October is the perfect month for Pumpkins… especially when accompanied by a doll!

I’ve seen pumpkins everywhere… at the Goodwill, at the grocery store, at farm stores, Hobby Lobby, the pumpkin patches, at the orchards, even in the hospital! I thought maybe I’d do a post showing some of my archived doll dresses where pumpkins were used as props! This might be a fun slide show!

My friend out in California, let me borrow her tan Nyssa so I could draft some patterns for her while I was waiting to find my own Nyssa. This was one of my very first dresses drafted for the dolls.

Here is Janie at a hayride! She was providing the music!

Here is Noel in a dress, I think I called “Fall Fever” too…

This is tiny little Navi in an orange and black set… no pumpkin, but I decided to use it because I didn’t have as many pumpkin pictures as I thought I did! I don’t think you’ll mind!

Well, that’s it, I guess…

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

These are all cute outfits, but Janie’s is really “country” style, and so cute! However, I think my favorite is Navi’s bright orange separates. Everything is darling.

Poor Ron has a sore throat (started Tues.) and hardly any voice. Today I brought lemonade, so he can have hot lemonade (nuke a cup of it for a minute and stir) and some throat drops. Tonight he thought his throat felt some better, but his voice is very “croaky”!! We had planned to get his hair cut and then go to IHOP for supper after my eye appt. (which is right after lunch), but I’m wondering if he’s going to feel up to going.

My exciting sewing today was to shorten a pair of slacks for myself. I have two pairs of slacks for Ron that need to be shortened, too, but I will wash them first (I wash everything before I make alterations).

Just a quick add: now our comments section is looking a little more like usual–only the envelope is in color (the other two circles are gray and non functioning) and “Email (Address never made public”, “Name”, and “Website (Optional)” are visible before you click on the envelope.

Hi, Charlotte. I hope Ron is feeling better. I can ignore a lot of things but a sore throat is not one of them. It’s hard to eat and drink and sometimes mine turn into strep throat which is like having razor blades in your throat.

I wanted to respond to your comment the other day on “call before you dig”. We have that here in Texas too but the gas line was in our mobile home park and we were not the ones who put the park in and there are no drawings anywhere that show us where the water and gas lines are. We’ve learned by default a couple times. If we break a water line David and the boys can fix that but with a gas line we have to call the city. Since we want to develop the property David has been in touch with the city and the county for documentation of things but there is none anywhere it seems. We have owned the property for 33 years and the people before us lived here 18 years. They have both passed on so we can’t get information that way. They put in the park for added income when they were on social security. There was a housing shortage in Sealy about that time and the city liked the idea. But Sealy was a very small, rural community back then and there weren’t a lot of rules and regulations. There are now but our park is grandfathered but if we sell the property, we cannot sell the park and that is why we decided to develop the property for housing. The biggest problem is that the lines are soft (can’t remember what they are made of) and you don’t hear anything if you hit them and it’s easy to puncture them. Hopefully before long we will not have to worry about this any longer.

Wow, what a challenge that must be, Barbara, to have no record of those things!! Thanks for replying.

Dear Charlotte, I hope your husband is on the mend soon. I love your hot “toddy” lemonade drink.

It looks like I’m second, but I’m betting Linda is writing right now and her letter will be finished first.

I don’t think I mentioned how much I like the top-stitching on Freida’s new jacket. And I know I didn’t say how brilliant that bracelet is. It ties the hat to the outfit perfectly. I know you are good with details, but this one is so small — I was very surprised that it made such a difference.

The pumpkin outfits are darling. There’s probably not enough time to make another for Halloween, but Thanksgiving would work.

Yes, Jeanne, pumpkins everywhere! I have several of the pumpkins that you have displayed from here and there, and they are in my doll scenes for fall.

Oh yes, Janie’s outfit is so cute, and i immediately saw those darling boots she has on that go perfectly with her dress! Did you make those?

Navi sure is a little show-stopper in that bright orange and black outfit! Fits right in with the season!

Hopefully, Charlotte, Ron will improve with the warm lemonade, which I have never heard of before! I love lemonade, but not the warm kind! (LOL) But then again, I don’t have a sore throat either!

    1. Sweet choices for pictures today. Fall makes such great pictures. Each one has its own personality. Little Darlings still is my favorite.
Getting ready for a weekend of rain and storms…Which is fine we need the rain.
Going for the third treatment for dizziness. It is an odd bunch of maneuvers but it is helping.
Who will be the next Dolly model?

  4. It’s always fun to see your previous outfits, Jeanne. I love fall to begin with so it ‘s the perfect ones to show. I like the added pumpkins too.
I agree with those who’ve written above me, Navi’s outfit is bright and colorful. I love the black net skirt added and the sequins too. Noel’s outfit is really sweet and softened with her jacket. I think my favorite.
Each of the four outfits are unique as your models wearing them.

I got caught up on all of Jeanne’s posts – I really enjoyed Joy’s adventure the other day and glad she got TWO boxes inside undetected!

Love Navi’s outfit. For whatever reason, I can’t remember seeing that one in the past. What year was it? Something similar would be adorable in a larger size for a Ruby Red, I think. 🙂 Or even for a RR Thanksgiving outfit with pics by the chickens unless you now have a turkey. 🙂
Hope Charlotte’s, Ron, is feeling better today. If not, maybe a call has been put into the doctor. Can’t take a chance that it might be something serious like strep.
I was finally able to open the boxes of my party girls, RR Candy and Pinky. They are sweet and are now demanding that I let the partying begin. 🙂
And this morning, I have tracking for the next delivery here. Only one box this time fortunately, but if the delivery follows the last one on timing, it won’t make it here until Monday, since it clearly states weekday delivery only. I believe that she is on a flight now, but I’ll keep watching the tracking. 🙂

Dear Joy, yeaaa! This means there will be a caper report on Monday. I can’t wait!

Fall is definitely my favorite time of year, even in southeast Texas. Even though our weather sometimes does not feel fallish we all celebrate the season as if it did. I love all the outfits but Navi just seems to jump out at you with her adorable black and orange outfit. And where did you get that sweet little wig? So cute and so perfect for the outfit. I noticed Janie’s boots too but I don’t think you were cobblering back then so you must have had the boots and matched the fabric to them. I love the outfit and the setting. Nyssa looks so perfect in her pretty fall dress and Noel’s outfit is quite stunning. I love when you share pictures from your archives.

I visited the Etsy shop Ginnydollcreations the other day and bought five Halloween dresses for my vintage and modern Ginny’s, Shirley Temple and my two Paola Reina minis. I loved the fabric choices. I decided on just getting the dresses rather than trying to locate costumes for them all. I really need to do something about the fact that my girls have little in the way of Halloween attire. I used to make costumes for my children when they were small but have really never tried a doll costume before. My daughter would sometimes wear a costume from her dance recital for Halloween so maybe I’ll get on with the recital costumes I plan and they can all wear those for Halloween. Kill two birds with one stone so to speak.

  7. I hope Ron feels better soon, Charlotte. I would agree about getting it checked out since it could be strep. I had strep quite often as a child and even into adulthood (along with ear infections). And my strep never displayed the classic red throat.
I like Noel’s outfit and remember thinking in would even be better for January.
Navi’s I don’t recall at all. Even if I don’t have the time to comment I still read the post. Was that a special order?

Dear Jeanne, I love the “pumpkin parade” of outfits. Your models look adorable.

I love Janie’s outfit, especially her boots!
