All the way from California, this is what the costumes look like!

FIRST A REMINDER… Tonight, the set for the Ruby Red Fashion Friends dolls, “Welcome Fall” is ending on Ebay. You can see it by clicking the picture at the right side bar, or you can click HERE to be taken to Ebay… I hope you’ll take a peek!

Susette sent some pictures of her girls all dressed for Halloween… You will enjoy seeing these fun costumes each of her American Girls are wearing. Here’s what she said about them…

Here’s my house for Halloween 🎃! I’m taking the lessons from those who commented about the reactions to the crazy aunts and neighbors inviting children and even adults in to see their dolls on Halloween! No way! I’ll just keep them to myself. I made these three costumes, although that’s a sari and not really a “costume.”

They wanted to line up on the stairwell with the others. There is no Other Person to object to this in this household, although a visitor commented that he liked it.

Here are the Ruby Red Fashion Friends in the corner by the fireplace. It somehow reminds me of George’s collection of Nutcrackers at Christmas on the mantel.

Here’s Stella Rock Star being the Head Witch.

I also got a picture from Susette, of a “real life Molly table” listed on something like Facebook Marketplace. This is a retro table/chairs set for HUMANS…and it’s JUST like Molly’s! I wonder if some American Girl, Molly loving, momma got it!

Thanks Susette! Your costumes are all so fitting for each doll! Thanks for sharing…

Here’s a little hint about what you’ll be seeing tomorrow! :o)

See everyone tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

Oh, what fun pictures, Susette! I enjoyed seeing all the costumes, and your lovely displays. The sari is just beautiful, and while it’s not a “costume” as such, I think we could call it a “national costume”. I also like your stairs lined with dolls; as I may have mentioned before, I once knew a lady who did that, too–had dolls lining here stairs. Her husband didn’t seem to mind, and the dog never bothered them.

Now your Ruby Reds…quite a variety of costumes there! I love the little doctor, and also the fairy. That pink/purple one in the front…pirate? Or…??? Love the colors, whatever it is!

That certainly does look like Molly’s original table and chairs set! I remember sets like that from my own childhood, although we didn’t have one. I’m sure at least a couple of our relatives did, though.

Looks like there an American Girl getting a new dress or something tomorrow, Jeanne!!

Molly won the toss-up as to who gets to go to lunch tomorrow; I will be sure to take my camera, as several of you suggested!

Susette, I absolutely love the way you have dressed and displayed your dolls so professionally, and the photos are so crisp and clear! I love the beautiful sari you made, and how fun to see all those RRFF dolls on the steps! Stella makes her grand entrance with such a beautiful witch costume! And even a little coffin in the picture by bat girl and the pirate! What fun to see how it’s done in sunny California!

Yes, that kitchen table and chairs do look like Molly’s, and as you know, I do have that and love it!

Jeanne, it looks like some lucky American Girl doll is next, and all I can say is it isn’t Addy!

Oh, so fun to see all of the fab costumes from Susette. Can’t believe that she made those cute ones for the AGs. Wow! The stairway to the stars is such a perfect display space. Love it. I spotted my favorite AG costume, the cowgirl. 🙂 And I love little red in front. Looks like she has tamed the wolf. 🙂 Did you make the little red RRFF costume? I think we need something similar around here. Love the corner display too. Such cute accessories. And Stella looks like she has conquered the candy market this year. Great witch costume. Thanks Susette for sharing. So fun.
The big people 50’s table is a great match for Linda’s. I almost bought one recently, in the AG size, but managed to hold off on the buy button. Really no place to display around here.
Jeanne’s latest has the fall look and I agree with others that it looks like an outfit for an AG. When I first saw it, it reminded me of 50’s curtains, in a good way, but definitely would work for a dress from early America, as well. Love the lace too.
Hope everyone has a fun Halloween. Thanks for sharing the photos Jeanne and Susette.

Today is the 4th anniversary of the day I was sent to the hospice. I couldn’t turn on my side or adjust my own pillow, let alone stand up. I was stuck there until about July 4, but, free of pills, I eventually made it home.

When I was teaching, my students wrote research papers, then gave talks about what they’d learned. One did a nice paper on death with dignity. Afterwards I said, “Marvel, do you want equal time?” Marvel was my interpreter for the 2 deaf students in class. At 18, she had been told she’d have to have a horribly disfiguring surgery or die of cancer. She was little, but fierce. She said, “You are offering me an A or a B. I won’t have them. You find me a C, and I’ll take that.” At the time of my class, she had doubled her 18 years, married, and had a brilliant daughter who was nearly ready for college.

While I was in the hospice, a friend was told he had terminal cancer. They found him a C too. 4 years later his doctor is saying “1-5 years.” My friend is 86, so 1-5 years sounds quite reasonable.

We all eventually die, but keep in mind that we don;t necessarily do it on someone else’s schedule. So there’s your Easter message on Halloween.

I love Susette’s dolls and their costumes. Thanks for sharing.

And it looks to me like Felicity is getting a lovely fall dress.

    1. Hi Marilyn,
Thank you so much for your touching comment. I’m so glad that you have recovered so much and are back on the sofa sharing with us. God’s blessings to you! Laura

What a wonderful collection of dolls ready for Halloween! Some wonderful costumes to be seen there. I’m going to have to check them out more thoroughly a little later. Got something on my plate to finish up at the moment.

I agree with Sylvia. I’m not terribly proficient on the American Girl dolls but Felicity is the one that came to my mind also. I got a new American Girl catalog today. Some wonderful things in there. The clothes are very nice. As for the props, well I will just have to wait until some of them show up on eBay. I can’t afford $225.00 for a new car for my dolls. They’ll just have to wait until we can find a used car instead.

My grandmother had a kitchen set like that. Hers was yellow. We grandkids loved it.

  6. Wow! Wow! What a spectacular group of girls all in their costumes. Each of the costumes on both the AMG and RRFF girls are really neat! What fabulous pictures.
I like the parade coming down the stairs. And I like how Susette’s RRFF’s are all arranged together! Stella is the best in her witch’s costume.
Tough decision on who wins “ best costume” though!
This was so much fun to see these pictures, Susette! Thank you!

  7. Thank you Suzette and Jeanne for posting those impressive pictures. Not sure where to start but the line up on the stairs lead by the RRFF Witch is so sweet Your costumes look so good on each doll.
Must get busy making chili for our annual Halloween at my daughters to see all the cute kids. They will need extra warm costumes…it is only 35 today….and last week was mid 70s😲🧙‍♀️

  8. Hi Susette, what a lovely group of girls you have there. You did great job on the costumes. I see you also have a Little Red Riding Hood as well complete with a “wolf” (Kaya’s Tatio). Hanna gets to be Little Red Riding Hood as well which is so cute. Maryellen as a cowgirl and Kavi are lovely. Your RRFF Fairy and doctor are super cute. Everyone looks wonderful and ready for a fun party. Thank you for sharing them.
My grandparents had a very similar red table and chairs set in their kitchen when I was a very young child. I was what my mom grew up with. Then it was moved to the finished basement and a different set took its place.
Yay, looks like Felicity in getting a beautiful new gown.

    1. Susette from Southern California

Thanks, everyone, for your nice comments about the dolls. For Charlotte, Barbara and Laura, my family had the red Molly table and chairs when I was a child. I remember having milk toast at that table when I was sick. Did anyone else’s mother fix that when they were sick?

It’s going to be 77 degrees at 6 pm tonight here, so I hope no one gets too warm in their costumes. I remember freezing weather sometimes in a Missouri suburb of St. Louis when I was a child, Linda.

Joy, I think maybe you do need Molly’s table. I use a red cloth with white, sparkly fabric over it at Christmas and Valentines Day. I have the orange with black spiderwebs 🕸️ and 🕷️ 🕷️ 🕷️ for that table, too. Maybe next year. I didn’t make the Little Red Riding Hood costumes but they are identical and from the same website. Stella does have magenta boots, too, to match her costume. See her swashbuckling 🗡️?

I won’t be inviting children in and scaring them tonight after the comments about scaring small children with little old ladies’ doll collections! Woooooo! Thanks for sharing my dolls, Jeanne 🎃💀🐈‍⬛🕷️👻
