My Little Darling, Emmie, wants to show you her completed dress set…

Yes, I’m back in my sewing room and the only one sad is Emmie…she knows her days of wearing this sweet dress are numbered and she’ll have to give it up in just a little while. I told her there would be others and that “kind of” pacified her for now…

Here are some pictures to show you I STILL KNOW HOW TO SEW! :o)

I made her some new white thigh highs…

They look nice with her blue ruffled tulle slip.

…and a new hair bow with a snap clip on the back…

Emmie got in the Dolly Toy Box and found this white bear for her accessory… she’s calling her Sugar!

I think she looks very pretty in this blue floral print… see if you think so too! :o)

I’ll see if I can’t manage to get this listed on Ebay…

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

Emmie looks just darling in her blue outfit. And of course I love her petticoat! Her little bear, Sugar, is the perfect accessory. Some Little Darling is going to be very happy!!

Well, that was quick, Jeanne! Yes, you still can sew and you certainly showed it today! Emmie looks perfectly dinvine in her new outfit, that won’t be hers for long, I’m sure!

I love everything about it, from the sweet hairbow to the lacy tights! That slip is perfect, and I’m sure she will be twirling to show it off! What a pretty pattern and colors! Sugar is as sweet as,…well,… sugar!

Dear Jeanne, the dress is adorable! Emmie is the perfect model with her “new” hair.

Do post the photo on the ning site. The Little Darlings have been invited to a Royal Tea and this would be the perfect dress for one of them to wear!

Well, unfortunately, this is the second day without receiving the blog in my email. Not sure what’s happened, but it is no longer coming to me. 🙁 Is anyone else having the problem?
Every time that lovely blue slip turns up on my screen, I hear squealing from the peanut gallery behind me. AKA dollies near the computer. 🙂 Maybe one in the RRFF size will turn up in Jeanne’s Etsy store?
Wondering if George, has planted his tomatoes? They were so huge last year. 🙂 Here, need to get going on planting some seeds although other person did plant his tomatoes yesterday. I was happily pulling more blackberry/weeds so haven’t gotten to it yet. Ha Ha.
Hope the weather is cooperating with everyone.

Just wanted to let Jeanne, know that for the heck of it, I checked my Spam file, and there were the two missing Jeanne blogs. I’ve never had that happen before. So random. I wonder why they were in spam since I usually get them every day. Anyway, hoping it shows up in my email tomorrow and not spam. 🙂

  5. Good idea to post that cute dress on the Ning site. I need to look at that site again too. I do love the RRFF but the Little Darlings are my fav.
Emmie couldn’t look cuter and she will be sad to see it go but she has had it a bit longer than most considering the extra days for the sister trip😉. Her Teddy bear and bow just set it off.
Getting ready for my ladies group to meet tomorrow… we do a plant exchange every May. We have been meeting for almost 50 years…maybe more. Now we are losing some members to assisted living and such ..makes me sad but life goes on for the rest of us.
My DIL gave me the cleverest vase kind of thing for Mothers Day. It is flat and long and has 24 holes for flowers. I’ll have to take a pic. So nice because it doesn’t interfere with site at the table. Better get busy…it is a good thing to have this gathering …it makes me do the things that slip by when you are not having company…and my sweet daughter came and helped yesterday😍❤️

Emmie looks so sweet. I love the blue as shades of blue are my favorite. Sugar is obviously sweet as well. The blue slip is lovely. I love fancy underpinnings.

I really love this adorable ensemble and it keeps getting better by the day. Emmie is such a beautiful doll. Such a cute little bear and what a perfect name for him. I love, love, love that slip. I haven’t tried making one of these slips since you did the tutorial but hope to soon. All-in-all I think this outfit is going to be an attention getter and I predict a successful auction.

What you mentioned about still knowing how to sew, well I had been away from it for so long doing all the prep work for taxes and catching up with things in general that I wasn’t sure I hadn’t forgotten how. I decided to start with making a Spring Fling dress for my Maru Mini, Joy (aka Janeen Joy). I chose a piece of fabric I used for a dress for my RRFF Hanna. It is such pretty fabric and I’m glad I have a good size piece of it rather than just a fat quarter. This is a different kind of dress than Hanna’s and it works perfectly for this one too. I initially put lace on a piece of tulle attached to the dress thinking it would “peek out” from the bottom. Instead the lace was too heavy and pulled the tulle down too far so it looked like her slip was too long for the dress. That was a lot of “toos”, so I took the lace off the tulle and attached it to the bottom of the dress. Perfect! Then I decided I didn’t want to have her “step” into the dress so I took out the back seam and cut a longer strip of Velcro for the back. Much better. I use Velcro because I’m the one dressing the dolls and it works for me – not to mention I really hate sewing on snaps. Mostly because it’s hard to see the holes in them even with my reading glasses and also because they keep falling and I can’t find them so I end up having to get another one. All of this would normally have been considered before I even started the dress but, as I said, I was feeling like I I’d never done this before.

I had a great Mothers’ Day. After church we all – Me, David, Sean and his family and Jason and his girlfriend – all went to our favorite hibachi restaurant. We had a fun cook and the food was better than ever. There was a rather amusing moment when we were ordering our meals. Jaiden was ordering something off the children’s menu, which is usually 12 and under most places but was 10 and under there. The waiter mentioned that and looked at Dionne but before Dionne could say anything Jaiden piped up with “Mom you know I’m 11 years old”. Since the meal for an adult was $10.00 more and Jaiden doesn’t eat that much the waiter actually let it go. I laughed because everyone knows that for children adding years is high on their priority list and lying about their age is something they don’t get doing. I’m surprised she did say she was 11 1/2 which she almost is.
