Ruby Red Fashion Friends, Freida, is taking over Jame’s spot as top model…

I texted Sarah, my webmaster, and asked her if she could look at my blog and see if something has changed that I wasn’t aware of. I have absolutely no idea how to even check on something involving the comments you all make.

I did try commenting on my phone and it is just a different way of doing it. You first type in your email and then a W comes up, that’s for WordPress, the F is for Facebook and the envelope is for the email. I typed my email address, typed my comment, and for a second paragraph, which Dorothy said she was having trouble with, I just hit the enter button twice to move it down to a new paragraph. I’ll let you know if Sarah shares anything with me.

Well, James has gone into retirement temporarily until he gets some briefs to wear! :o) Sorry about that. I see nudies all day in my dolly cabinet and missed that back side shot… oops!

Freida has decided she has the best “lip” color so she thinks she should be the next model.

When I woke up this morning, I was still debating about what to do for the dress for this denim jacket…I didn’t feel any of the fabrics were right for the look I was aiming for. I wanted this to be a more classy outfit, and not so cutsie! I had decided in my mind that orange would be a nice color to go with the blue denim, and then I checked the comments! I saw where Joy said “maybe if you had an orange or a brown or a stripe…” and that’s all it took. Orange was her FIRST suggestion, so I set out to find something orange in my stash… I had 2 pieces of orange fabric and one was too stiff of a cotton and the other was too much of a calico.

I “had” to take something back to the Goodwill that didn’t fit, so I decided a trip there was most likely to be my best bet. I was hoping for a soft small print if possible. I could cut up a blouse or a dress or even a skirt. The size didn’t matter… I just needed enough fabric to cut out a doll dress. I looked through all the blouses… zilch… the skirts… zilch, the kids clothes… zilch, the dresses… BINGO… I found a solid colored orange; sort of the feel of a cotton homespun fabric, almost a burnt orange, that had a pattern in the weave. It was very soft and had a decorative trim at the waist that I plan to use somewhere. I cut out a bodice and got that part finished… It is lined with the silky lining used for the dress.

I took out the stitching in the jacket, moved the left side down to make it “exaclty” even with the right side, and topstitched it all back together! I’m SO glad I did. Now it looks like something I can be proud to say I made.

I also added the pocket flaps too.

I had some tiny little plastic orange buttons that were a very good match to the dress fabric, but decided it would limit the possibilities for the jacket to be worn with other things, so I found more of the tiny 3mm metal buttons in the bronze and ordered them. They are supposed to be here by the 10th… but I asked if they could send them out ASAP, as I was in the middle of making a doll dress and needed 2-4 more. I hope they send them tomorrow! So the plan is for them to look something like this…

Well, that’s what I did today! How about you?

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

Oh, yes, Jeanne, that orange fabric si really nice! I have something in my closet (blue, I think) with a similar weave, and it’s subtle but so nice because it’s not just “plain”!! And that trim–so glad you saved that. Maybe it could be the bottom of the skirt? I agree that orange buttons on the jacket would be limiting; glad you found some more bronze ones to order!

Now I checked, and I Can push “enter” twice and go down to a new paragraph. I wonder if it’s a glitch in the system, depending on the device you use (thinking of Dorothy’s problem)?

I hope your computer guru will be able to figure out what happened with the change in the reply box!

Our grandson Isaac (who just turned 22) stopped by today and we went to see Ron, who was surprised to see Isaac. We took Ron out for dinner to Denny’s and had a nice time. Ron still wants to come home, of course!! And he insisted on bringing the wheelie walker in with him tonight–he’d been using the aluminum walker (wheels in front, glides in back) because of his fall risk, but PT is helping with that. I did make him promise he wouldn’t try the wheelie walker until he had someone with him, just in case!!

Dear Charlotte, I am so glad you got to go out for a date with two handsome gentlemen. I like Denny’s. I used to go there when my daughter was young.

Jeanne, this orange fabric is so much better than the prints you had yesterday, although from what I see on my computer, it looks more of a bright salmon color, but very nice! I love the texture of the material and gives it more interest than just plain broadcloth. I love that trim too, and it will make that outfit one of a kind, for sure!

Freida is surely the one to model this creation with her beautiful coloring! I love her with the bangs so much better! And yay, James will get some undies!

Clicking twice does make a new paragraph, but then it always did, at least for me.

What a cute jacket. I really like the buttons, and the ones you ordered may be even nicer. The soft red or orange is the perfect color for Freida. Do you have enough denim for shorts? If the dress were 2 piece. the top would go with the shorts or skirt.

What kind of shoes are you planning?

You are right that something is malfunctioning. I’m not being able to space or make paragraphs, but at least I could congratulate Freida on her new outfit.

Oh, I do like the orange with the denim for fall. I can hear Frieda, saying that she likes it too! Fun fabric choice. Maybe a tiny bracelet to go with the shorter sleeves? Might be fun. This jacket is so adorable. Love the pocket flaps as well. Even though I had changed my mind on the elephants. The elephants might work on something for TP. I think I can hear her in the background saying, “Yes!” 🙂
Going to get some hot weather the next couple of days. Will add to the leaf litter we seem to have everywhere. The fire department guy was great. Took photos all around the house, and they will send a report in a couple of days. We are part of the lucky group that will get a tree company to take off branches over the house and cut off low branches to prevent a fire ladder. It is free. He did like our trimming job around the fire hydrant though. 🙂
And I couldn’t help myself with the latest Effner Li’l Dreamer, 11″ Jovi. She is so cute and available at Happily as well as the Effner place. She might make it by Christmas. 🙂

Dear Joy, yeaaa! It sounds like there will be a Christmas caper. Certainly Other Person cannot object, if he spots the box first, because, well, Santa does deliver gifts at Christmas time (laugh).

  5. I sent you screenshots of what we see yesterday, Jeanne. I wonder if they didn’t come through?
Well, it’s obvious Freida (and Violette) are your favorite RRFFs since Freida is still showing in the sidebar from her last modeling adventure. The orange and light denim look great together. Loving blue as I do, I usually add it to my fall decor colors. The openwork design on the fabric is nice and the jacket will be very versatile.

Dear Jeanne, I like the new fabric and color. I think it looks nice with the jacket.

I just clicked return 7 times and I could not space. Now, I don’t know what will happen when I click send so I apologize if the computer spaced this sentence down 7 times. You are making me think that I might want to take a trip to Goodwill to see what I can find.
