Part 2 of the 2023 Year in Review for my Doll Dresses!

First things first! This is a REMINDER that Noel’s “Old Fashioned Valentine” Dress set ends this evening on Ebay! I hope if you haven’t seen it, you’ll take a peek and if you have, I hope you’ll take a second peek! I’ve already taken the dress off Noel and she’s being used for something else… I’ll show you soon!

If you’d like to see the Ebay listing, click the picture at the right side bar, or click HERE.

NOW… to continue with viewing all the dresses I made last year. We ended with Freida in her Civil War Charmer set… if you missed the first half of my dresses, click HERE to see that post… Then come back here for May through December dresses.

We were in the month of May (Dorothy’s favorite month!!!) and here’s a real cutie… it’s Emmie in a pretty blue and white dress called “Positively Precious!”

For today’s dresses, I took Linda’s advice and added an extra picture or two, where I could, of all the pieces laid out so you could see the different possibilities for each set.

This next set is of the Ruby Red Fashion Friends, Freida, in “Sunflowers Charmer.” This one was another really fun set to make..

Now we have moved into June and here is Ten Ping in “4th of July Fever.”

Here was another set I had a lot of fun with… so many pieces with so many possibilities.

Kirsten is wearing a dress I called “Darling Dirndl” and she DID look darling!

Violette is back on the modeling table, wearing a fun denim short, jeans, sandals, and 2 purse set.

Ten Ping never looked so cute as she did in “Littlest Scholar.” I had SO much fun making her the tiniest pair of leather loafers.

Next up in October was Freida again, in “Fall Fever.” My favorite part of this set was the denim jacket. I do need to make another one of those.

Stella brought us into November in “Welcome Fall.” By repurposing a boiled wool rust colored fabric, I made the cutest accessories for her.

Then Felicity cabbaged on that same rust colored wool fabric in “Colonial Stroll.” I think Felicity looked wonderful in this!

Tiny little Mini Bailey, a My Meadows doll, challenged me to make my first tiny little suitcase, as she was the “Tiny Traveler.” I truly enjoyed making this one too! It’s so much fun to enjoy what you do!

Noel got to be the first AND unfortunately the LAST little doll from my collection who modeled a Christmas dress. Here is Noel in “Winter’s Song!”

James actually got the last outfit of the year… A Christmas medley of LOTS of different pieces…including an adorable newsboy cap!

Well, those were the dresses I made the second half of 2023. I’ve used Linda’s idea for the pictures on Friday and added a few more to most of the sets already. Tuesday I will combine all the pictures in one post and you can vote on your top 3 favorites… Pick a number 1, a number 2 and a number 3. Then I’ll see which doll wins top model of 2023! You can vote in the comments below the post, or you can hit the Contact Me tab up under the header of my blog post and let me know your choices.

Thanks for all of you who cheered me on in 2023, with your compliments on the outfits I made, the bids you placed, the bids you WON, the ideas you gave me, the critiques I sometimes asked for, your suggestions when I was stumped, and especially for your friendship! I love what I do and love that YOU love what I do too!

I’ll see you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

So many cute choices tonight!! I’m truly torn. I love the little summer ensembles you made for Violette, and Kirsten’s pretty dress, and of course who can resist anything on Emmie?! I think she’d look good in a gunny sack! James’s outfit was wonderful, too, as was TenPing’s. Decisions, decisions….

    1. Hi Charlotte,
I’m not sure I can even pick 3 favorites either! I’m glad everyone is helping me.
      Have fun at least looking…
      Thanks Charlotte,
      Blessings, Jeanne

Jeanne, I’m not sure how in the world we are supposed to pick three outfits from all of these wonderful creations! I like that you showed other pictures of the outfits, since some of them consisted of many pieces, and one picture could not capture all that was included.

So, how do we vote? Is it a secret ballot or do we just say which ones we pick? Maybe you will be telling us that tomorrow.

    1. Hi Linda…
I know it will be hard to vote… I can’t even decide!
I didn’t number them as the number has to be put on the picture when it is posted… so ill probably just have you vote by the dolls name and the title given to that outfit.
      Thanks Linda,
      Blessings, Jeanne

    2. Happy Monday! A fun way to start the week to see all the projects lined up and seeing all the pieces together was a good idea😉 I do have a favorite from this group. Will see if it is still my fav tomorrow.
It is a sunny day today so I must get busy.
I was bad and bought an 18” Ann Estelle over the weekend. I had sworn to not buy any more dolls but she is so pretty and even comes with a pattern to make her a dress. She is a doll I have an eBay search running on for several years so just couldn’t pass her up. My Doll club gals will be proud. Our club name is “ Can’t Stop Collecting Doll Club”😉🫢

      1. Hi Kathie, Good job living up to your Doll Club’s name. Ann Estelle is too cute. I have all the old Mary Engelbreit Home Companion magazines and enjoy the paper dolls that came in each issue. Ann Estelle was featured predominantly.

Congrats the big AE. I’ve always wanted one too. Here we have, I think all of the 10″ kids. They are pretty cute. 🙂

      3. HI Kathie,
I’m so happy you got your dream girl… I looked in the completed AE dolls and saw her… I saw the pattern too… cute dress. You’ll have fun with her. LOVE the name of your doll club. You may have shared that before, but I had forgotten. You can take her next month and have show and tell!
        Congrats,
        Jeanne

So, tomorrow, you’ll show all of the pics, and they will be numbered so that all we have to do is list the numbers of our top three pics?? Or that is how I think it will go. Going to be tough to choose with all of the great selections.
Well, I just ordered a cute redhead RRFF girl, Penelope, from the French dealer this morning. I think she arrives in May. Bad me. 🙂
We had wonderful 73 degree weather yesterday, and it looks like it will continue today. But, Wednesday, we’re back to lots of rain once again.

    1. Hi Joy,
I just explained how it will probably work to Linda… but I might be able to add something in text by the outfit before I combine the pictures tomorrow.

I saw Penelope last night… she is very pretty.. love that long red hair! So glad you got her… you and Dorothy will now be doing a countdown to May!

      Thanks Joy,
      Blessings, Jeanne

I went back and looked at those from yesterday. This is going to be very hard as I might not like the dress but love the shoes or candy. So, I guess it will be voting for the best overall set and not the best dress? I’m a little slow here. 🙂

        1. HI Joy,
I just finished with tomorrow’s post… I numbered and named each set before the pictures… I know it’s hard. I’ve looked at them so many times and I can’t decide either…
I think just vote your favorite… the one that speaks to your heart… or (maybe your sweet tooth)? :o)
Have fun debating… do I go for the dress or the chocolate?
I haven’t had anyone buy an outfit because of a candy bar, but I did have a lady recently buy an outfit and THEN bought the doll it fit afterwards!
Gotta love ladies like that! :o)
          Thanks Joy,
          Blessings, Jeanne

    2. Hi Joy, I saw Penelope. Her outfit is really great, a modern take on a Victorian riding outfit to me. Congratulations on getting her.

      1. Joy in northern CA

Thanks. Might have to find her a horse. Ha ha. Coming from someone that has only ridden once in her life. 🙂

Oh dear! I’ll be losing so much sleep over this. Decisions, decisions… Seeing all the delightful outfits together in one post tomorrow could overwhelm my senses.

David did well with his oral surgery Friday. He was running on adrenaline for the rest of that day and part of the next so he assumed all was over. He came in from his shop Saturday afternoon about 5 pm and crashed. He was having some pain and was really exhausted so he took to his recliner with his Nook and remained there the rest of the day. He opted for missing church yesterday and, since it was the day of our annual meeting, he wasn’t sure he could make it through choir rehearsal, church and the meeting so he probably did the wise thing. When I got home he was in much better shape than when I left. His problem is that his teeth are actually shattering and he was having them replaced with implants one at a time. Finally the dentist suggested just doing all the top ones using the posts he already has implanted. Definitely cheaper in the long run. One of the men at church said his wife had Scarlet Fever twice and it destroyed the calcium in her teeth and they are doing the same thing as David’s. David has always been prone to high fevers since he was a child and that may be the cause of this problem. Fortunately my teeth are like rocks so we at least don’t have this dental expense for two.

Beautiful weather here. Cool to cold nights and early mornings and gradually warming to in the 60s during the day. Winter here but springtime where I grew up so I have to keep reminding myself of the time of year it actually is.

    1. HI Barbara,
I might lose sleep over them too… I’ve looked at them so many times and I still can’t decide my favorites… just think of it as a Miss America pageant… someone has to win and a lot of them have to lose… one will come out on top and the rest will still have “some” votes to make them smile.

I’m glad your hubby survived the dentist. Because of my hubby’s titanium knees, he has to take antibiotics before the dentist appointments too. Thanks for being the good nurse to him… sewing will be your reward some day soon when you can get back to it.

I enjoyed reading about your new schedule… in fact I read it twice.
      Thanks Barbara,
      Blessings , Jeanne

  5. I love May as well. Warm, but not hot, beautiful flowers, and my birthday month!
    So many sweet outfits.
I have my number one chosen and now have to decide on two and three.

    1. HI Laura,
I’m ready to place my bet that I know which one you picked in the first half of the dresses shown! I bet I know who you’ll pick in the today’s grouping too! :o)

I am READY for Spring… or May, whichever comes first with the nicest weather!
      Thanks Laura,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  6. Marilyn in Colorado

What’s fun about this is watching the seasons change.
    Favorites — Felicity’s pellerine, Frieda’s sunflowers, Kirsten’s outfit.

    1. HI Marilyn,
I see you have already picked your favorites… inquiring minds want to know how you did it so easily… was it for you?
      Thanks Marilyn,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  7. Dorothy in PA and the World

Dear Jeanne, yes, I am doing a “May Watch.” There are 93 days until we can officially dance around the Maypole! I can’t wait.

    1. HI Sylvia,
I see YOU have already chosen your favorites too! I have them combined in tomorrow’s post… but if you don’t post it then, I’ll copy these favorites to the page I’m tallying them up on.
      Thanks Sylvia,
      Blessings, Jeanne
