Hi everyone,
I just now realized I missed my 12th Blogiversary on August 1st… July and August have been such a blur, I can’t even think off hand where I was or what happened on that day, but something must have, because I wouldn’t normally have missed it. It seems surreal that I’ve been writing posts since August 1st, 2014 and how many friends I have made all around the world! Thank you for coming back to see what’s going on with my part of the world… I can’t WAIT to get my blog fixed and have things be normal again. Well, as normal as can be right now.
I decided to look back at my posts on a few of my previous anniversaries… Here was last years…

AAARRRGGG! I have tried for over an hour to get the links posted for my previous Blogiversaries…and it shows they are on my page, but when I try to look at them they aren’t there. I’m sorry, but it’s so frustrating, I’m giving up! This is crazy! Call me a quitter, because I AM tonight! Well, I kept trying and a few things came up. I decided to leave them as something is better than nothing. Sorry!!!

How about when I hit the 8th year!
Anyone remember?
It was 8 years ago today that I pushed that “publish” button and submitted my very first blog post! I was nervous as nervous could be, wondering what might happen…and look what’s happened since then! I’m celebrating my 8th Anniversary… or as some say, my 8th Blogiversary! :o)
My very first post was published at 8:00 in the morning on August 1st, 2014! I had 15 people who checked me out and 5 commented and let me know they were looking forward to what was ahead… Sally was the very first one to make a comment and was I so excited I almost screamed when I saw her comment in the afternoon. Then Christine commented, and then my sister, Cindy, wished me all good things, then Jeannie Brandon and last for the first day was Sissy! I was beyond excited and haven’t looked back once! It was a good day!
Then on my second day, I got comments from Sherry, Trish, Hertha, Jeannie again, Linda Marie, Sissy again and Linda Doyle joined in.
My second post was a BIG ONE!
I won’t go through and tell you when everyone signed up and what I wrote about on each day, but just wanted to look back and see how I began this whole process… My first month I had a total of 503 hits for the entire month! (I just closed out July 2022 with over 12,000 hits for the month!) :o)
I didn’t know how to start up a blog/website, but a very dear friend of mine, set up my blog and gave me some pointers on how to run it… Sarah just set my blog up the way I wanted it and showed me how to add pictures and how to answer comments. I’ve come a LONG way since then, and still don’t know the technical side of how things work very well… but somehow I manage to figure things out. Sarah has been wonderful at helping me when I’ve had any issues… and she’s going to help me soon; to get my Etsy shop connected back to my blog… so you can go back and forth.
I’ve written 2568 posts over the last 8 years. The first 2 years I didn’t miss a single day of posting… then I decided to start taking Sundays off. I divided 2568 posts by 8 years and came up with an average of 321 posts a year. That means in a year I only leave 44 days with nothing for you… (gotta give you a break every so often!) :o)
So what have I learned in 8 years?
I have learned how kind you all are! How thoughtful you are! How caring you are! How friendly and funny you can be! How excited you can get when talking about new dolls or the ones you already own! I’ve learned how wonderful ladies who care about dolls care about each other and it still amazes me how kind and generous you are to each other in the comments and in real life. I know you all have lots of differing backgrounds and opinions, but somehow when it comes right down to it, being ladies who enjoy dolls or sewing for them, has a kind of bond that makes us enjoy each other even though we are different! I sometimes imagine us sitting on that huge SOFA and just behaving like SISTERS…chattering a mile a minute and getting to put a face to a name! Wouldn’t that really be fun?
What do I expect to learn in the next 8 years?
Who knows… but I’m willing and ready to see what happens! I hope you’ll be right there with me, exploring the next hot doll or the next dress I make or the newest sewing gadget! I appreciate you all SO MUCH and it has been my pleasure to be your “leader” (which I really don’t consider my forte), but will do the best I can as we march ahead.

Who remembers when I had my 5th Blogiversary?
And… how about my FIRST Blogiversary? I never thought I could think of enough things to write about to last a whole year! :o)
