ONE more day of Christmas decorations! GET READY FOR EYE CANDY!!!

I think you all will agree one more day of Christmas decorations is fine… and when you see these pictures you’ll REALLY think so!

Anne, from Ohio, so graciously sent LOTS of pictures to show me her house…and how could I NOT share them with you all! Anne said she and her son started in mid November! I can see why she had to start so early. There is so much to look at… my hubby said, it looks like a store where all this Christmas stuff is for sale, only it’s not! It’s Anne’s home! I hope you will enjoy this sweet home tour! Get some ideas for NEXT CHRISTMAS! :o)

If you click on her pictures, they will enlarge. Oh goody! :o)

She said this next picture was of her “mud room”… uh, what? Where’s the dirt? I’ve never seen such a pretty mud room! :o)

I’ve looked at Anne’s pictures, (several times), scrutinized them, and have come to the conclusion she must have a full basement where she puts her “non-Christmas” stuff during the “off season!” :o)

Didn’t you enjoy looking at all her “pretties?” If you think I didn’t gush enough over Anne’s pictures, I already did, when she was sending them to me! :o)

Thank you, Anne, for giving us a tour of your sweet Christmasy house!

I will see everyone Monday!
Blessings, Jeanne

OH, Anne, your house looks so festive! You have decorated everything, and so beautifully, too. I love that you even found some small Christmas-themed rugs to add a spot of color on the floor, and also love all the plaid accessories. Thanks so much for sharing!

Oh my goodness, Jeanne, yes, EYE CANDY!! Is this Anne from New Zealand’s house? You didn’t say where this is located, but it could even be at the North Pole!! What a darling house, and so expertly decorated!!

Anne, I love, first of all, when looking at the rooms, that the light walls and furniture certainly do show off all the red and plaid colors, plus all the other decorations! You certainly know how to “do” it!

Your mantel is just plain gorgeous, and I love how you lit up the greenery. Is this your family room area, since I see a table and chairs set nearby. How cheerful this must be to see this every morning while having breakfast or just sitting there!

I love the way you decorated your grandfather clock, and that beautiful amaryllis next to it! Is that a picture of your home in the one right before the mud room picture? Lovely!

I also love the way you stayed with your “country and plaid” theme for decorating. That makes all the difference in the world making a room or house look exceptional, and yours does just that! It also comes with those little touches of the darling stockings hanging on the wall, the plaid pillows, the cheerful rugs, and little touches like that!

So where does all of this go when you take it down? I’m sure you have it organized somehow, and inquiring minds would love to know! Thank you SO much for sending these beautiful pictures in to Jeanne, and to Jeanne for showing them!

Anne, in the early hours this morning, it did not have Anne of Ohio! I mentioned that and I guess Jeanne “sneaked” the Ohio part in!

Now there’s a decorator’s home. Everything is so beautiful and coordinated. I see a piece of furniture like my Nana had: The pedestal table that’s a card table when opened out. The red and green plaid carried through is so effective. Is the coffee table made of a kind of wheelbarrow? I love old functional pieces made of wood and everything about these wonderful pictures. Thanks for sharing your beautiful home with us. 🎄

Beautiful decorations, Anne! It is fun seeing the different Santas behind the windows. Lovely white nativity scene! Nice Grandfather clock… It would be fun to just walk around there and soak it all in. 🙂 Thanks so much for sharing!

What a lovely home. The decorating is amazing. In the pic before the mud room, there is a home plaque on the wall above Santa. Is that a picture of the outside of the house? It is wonderful. So many grand ideas for decorating are shown, and the furniture is beautiful. I’m guessing there must be a basement. Something we don’t see here in CA very often. I’m guessing that may be the storage place? I can’t even pick a favorite photo as each has something I’d love to incorporate into my decorating.
Thanks Jeanne and Anne for sharing. Really enjoyed the photos.

We don’t have basements here in Texas either. But we had them in PA and our small three bedroom house doubled in size with the basement. My dad had his workshop on one side that he enclosed so he could lock the door since he had a lot of power tools. My mother had a section for her washer and dryer and a full set of stationary tubs (great for icing watermelon in the summer) and the rest was like a large family room. We played in the basement not in our bedrooms and that was something I really missed when our kids had to keep their toys and play in their rooms.

We have basements in Missouri, and that’s how we do our house, with the family room, workshop, office and laundry rooms in the basement! Storage for Christmas and other items are down there too. I don’t know what we would do without it!

  6. So we have another Ohio Sofa Sister! Oh, Anne, your home is just lovely. The decor reminds me a lot of a shop that was here in my town for around a decade and I loved going into it often, especially at Christmas. Your Nativity is amazing with so many, many pieces. I love you little green wall cabinet with the tiny bears inside. The little hearts on the window shades are a darling touch. Thank you so very much for sharing your beautiful home.

Anne’s house is totally charming. It looks like something out of a home decorating magazine. I would love to see it the rest of the year. Absolutely beautiful. I’m going to need to go back and take a look again. So many wonderful things to see.

I too thought she must have good storage to be able to switch things out and keep the theme going in every room. I’ve always wanted to do seasonal decorating but lack of storage is a real problem for me. And I can see why she starts in mid-November. I keep hoping to start the day after Thanksgiving but that day comes and goes and the tree and village are still in their boxes. We’re on the road into town so I usually try (tried) to get our tree and outside decorations up by the first Saturday in December because that is the day of our Fantasy of Lights celebration and parade and many people come to town. Problem is I can’t get the help I need to get this done. For everyone else it seems to be whenever. As long as things are up for Christmas everyone else is good to go.

I got an email yesterday saying my L’il Dreamer Jovi, who was supposed to arrive today, will not be arriving till next Tuesday so I’m a little down today. Her dolly sisters are disappointed too, but they are helping to cheer me up. I promised to do some sewing for them so I’m sure they’re making an extra effort.

Thanks Anne from Ohio for sharing these wonderful pictures and Jeanne for posting them for all the sofa sisters to enjoy.

I too am waiting for a doll delivery. The days are dragging and the postman just sails on by most days. Hopefully we will both have a new doll next week.

    2. Joy in northern CA

I too got the email about Jovi. Mine won’t be here until next Thursday. Can’t wait to see her. 🙂

      1. Barbara in SE Texas

It’s a good thing you bought Jovi some jeans and a t-shirt since she won’t have much holiday left to wear her pretty dress and shoes once she arrives.

    3. Theresa in Indiana

Got my Jovi today, Barbara, and I think she is much cuter in person. I don’t buy too many dolls anymore, but she was too cute to resist. 🙂

  8. Thank you for posting all the pictures Jeanne!
Anne you have a talent for displaying all the beautiful accessories ! It must take many days but you started early so you can enjoy them. Some of my favorites are the way you add greenery to shelves and pictures and the Grandfather clock. The Nativity set is so complete and has pieces I’ve never seen. Your pillow collection is amazing too. Thank you for sharing your Christmas tour…it was such a nice way to start the day!

Dear Jeanne, thanks for showing us the photos of Anne’s (Ohio) beautiful house. It is a showplace for sure! I would expect to see the likes on one of the HGTV decorating shows where the experts showcase their talents.

Seeing the photos made me think of looking at someone’s beautiful outside Christmas decorations only being inside. The rooms are stunning.

Can we really be saying good-bye to 2023 in just three days?

Happy weekend to the Sofa Sisters.

  11. Debbie in North Carolina

Anne in Ohio and Suzette in California, both of your homes are filled with beautiful decorations and holiday cheer. I return to them over and over.

Laura and Linda thanks for sending your doll photos to Jeanne so we can be inspired. They are always a treat to see.

Happy New Year to all! 🎉
