Vintage dolls in Pennsylvania…

Well, I certainly was blessed last night with how my doll auctions ended… super blessed would be more like it. Thank you to those who bid on things and won…

It took me several hours to get everything boxed up…so thanks to Cindy, she saved the day!!

If you see anything you like here, you’ll have to go to Pennsylvania to find them. They are in the Yesteryear Antique Mall where my sister Cindy has a booth. She took these pictures of a doll booth and shared them with me. I’m sure you’ll enjoy the rest of them.

Do you see any dolls you had as a child or still have today?

That’s it for today…
See you tomorrow!
Blessings, Jeanne

Congratulations on your Very successful auctions, Jeanne! I meant to come back to the computer and watch the last few minutes of the Felicity auction, but I forgot. It must have been pretty interesting, with so many bids (and most of them well before the deadline, too!).

Ooh, more dolly pictures!! In that first one, the little blonde in the pink and blue dress is, I think, a vintage Ideal doll–if not a Toni doll, something similar. Her wig is gorgeous!! And I have my aunt’s Kewpie doll who is wearing, I think, a romper very similar to that one. Sadly, her composition isn’t so nice any more.

The Shirleys all appear to be newer; the Madame Alexanders are always fun!!

Linda, I noticed yesterday you said you had lost another comment. That happens to me sometimes, but in my case, it’s because my wifi isn’t very strong (I live just far enough away from the satellite….), so I have learned to refresh the wifi (actually I click on the little wifi signal, disconnect the wifi, then immediately reconnect it) before I hit Reply, and that usually prevents that from happening. Of course, yours could be caused by something else completely. Very frustrating in either case!

  2. I am so excited that I won the bidding on the Diane Effner dolls! Can hardly wait until they get here! Thank you!

Congratulations, Helen on winning those lovely Diana Effner dolls! What a wonderful way to start the year!

Charlotte, it is just me with my terrible typing that gets me to losing my comments. I push something accidentally, and poof, away they go! I do not have tiny hands!!!

Great display of dolls today, Jeanne and Cindy! They all look like dolls from my childhood, and the one Shirley Temple doll with the tyrolean costume reminds me of my Sonja Henie doll with ice skates that I got when I was 9. She was a beautiful doll with those plastic teeth like the Shirley Temple dolls have there. No painted teeth like AG dolls have!

The Kewpie doll is just like the one my sister had. I would have loved looking at those dolls when a girl, not to mention playing with them! I was a “doll person” to the core!

Dear Jeanne, congratulations on another successful auction!

Oh my goodness, these dolls are amazing. I think my Doll Club is going to be taking a Spring trip there! They love to go to antique malls where there are beautiful dolls.

Have fun with your Sister Time!

Hope there isn’t snow on Jeanne’s trip. So cold this morning here that it feels like snow, but nope. Just frost and only in the 40’s. Cold for us. 🙂
Most of the dolls today were before my doll collecting years or out of reach in price in my youth. I never had any MA dolls because of that.
But, I just opened my new Mini Ginny doll. Well, not new, but second hand. They are so cute with almost any of the bigger dolls as their dolly and do look like the Ginny’s of old.
Glad to hear that Jeanne has been doing well on her auctions. Looking forward to seeing more upon her return. Hope the sisters have some time to explore the local Springfield antique stores too,
    Keep warm everyone.

One of the Madame Alexanders looked like one of the Little Women dolls. My sister Sue has the set as well as a Scarlet O’Hara I gave her for HS graduation.

  7. It’s cool to see your blog still running strong! I found your guide for sewing buttons like flowers that you made back in 2015 a while ago, & decided to come check the rest of your page out. Hope you’re doing well!

    1. I AM doing well, and my blog is going strong, just as you mentioned. This is my 9th year running and in August I will hit my 10th Anniversary.
I hope you’ll stick around and join in the fun we have here.
      Blessings, Jeanne
