Two changes for my Boneka doll, Noel’s, Valentine set…

Thanks, everyone, for your kind comments on how cute Noel looks in this new Valentine set. You should see her in person!! The brown is a rich chocolate brown and mixed with the bright pink tones, she looks very elegant in this…even better than I imagined in my head. As I was looking at the brown and pink combination, I remembered something I made for myself a LONG time ago. I know it was a brown corduroy with pink polka dots on it, but I can’t remember what it was… I’m thinking it was a jacket and skirt, or maybe a jumper…I just can’t remember. Anyway, it pulled me down memory lane trying to think of what it was.

Oh well, I guess we’ll move on to some new pictures of Noel in this set…

I did get some embroidery work done on the side of Noel’s pants… it was just what they needed… a little pick me up pants design! :o)

And Linda, here is a picture of the pants showing they are the same length… Just wanted to make sure that was clear to everyone.

My hubby and I had to pick up the Church vans and get them to the mechanic this morning, so on our way back home, I ran in Walmart for a minute and found a package in the jewelry/craft department that had 10 yards of gold chain. (that’s enough to make about 80 or more purse straps.) I like it much better the way it hangs…

Also, on my way back home from Springfield, about 2 weeks ago, we stopped at a Goodwill and I found this brand new container of Museum “Gel”… I know Susette is always talking about Museum “Wax”, for holding things in place, so this must be it’s “cousin!” It’s clear, but not wet… it’s like putty but not sticky. I just dabbed my finger in it and pulled out a small pea size ball of it… it just rolled into a ball and I placed it in the palm of Noel… then I stuck the purse chain in it. It worked PERFECTLY! I was impressed. I have no idea how much it normally runs, but I paid $4.74 and know I’ll definitely be using it again… Thanks Susette!

While I was in Walmart today, I went down the Valentine candy aisle and was looking for something brown and pink… for Noel’s treat to the winner. Look what I found… She was thrilled when I got back home and showed it to her.

Okay, so NOW I think I’m done… NOW, you know what that means… I’ll do my best!

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

Love the embroidery on her pants legs! So cute!

I’m glad you found that length of chain; definitely the right size links for her! I didn’t mind the other purse handle but this is better.

Yay for museum gel! I think I have some here, but never thought to use it to fix things in place while taking dolly pictures!! Great idea!!

Yes, the perfect “accessory” for Noel’s outfit. After all, we all need a little chocolate now and then!

A Valentine Delight! So sweet, Jeanne, and there is nothing I would change at all! The little flowers on the pants legs, the darling dress, jacket, bonnet, shoes and purse, just perfect! Don’t you ever make a darling outfit and just want to keep it? I wouldn’t blame you one bit if this was it!

I can’t believe the things you find at stores that are so chock full, and still seem to be able to find what you can use, and at great prices too! And here I thought you had to go to the Art Museum to get museum wax!

The paper dolls and candy bar are just what you needed to make this a “Valentine Special!”

So glad you found some Museum Gel. Being clear, it’s even better to use with the small dolls. It’s always been on eBay along with Quake Wax. It’ll hold the paper items too without damaging them.

The whole ensembles is so cute. Cool to find the matching Hershey bar and the chain for necklaces and purses. The bits of embroidery make such a signature impression on the pieces you create.

Oh yes, love the embroidery on the bottom of the pants. Ties them in with the outfit so well. I’m sure Noel is looking forward to her photos on Ebay, as she is just the sweetest. )
Some time ago, I wrote to the company that makes Museum Wax and asked if it could be safely used on vinyl? Their reply was that it was made for glass and they didn’t know if it would be safe for vinyl. I’m sure that they have since tested it, but to be safe, I wouldn’t leave it on a doll for long periods of time. Not sure about painted resin dolls, like LD’s, but I wouldn’t want to damage any doll that may be painted. I’d be curious to hear if anyone has left it on a doll for a long time and the results. I do occasionally use a piece of earplug wax on the top of a dolls head to hold on a wig and have had good results.
Hope everyone’s temps are warming up. We had rain again last night.

The embroidery on the pants really gives them a finishing touch. This is a precious outfit on its own but with all the additions it’s pretty irresistible. When I did my winter scene I used museum wax to hold the “snowballs” on the hands of the girls having the snowball fight. It came off their hands fine but the pom poms I used for snowballs were not salvageable. But I knew that was likely to happen and they were expendable. Joy mentioned using earplug wax to hold things on. I have some of that and will give it a try when I feel the museum wax won’t be the best thing to use. Hadn’t thought of that.

It’s been raining here for the past three days. I think I’m getting cabin fever. I can’t even get to my trash cans due to the water around them. It’s rained so much nothing is soaking in. Wish we could save some of this for those long summer days with no rain. Our farmer in Kansas says this is the first time in about two years they feel good about the soil moisture going into spring. But the good thing is the temps are in the high 60s/low 70s so we don’t have to worry about ice.

  6. Cute outfit, Jeanne! Love the embroidery.
A great product for securing small doll accessories and for keeping wigs in place is Mack’s Silicone Ear Plugs. It’s sold in the ear product section of nearly all pharmacies including Walmart, Target, grocery store pharmacies, Walgreen’s, CVS, etc. And it’s inexpensive. One caution: Do not let it touch the hair on a wig or anything fuzzy like felt or a cotton snowball.
To secure a wig, roll a small ball of Mack’s, press it lightly onto the inside crown of the wig cap, position the wig and then press on the outside of the wig crown to secure the wig. Mack’s can be carefully peeled off the inside of the wig cap but it will not easily come off the hair!

I’ve heard from others that if you put the wig in the freezer, the wax comes off the hair easily. Haven’t tried it myself.

Dear Jeanne, I like the purse chain also. Oh and yeaaa for the Hershey bar! I spent many Summers of my youth in Hershey Park.

Hershey Park and Dorney Park, two amusement parks I enjoyed in my youth. Have you ever been to Roadside America? went once as a child and been back twice with my own children and the last time we took my mother so she could see how much it had grown. Sadly it is no more since the family did not want to manage it any longer and they couldn’t find a buyer.

Dear Barbara, yes, I loved Roadside America! I remember when my father took me there. I was so sad to see it close.
