It feels wonderful to be home…

I hope ALL the Sofa Sisters who are moms had a wonderful Mother’s Day! I did! We went to lunch with Kristoffer and got caught up on everything that has been going on in our lives.
In the evening we had a 2 1/2 hour phone call from Rebecca and Karn and got caught up with them as well.

I’m ready to sleep in my own bed tonight, so I’ll just share a few things I bought on my visit to Springfield, MO. I had such a WONDERFUL time with my sisters…I was sad to see it end, but grateful for our time together!!

This won’t necessarily be that exciting, but I just enjoyed my Sunday and didn’t want to stress over a blog post…

When we were at the “BIN” store, I found these few things, each for 99 cents…
some “girlie safety glasses, a pair of readers, a pack of 24 Swiffer disposable mops pads, a mini level just for me, a wallet…and these things. (I didn’t take pictures of all my things because I had put them away…)

Stickers…you know how I love stickers!

3 stacks of Washi Tape…all for .99 cents.

…some scratch off pictures for kids…

There were even some Our Generation doll boxes… this was a pretty cute one…

The back lists what is included…

The BIN store was fun!

At the Vintage Peddler Antique Market I showed you that picture of all their ribbons… as it turned out, only a few of them were actually silk ribbons. Lots of them were rayon and grosgrain… these were the silk ribbons I bought… enough for some wider bows.

On the way back home we stopped at a few antique stores… guess what “yours truly” found… just a couple pieces of fabric… I love the tiny blue print…

I got these Mini balls from Rebecca. Inside each ball were these tiny purses with tiny accessories to go with them… I think they’ll make cute “accessories” for my tiny girls…

Kristoffer gave me a little plaque…he knows me…

I received some gift cards too…

Well, I guess that’s enough show and tell from me!!!

Maybe tomorrow will be about dolls… remember, this is a blog (mostly) about dolls!!

Thanks everyone,
Blessings, Jeanne

That’s the kind of “souvenirs” I like,Jeanne–things that you can use at some point in the future! I especially liked the stickers and washi tape, and, of course, those tiny purses!! Would love to find something like that (I can just hear my Gigi informing me that she NEEDS that pink one!! LOL)

It has been Very hot (for us) out here in the Seattle area. At 89 today, we set a new record for this date. It’s not going to cool down for at least another day. Our friend Jon spent some hours in our yard this afternoon, getting ivy trimmed back, etc. Our azalea is in full and glorious bloom again (some of you may remember my sharing a picture a year or two ago–it’s even bigger this year!), as is our lilac. Sadly, we lost some of our lilac in the ice storm last winter, and some from heavy snow about 3-4 years ago. One of the stumps left from the snow is now sprouting green, so it’s coming back again–yay!!

Hope everyone had a lovely day today.

I like the mini accessories too. I entered “MF Miniature Purse and Makeup” in Search and up popped the little purses. It said $6 for a set of five but was actually much less. So cute. Have fun.

Yes, isn’t it nice to be home again, Jeanne! But the time you spent with your sisters is time well spent and worth it! It’s fun to go through all the little things you bought when gone for a time and look through them once again, isn’t it? almost like Christmas morning!

My “big” day for the weekend was Saturday. We traveled down to Cape Girardeau to see our oldest granddaughter graduate from Southeast Mo. State University! Maggie got her degree in three years, and we are so proud of her! It was fun to see our college again, and to see how it has grown, since Michael and I went there! We went all through the town after the ceremony, and there was some kind of flea market going on down at the river front, all along the painted wall that separates the Mississippi from land. I thought for a minute I would see you there, but remembered you just had come back from Springfield. Anyway, it was a fun day for us, and we caught up with Jennifer and family for a picnic lunch to celebrate. The weather was beautiful, until our drive home, when we got caught in the morst horrible rainstorm the last 30 miles form home! Needless to say, yesterday, Mother’s Day, was spent resting!

Glad Jeanne is home safe and sound. What fun goodies she found too. 🙂
Yesterday, we had a nice visit and lunch with daughter, son in law, and family. Absolutely, have not seen that much traffic heading down in all of our visits. We think it was folks headed north for wine tasting. Then, heading back, thought we had it made in the shade, until the dreaded merge along the bay. Then, bumper to bumper/stop and go the whole length of our bay drive. Took an extra hour to get across. We figured out that it was the stop light where those coming home from Napa, joined the highway. But, the view at that slow pace was nice. Water on both sides of the highway, that it is predicted will cover it completely sometime in the future, global warming, but until then, tons of birds bobbing for dinner. The variety of shore birds was outstanding. Got home in time to feed our own menagerie of cats and crows. Fun day. 🙂

  4. What a fun post! I love that tiny blue print too. What treasurers. Those tiny purses are just amazing… with all the teeny parts and pieces. Fun gift cards! You can pick your own gifts😍 You did have a great day!

Dear Jeanne, I like your “finds.” Your son’s sign is so cute. And your daughters little dolly gifts were adorable.

Well, we are half way through May. I am holding on to every moment!

Dorothy, what is the attraction for you with the month of May? You always are so happy for May to be here. Was there something special about it in your life?

I hope all the sofa sisters had a Happy Mother’s Day as well. My mom, daughter, and I had a lovely day. The weather was perfect. I also spent time with my furry children and even found ten minutes to spend with my dolls while my kitties admired them also.
The Washi tape is really nice. Love the silk ribbons and tiny blue print fabric.
The little purses and makeup are perfect for the RRFF girls when they are pretending and playing dress up.
