I’m SO thrilled to have Ruby Red Fashion Friends, Rose’s, Dress set finished…

It took me all afternoon to get some decent pictures and make a few more pieces but I think you’ll be pleased!

Rose has all of her pieces to her new “Chartreuse Fantasy” set… (Thanks for the name Joy! Love it!) I just hope it fits on the “title” line on Ebay with everything else I have to say!

I decided to make Rose a hair bow from some “perfectly matched” ribbon I had. I didn’t want to put it on a clip because sometimes that pulls the hair out as you clip it on… SO… I thought and thought and thought and even prayed for a solution and look what I did…

I made the ribbon on some floral wire with the ends tucked under and hot glued… then I doubled the wire so there were no blunt ends and folded that in half… I stitched the middle to the middle of the back of the bow and then hot glued a circle of fabric to cover the stitching. Now you can poke in the ribbon wherever you like… it’s wonderful… Here’s what I mean…

You can easily position it on top, on the side, in the back, etc… it’s perfect!

Then I decided I wanted to decorate a hat for her as well… I had this yellow hat and they fit the Ruby Red dolls so well; it was my starting point. I looked through all my parchment flowers and picked out the colors in the dress and came up with this design… on a piece of chartreuse rayon ribbon around the crown for a base… I hot glued them around the hat and tied the excess ribbon in a bow in the back…

Here are all the pieces… I hope to get it listed tomorrow, but again, it’s Food Pantry day, so no promises…

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

Another lovely outfit, Jeanne–and since chartreuse isn’t really one of my favorite colors, that’s saying a lot!! I think my favorite part is how the flowers so perfectly pick up the colors in the print. Okay, well, the shoes are my favorite, but the hat is a close second!!

It almost looks like you have made a hairpin out of wire! Might commercially produced hairpins work? I think you can still get them. Maybe they wouldn’t be sturdy enough, I don’t know, but sometimes you can find larger hairpins of a plastic stuff that might work. It’s been a long time since my hair was long enough to need hairpins, so I really haven’t looked lately.

    Another winner, I do think!

Oh Jeanne, that is the most darling set! It almost makes me want to get a Rose doll, even if she isn’t smiling like Sara! And that outfit, is just perfect for her! I love what you did with the pretty bow, and that hat is just the sweetest thing! I myself can’t see how you let this go without keeping it for yourself! Rose is going to be very sad when the day comes that she has to take it off, so you had better let her know beforehand, but she might get the idea after seeing all the others with nothing on!

This color is just perfect for St. Patrick’s Day coming up. if the seller misses this St. Pat’s Day, there is always next year, and of course, spring and Easter this year too. Now if only we could get rid of this rainy, dreary and chilly weather!

  3. This outfit screams versatility. I personally love when accessories “beg” to be used with other items and outfits. The hat and shoes are gorgeous together. You did a wonderful job of coordinating everything. Hard to believe things just happened from your “stash stuff” and you didn’t go shopping for the specific bits and pieces. Well done.

Bow and a hat. Very versatile. This is so cute for Rose and any other lucky RRFF cutie. Hope you have time to get it listed.
Well, we had tons of rain yesterday. Heard on the news that we had 2 1/2 Inches in 24 hours, but it was steady all day and seemed like more. All of our drainage systems worked for awhile, but with the deluge, behind our retaining wall looked like a lake. All gone this morning. Flooding everywhere I think.
    Keep dry everyone. 🙂

What a beautiful outfit. I love when there is both a hair adornment and a hat. I like choices. And the shoes are a perfect addition. This outfit has it all. I know it’s going to do well.

  6. Oh, Jeanne,
How much creativity we see in this outfit. You are so talented. The outfit is beautiful.
Joy, I hope the weather is better today in your area, my best to you.

Lucky us today. Sun with a few clouds. So nice after the rain attack last night. 🙂

I’m glad you got some sunshine, Joy!

I like that: “rain attack”. I will have to remember that one. We get lots of rain attacks in the Seattle area!!

  7. Congrats on your new doll, Kathie. Her little purse is so cute and the green mani/pedi is unique. Too sweet that your hubby brought you a box cutter to open her.

Great idea on the hair ribbon. Looks like you made a larger version of Goody bun pins. I used those (metal and plastic) all the time for hair embellishments for my daughter’s hair when she was young and for her dolls. Still have a staff of them.
The hat is a great addition and can be worn with just the dress for those sunny days ahead.

  8. Good thing I checked back… my words didn’t post.
Guess this is even more of a favorite now with the bow and hat. It can be most any time of year except maybe Christmas🤭Good luck with the auction.
Maybe all the California sisters will not have to worry about fires this summer?🥹 By now we always have little tulip tips showing and some blades of green grass…boy not this year🥲
    Have a good weekend ladies😍
