One more day of Easter dresses… but on Monday, there will be a fashion show you’ll love!!!

Hi everyone,
I have a few more Easter dresses to show you and there are probably a few I’ve missed, but nobody will ever know…

I also listed some shoes in my Etsy shop. I finally pulled the plug and decided instead of keeping them in a box, I’d sell them. You can find them by clicking this link…

I Dream of Jeanne Marie Etsy Shop

Now to some more dresses… First up is Nurse Riley in a pretty lavender dress set… (I’m SURE this will be Charlottes favorite…right?)

Here is another one on Nurse Riley… I can’t knit, so I made this from a knitted fabric and lined it with the dress fabric.

I found this vintage embroidered hankie at an antique shop and loved how it worked out for Riley’s dress.

Riley looked so sweet in this soft and dainty fabric.

Here is Patsy Tonner in one of my ALL TIME FAVORITE fabrics. I loved this print.

This might be my FAVORITE Easter dress ever made. Of course, you KNOW I love Lian, and she just looked SO PRETTY this time!

I was searching for this sweet dress on Patsy Tonner… and almost didn’t find it. Patsy looks so pretty in this color…

Here is Ten Ping in last year’s Easter Dress with her favorite Little Lambie!

And I finally found the last set of Ten Ping (before she had her faceup from Lana Dobbs.) Here she is in a Hot pink and black Easter dress… those little black and white felt shoes were some of my very first try at playing cobbler.

Well, I’m done with Easter dresses… Hope you enjoyed them all…
I hope everyone has a wonderful Easter and enjoys all that you have planned.
May the Lord bless you on this very special day!
Blessings, Jeanne

You know me too well, Jeanne! And that particular shade of lavender is my very most favorite of all the pretty purples available! I love everything about that dress!!

But I also like her pink print with the flowers embroidered on the yoke–they remind me of sweet peas, which were my dad’s favorite flower. Lian’s dress and hat are just lovely, and I think that last outfit on TenPing is simply wonderful! I have always like bright pink and black together, and I rather doubt I had Gigi yet when you made that outfit, or I would surely have remembered it (and probably bid on it, too)!

A most blessed Easter to all those who celebrate it. We are having a planned potluck breakfast at church, followed by a worship service. Ron, last I heard, plans to attend both. (It’s either that or he would have to stay home, as there isn’t enough time for me to eat breakfast up there, come back and get him, and get back in time to play the prelude!)

    1. HI Charlotte,
I just knew you’d love that lavender colored dress… I thought she looked so pretty in that color… but as I look at my dresses for the little dolls, I realize how they would look better if they were shorter…

I hope you have a wonderful time with your hubby this Easter…
      Blessings, Jeanne

Thank you for the Easter Parade this week. From Linda, her 18 inch girls, and Laura’s darling kitties and Anaelle ready for Easter to Jeanne’s magnificent parade of dresses that just scream “winter is finally over”! So many beautiful dresses in all different sizes. I could never pick a winner.

    Happy Easter to all.

    Debbie

    1. Thank you Debbie,
I’m glad you enjoyed the pictures this week… Yes, Winter just might be over… for most of us!
Thank you and Happy Easter to you too!
      Blessings, Jeanne

Enjoyed seeing the little bunch. We still have Riley and some of her friends around here. And yes, shorter dresses are a great idea. 🙂 Love the spring colors, special additions, and designs on this group.
We’re heading down to see the grands on Sunday. Hope the rain clears as it is starting in again right now.
Have a wonderful weekend and enjoy spring if you can find it. 🙂

    1. HI Joy,
I think Spring has found us! Today it’s supposed to get up to 71! Yippee!!
If I had started my blog back when I was making Riley dresses, I’m sure I would have gotten some hints about making the dresses shorter. I just learned it a little too late… Thanks for all your help and hints and suggestions… I appreciate them.
Have a great time with your grands and family this Easter weekend.
      Blessings, Jeanne

I saw your comment yesterday about the girls dressing themselves. What really made me think twice about that idea was I envisioned the mess I would have to deal with in the dressing room when they were finished.

  5. What a wonderful collection of Easter dresses for the week. I also especially liked the lavender outfit on Riley. I’d like to see some of these recreated for the Fashion Friends as closely as possible. The gingham trims added such sweet accents. I also liked that some of the sleeves weren’t overly puffie 50’s style. As far as length, for a while “tea length” was a very strong influence and still is for some fashions and styles. I wouldn’t have changed any of them.
    Happy Easter to all.

    1. HI Dorothy,
Thank you for your sweet compliments… although I just told Joy, if I had been writing my blog back in the day of Riley, I might have been given suggestions to shorten the dresses.
I personally like the tea length dresses, but maybe I need to think differently for the smaller dolls.
Have a wonderful Easter yourself, Dorothy,
      Blessings, Jeanne

I agree with your comment on the length of the dresses. I love tea length dresses, even on little girls. I have a friend who has five daughters. One year she and her girls came to our house after church. The girls were all 12 and under and had on beautiful tea length dresses. I often wished I had taken a picture. They looked so beautiful and feminine.

  6. Linda in St. Louis

Here I am Jeanne, a little bit late, actually a LOT late! We enjoyed an outing of the Mo. Botanical Gardens this morning, and it was just beautiful! Spring is definitely here!

The first thing I noticed was that beautiful smocked dress on Lian! How beautiful that dress is! I’m a sucker for smocking, and just love that outfit! I just love pink in the spring!

May everyone who celebrates have a blessed Easter!

  7. Lian smocked dress is beautiful. I love smocking as well. Add me to the club for tea length dresses. I think they look so lovely and feminine.
Blessed Good Friday to everyone and a Happy Resurrection Easter Day as well.

Another day of jaw-dropping beauty. It all makes me realize I need to get back to doing some hand embroidery. Having an embroidery machine can make one a little lazy I guess and now there are designs that emulate things like French knots and ribbon embroidery. I used to do a lot of hand embroidery and plastic canvas and made some pretty things but embellishing wearing attire wasn’t something I did. Ribbon embroidery is so pretty and I have everything I need to do bullion stitches just haven’t tried it yet. So many of my doll patterns call for hand embroidery and bullion flowers. I just skip that step.

Wishing all my sofa sisters a lovely Easter. After services Thursday and Friday evening, a birthday party tomorrow afternoon and Easter service on Sunday, I think we’ll just come home after church Sunday and crash. After we go to Red Lobster of course. We don’t have plans to meet Sean and family because our church services don’t make that easy on special days. Sure do miss the days when we all attended the same church but we’re just glad they have found a church they and the children like. They changed because there was nothing for older children at our previous church and when we changed they were already happy with where they were. Since Skyy is nearly 14 and Jaiden 12 they wanted some place that had programs the kids could participate in and their current church provides for that. They even have an after-school program on Wednesday evening where they can get help with homework, play games and they even get a meal.

Dear Jeanne, Happy Easter to you and to the wonderful Sofa Sisters!

I hope that the Easter Bunny hops to everyone’s house with baskets full of goodies.
I also wish for you all baskets full of Easter blessings.

And in case anyone is wondering, there are only 33 days until May 1. I see Maypole dancing on the horizon (laugh).

  10. Sissy Lingle on the GA coast

    Dear Jeanne, and the sisters,

Wishes for a blessed Easter to each of you. I loaded 2 large bags of plastic eggs today and looking forward to seeing the kids arriving at our parish house . We have a brunch and egg hunt before church. I will make the “Chruch Easter Brunch Casserole” tomorrow and cook it Sunday am.

Jeanne I did send some photos but you seem to have plenty, so don’t bother with them if you don’t need them.
    hugs,
    Sissy
