Here’s what the Ruby Red Fashion Friends hat looks like in wool felt…

I’m not suggesting that Stella will be up next, but someone mentioned making the hat in a wool felt and I thought I’d give it a go and see how it looked. I also wanted to try it with the split in the back and the bow on the side front.

The bow is just pinned on for now…

I just realized from my pictures that the brim is 1/4″ wider than the floral one for Freida. I forgot when I cut it out of the felt to take off the seam allowance.

I picked out a few fabrics that went with it…

I knew this navy fabric would look great with the green wool felt even before I held them up to each other…

It was my hubby’s choice too…

Here is the back of the hat…

Well, that’s all for today…
I am going to be busy over the weekend and next week. Our annual church hayride is coming up next weekend and I’m in charge of getting the supplies for the S’Mores, the cooked applesauce and my stand, the caramel apples!

See you Monday,
Blessings, Jeanne

Well, that turned out pretty cute in the wool felt, too!!

My favorite of the three fabrics is the middle one; HOWEVER, I think the one that looks Best with the hat is the first one.

Thanks, everyone, for your concern about Ron. As it happens, he has a doctor’s appt. on Monday, so the doctor can check him then, if his throat is still bad. It is less sore, and his voice has improved (gone from “rough and gravelly” to just “husky”). We decided getting a haircut and going out for dinner tonight wasn’t the best thing to do just yet, though, so I just visited for a while, and then went to meet our friends at IHOP by myself.

Jeanne, my pick for the fabric to go with the hat is the last, darker one! It looks more like fall and winter to me, although the other two are nice, they just don’t give me the same fall/winter vibes that the darker colors do.

The hat certainly did turn out well in felt, and I do like the bow on the side. What’s not to like about that? I think Stella would be the perfect model for this next creation! I’m on Team Stella!

In my humble opinion, the navy would be a nice choice for this season and perfect for the upcoming holidays. I also love the last print as well, for a more springy look or even Valentine’s Day. I don’t care for the middle fabric with the checks in the background at all. Too busy. The hat is adorable, and I’d still like to see the pattern with a coat or jacket in the future. 🙂
My package from Ruby Red coming from HK, Japan, and Oakland, is now scheduled for delivery today. Oh dear, we’ll be raking leaves with the delivery truck right in view. Have no idea how a package delivery can escape the detecting radar of other person.

Dear Joy, I am sure you do not have enough leaf-sized trash bags to accommodate your piles. And didn’t you mention that you had forgotten an ingredient for the special meal you are making tonight? Hmmm. Someone should go to the store and purchase these things. (laugh)

Do let us know what happens with the caper. I am sure you can pull it off.

Dear Jeanne, I love the hat!!! I have a big floppy rain hat kind of like that (no bow though) and my friends call me Paddington Bear when I wear it (laugh). I don’t care though because it keeps my hair dry. Your hat is very chic and if you ever make one for grown ups, I will be first in line (smile).

My favorite fabric is the second one.

Happy weekend to you and the Sofa Sisters.

  5. I had to go back to see the darker one as navy…at first glance it seemed black…but I love it more as navy. The darker print is so pretty with the shade of green felt. The other two are really pretty too but not as attractive with the hat.
    Have a good weekend!

  6. The hat is sweet in felt and I really like the larger brim. My favorite is the navy print. it looks ideal for fall. I also looks great with Stella’s coloring. The multicolor vines and flowers would be great for spring.

  7. Third time a charm?
    I left a comment earlier…maybe I didn’t complete it correctly?
Love the navy print and the other two are adorable but not with the fallish green.
And of course the red hair sets it off too.
Glad Ron is some better and can’t wait for another Dolly caper.
    Have a fun weekend ladies.🍁🍂
