Hi everyone,
I hope you had a nice 4th of July and got to see some spectacular fireworks. We didn’t go anywhere to see them, but we certainly heard them all around us and are still hearing them today.
I did go to Hobby Lobby Saturday morning and found some smaller glass beads in Opaque Dark Red. I strung them together on a stretch thread for jewelry and attached a magnetic clasp on the end. This makes it super easy to put on your doll.
I didn’t necessarily make it short like a choker…
It can be worn a little bit away from Felicity’s neck…
… or you can drape it just a bit to the back with the magnetic clasp hanging down just a bit if you want to cover the joint where the vinyl meets her cloth body… like this.
I did a little more searching for a different style cap, but eventually decided to make her a typical Pinner Cap… I’ve cut it out and sat it on her head. I’ve got the ruffle ready to add, but haven’t gotten that far.
Now… let’s see what Paula has to share… you’ll enjoy this.
Hi Jeanne,
The first picture is of the Ivy Ling doll I got for my birthday. She’s wearing a modern outfit because I decided to let her be with the modern girls. Still want to come up with a different name though. Ivy is a used doll in good condition in her box and I have her meet outfit and meet accessories – earrings and coin and pink beret. And the red kimono. And her book. Which I haven’t read yet. I love her black blunt cut hair, I’ve wanted her for along time.
The second picture are my three Scottish Madam Alexander dolls – all dressed differently in their kilts.
In looking through my pictures, I came across my wedding picture but it doesn’t show the long train and veil. When my father stepped away as I walked up the steps to be with Gregg, my dad was standing on my veil and didn’t realize it. So, as I walked up to the altar area, my tiara slid back with my veil! My tiara was crooked in almost every wedding picture! We still laugh about that. And I don’t know why my husband wasn’t smiling in this picture. In May of this year, we celebrated 54 years of marriage.
The last two pictures are of our toy poodle. The last picture shows her lack of modesty! Her name is Darling Gidget of Doheny Beach. Gidget for short. She’s a character alright but very very loving and sweet and quite the baby.
I thought I should send a nicer picture of Gidget with the other 2. It shows her in a better pose! I love the way she sits. She has a big nose – it’s much like a fruit bat – and we love the fruitbats on YouTube where the lady in Australia who rescues them explains her rehabilitation program.
I know most of my pictures have nothing to do with dolls or sewing. I’m just sharing what we love.
Thank Jeanne. Love you. Paula
Thank you Paula… I’m so glad we navigated back and forth until you got the pictures to come to me. YAY! Your pictures will certainly give everyone more to talk about than my red necklace. Yes, that last picture is a VERY sweet picture of Gidget. It was nice chatting with you earlier!
Okay everyone, start chattering! :o)
Okay Jeanne, start sewing! :o)
See everyone tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne
