normal, like Linda my morning coffee is not the same without checking what you have to say Jeanne and then reading all your comments.

    1. Can’t say you are not busy, Anne! Didn’t know you decorate cakes too. Don’t know how you can do all of this. Do you use magic?? ๐Ÿ™‚

    2. HI Anne,
I think you just get used to making small things and then you don’t even think about it… you just do it. I thought you’d get a kick out of her tiny little shoulder purse… I braided 3 strands of floss to get the strap and you were right …the Scotty dog is a button I’ve had forever!

My goodness, you are one busy woman, Anne. I’d have to have a calendar hanging around my neck to make sure I was on the right day and delivering the right cake to the right event! I do some of my best work under stress, but as I’ve gotten older, I’m liking things a little more calm. :o)
      Thanks Anne,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  8. If she isnโ€™t the cutest thing! I just kept waiting for her to smile when she got the whole outfit on. Love the way it looks like she is dancing. The shoes still amaze me…tiny….tiny!
The perfect size plaid for her little tiny self.๐Ÿ˜Š love her undies…for the cuteness factor maybe adding them is a great idea. That stretchy lace is so easy to work with.
    Hope it sells ASAP๐Ÿค—

    1. HI Kathie,
I’ll answer you… Yes, she IS the cutest thing… she doesn’t smile much, but she lets me know when she’s happy…she loved the slip and I “think” I saw a tiny smile! :o)
I’m still trying to perfect my shoes… If I made a pair each day, maybe I’d have it down pat, but when you go as long as I do between making them, you forget what you did before that worked so well. I’ll get it one of these days!
I did add the panties to the auction… it’s on Ebay now… :o)
      Thanks Kathie,
      Blessings, Jeanne
