Making tiny shoes for 10″ Boneka dolls…

My weekend was busy again (as usual), but I spent some time Saturday drafting another shoe pattern for Noel. Sure I could have gotten her dress listed on Ebay and she could have worn the white or pink shoes I already had… and maybe I should have… but I decided making a new pattern and seeing what I could come up with might be more fun…

I made the pattern on Saturday, but only got a prototype shoe made in a soft green leather…

I just made the one green shoe, and when I saw that it fit Noel’s foot, pretty well, I decided to take it apart and use it to revise my paper pattern just slightly…

Using some of my white leather, this is what I came up with… Sunday afternoon and evening!

I added 2 little flowers cut from leather too…

This white leather is slightly stiffer than the green was, so they are a little wider looking on her foot, but they still slide on well with her stockings…

We had our neighbor over to watch the football playoffs game, and he was kind of impressed that I made something so small, while he was there. (I had just started on them when he came over) I was working on them while they were in the living room, and I could see the TV if I looked out my doorway. Then when the game got close to the end, I joined them. (GO CHIEFS!) :o)

After he went home, and I had coated the inside of Noel’s shoes with a stiffner… I turned my attention to Ten Ping’s bunny dress and jacket set…

I finished the pantalettes and got the skirt sewn to the bodice…

The wool felt jacket was next… For starters, I just stitched the edges in white… and will figure out what do add to it… I’m going to make a bunny purse, so it won’t be anything busy… maybe just buttons down the front…

Well, it’s after 1:00, so I need to get to bed… We are supposed to get freezing rain tonight.. but I hope not… :o(

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

Those little shoes are just as cute as they can be, Jeanne. They go so well with the whole outfit! Although the blue boots were cute, too, they just have a different “vibe” and may need an outfit of their own.

I love how TenPing’s outfit is shaping up, too, and the pretty lilac color of the jacket. Yes, I agree–keep it simple so the bunny purse will really show up!!

Well, Dolly Fever has hit this house again. Those of you who are familiar with Affordable Designs/Leeann probably know that Denis is starting to sell some of his samples and pre-production event dolls (I guess he’d kept one of each different version he did, plus different “hair sample dolls”, etc.), deciding that he really doesn’t need to have ALL of them himself! Well about 3 weeks ago, I ordered the “games dolls play” one (who is, I think, waiting at the PO for me now, as there was a yellow card in my box Sat. but the service window wasn’t open).

Early Sat. morning I had to get up to the bathroom, and realized, the “Leeann’s History” event had started just one hour earlier (the curse of living in the Pacific time zone–everything starts at oh-dark-thirty out here!) and Maybe there was one of the pieces I’d admired still remaining. And yes, there was–my favorite one, as it happened–the “Carousel Loulou” pre-production sample–so I bought her, and wouldn’t you know it, the blonde “hair sample blonde Loulou” jumped into the cart with her!! I guess she didn’t want to be left behind!

At least these come by mail, and I’m the one who goes to the PO to pick it up these days, so I don’t have to worry too much about smuggling them into the house!!

Congratulations, Charlotte….some fun belated birthday presents and easy smuggle ins! Good for you!! 👏🎂 hope to see pics of dolls and Babycakes!

Jeanne, the shoes are darling. I even love the plain green ones. What magic.
The Ten Ping set is precious. Helen’s idea of a little lace is a good one. I find when lace is added to the bottom of a skirt, it can easily get crumpled up in storage and needing an ironing. How about a puffy little slip not in tulle but that has some lace to peek down under?
Dorothy in PA and the World; where are you? Hope you and your dollies are doing well, and maybe doing some fun traveling and teas. You are missed.

Congratulations on your new family members. Hopefully you will do better than me at sending requested pictures.

The little white shoes are really cute, Jeanne, and they somehow are right in the middle of being boots and flats, so work out well I think! It looks like they will stay on very well too! I like the fact that they are white and not too busy looking down there!

Ten Ping’s outfit is really a cute little one, and I bet the bunny purse will seal the deal! If anone bought or is buying the new tiny Sara from RRFF, this will appeal to them too!

So you all were rooting for the Chief’s too? Wasn’t that a nail biter at the end?
Another “snow day” here in St. Louis, but the culprit is ice this time!

  3. I just love those little white leather shoes! I can’t imagine making shoes out of leather but I have purchased some faux leather to attempt making a purse.
A couple years ago I did a project for my doll club making egg shaped felt purses for RubyRed Fashion Friends dolls and they came out really cute. I will try to send you a picture of them.

  4. Guess it is just me, but I would like to see some tiny lace peaking out from under Ten Ping’s dress and pantalettes. It just feels like it needs something.

  5. Those shoes are just too too cute! That green color is perfect so I hope you reassemble and complete that pair of shoes.
The bunny outfit is looking really sweet, can’t wait to see the finished outfit.

Another day without receiving the blog. Is anyone else having this problem? If not, can Jeanne, resubscribe me?
I would like to see a pic of Noel’s dress without the pantalettes and either just the tights or with a pair of lace topped socks. Helen’s idea of lace around the skirt or maybe a fancy slip peeking out sounds cute as well. I think that might showcase the shoes. 🙂 I like the green shoes too. For Ten, maybe the jacket needs a little bunny on the lapel? And maybe she will be carrying a tiny basket with pastel pink and purple eggs. 🙂 Both outfits are perfect timing for spring/Easter. Did anyone decide to preorder a RRGaleria mini Sara? She’s the same size as Ten Ping and will need another outfit after she arrives. 🙂
Was below 32 last night and still is hovering there at the moment. Nothing like the ice that Linda is having though.

    1. Loving the white shoes! Those little flowers are just the perfect touch😍
I was surprised to see the lilac jacket ..assumed the bunnies were pink but color is so hard to photograph. Now the lilac comes across as a great match☺️
Fun yo see the rest of the bunny accessories😍

    2. Hi Joy, I wanted to thank you again for your concern for my kitty, Truffle. I finally received the results of her biopsy and culture this morning. Her biopsy was negative and I am so so grateful to God and relieved. It is confirmed that she does have asthma due to her years in the parking lot before I found and rescued her. She will be on an oral medication as well as an inhaler, She is already doing much better just from having all the stuff cleaned out of her nose from the scope and the short-term steroid.

Oh, Laura, that is great news. So glad Truffle is having such a wonderful life with you. 🙂

  7. I thought it was a fluke Saturday, so I didn’t comment on it, but both Saturday and today I received just the “Jeanne” labeled blog that is from your email address ant shows up in my promo folder. The “I dream…” one that comes to my Inbox didn’t show today or Saturday.
Noel’s shoes are really cute and the flowers are a sweet touch.
The bunny dress is looking very cute as well.

Well, you are in better shape than I am. I haven’t received the blog in several days. Something is going on. 🙂

  8. If you have any teeny tiny bunny buttons, one of those would look cute on Ten Ping’s jacket. I also think that some lace would look nice on the bottom of her dress and pantalettes.

Usually my colors are right on but the bunny fabric looks pink and the jacket lavender. I too like the idea of some lace somewhere on the bunny outfit. Can’t wait to see the bunny purse. The shoes are adorable and the flowers are so sweet, but I was wondering how the shoes would work cut a little shallower. That’s a question I’ve had before but forgot to ask. Do they fall off if they are a little lower cut?

I usually just refresh the previous day’s blog, so I didn’t pay attention to whether I’m getting it or not. I’ll take a look.

We had torrential downpours all day yesterday. They appear to have preceded a cold front. It was 39 degrees when we went out at lunchtime. My hands still haven’t warmed up. The temp actually seems to be dropping as the day goes on.

I must admit I succumbed to the charms of mini Sara. Of course I will have to name her something else because her big sister Sara already has the name. She is so cute. I can’t imagine a pint-sized Sara. Can’t wait to see her in person but it’s a long way off when you’re dealing with dolly fever.

    1. Joy in northern CA

Oh, so glad you are getting mini Sara. I’m sure you will be making a welcome home outfit for her. Here, trying to find some old Ten Ping patterns that might work. 🙂
