A hodge-podge of a post, but a GOOD one!

Thanks for all the kind compliments on many of my Felicity dresses. I promise to find more of her and some of my other older dolls dresses, but I thought today I’d share a few emails I have received while I’m searching for more pictures…

And… this will give Linda a bit of time to find pictures of her “White velvet wedding dress” with her red Poinsetta’s as her flowers at her Christmas time wedding! Happy Anniversary, Linda, on 56 years with Michael! I’ve met both of them and they are 2 peas in a pod… and just as sweet as can be!

I received an email from Donnell back on December 17th and I’m just now getting to share it… Donnell came to my house I’m guessing more than a year ago, and brought a few of her favorite dolls… One of them happened to be Sara, a Ruby Red Fashion Friend doll, that I had never heard of…and I’m not kidding, (am I Donnell?)… it truly was love at first sight. I just loved Sara and had to have one of my own… I set out to get her (practically) as soon as Donnell left my driveway! We had a lovely visit and she brought me some Doll magazines and it was such fun visiting with another dolly lover. Well, she had sent me this picture of some of her favorite dolls by Connie Lowe… (the Stella line!)
Donnell said she had just bought her first serger… partially funded by a sister for her birthday/Christmas gift. It’s a Janome air threader! She said she was hoping to play a little later today, but first she had to practice for her church choir musical.

Here is a picture of Holly (on the left) and Robin (on the right) that Sally just received. Sally didn’t like Holly’s wig at all, so she pulled out the black Afro which looked good, but decided she liked her a tiny bit better in an extra Maya wig she had. And poor Robin’s wig!! She said it was a butcher chop job on the bangs, and the wig cap didn’t cover the skull cap. Grrr. So another wig to the rescue, and now she looks like an Alpine lass with a wind blown face. She said it was fun mixing up the outfits and thought seeing them would make me smile. ACTUALLY…ANY of your girls make me smile, Sally! They look like they came to the right house and will be cared for very well…and who else has THAT MANY SISTERS??? :o)

Joy had asked a question that I wanted to answer but I forgot to write down that question… I went back and found these 3 things that “MAY HAVE BEEN THEM??”

She asked if the roof in my sewing room ever got fixed! Yes… Hallelujah! It did! They were there quite a while spraying water on the roof trying to figure out where the spot was where the water was getting in. My hubby had already been on the roof with a hose spraying it too, so he had pretty much pin pointed the spot… they just had to verify it, then it was a matter of me zeroing in on where the drips were running down the wall… as they caulked or glued the areas. It was wonderful to finally have that fixed and my thread holder put back up on the wall. I was tired of “dancing” around it as it was propped up against things in my room.

The next thing Joy “may” have asked was about the Christmas Day Giveaway at the Food Pantry. She asked if they toys for the kids were donated to the fire department or other toy distribution places. Actually, they keep the toys that didn’t get picked for the next year, so they have to buy less… also if someone new comes in town or if they hear of someone in need, they have a supply of diapers or toys for children and don’t have to rush out and buy something. The pastor there manages things very well, but he’s very generous to anyone in need.

The only other question, and it wasn’t really a question, was “will I be making any shorter jackets for the RRFF dolls?” Not the full length coats, but shorter ones, maybe sportier ones, I’m guessing? I’ll have to ask her to send me a picture of two of exactly the kind she means… but yes, I can do that!
Joy, I think you sent me a couple pictures of 2 new dolls you received, but I can’t find them anywhere in my email… and I don’t think I’ve shared them already, have I? Maybe resend them to me?

I received a few pictures from Jan Smith, but there was no explanation on them except a name of the outfit… Blue Ice. Did you make this Jan? I have tried and tried and tried to get it to upload and finally today after 5 attempts I did get it… maybe you can tell us about it… I’m sure it’s American Girl size by looking at the skates.

This brings us to Katie…remember her? She lives in Billings, Montana, in a retirement home, with her 91 year old hubby. She is 87 years young and they have been married 67 years! She loves doing crafts but has been having some difficulties lately, but she told me she doesn’t plan on stopping until she absolutely has to! She makes cards for her friends and neighbors and family from buttons and embroidery? She sent me 3 pictures of some of her cards, and here they are… they must take a lot of time to complete…but they are totally sewn and put together with LOVE! Thank you Katie!

Well, that’s it for today… Hope you enjoyed each little tidbit today! I’ll keep trying to make things interesting for all of my friends around the world.

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

First of all, congratulations to Linda and hubby Michael on 56 years! That’s wonderful, and increasingly rare these days. I, too, would love to see your white velvet gown! I had thought if I’d had a winter wedding, I would like to wear white velvet. But we were married in May, so it was silk-faced peau de soie and lace for me!

My Aunt Linnea and Uncle Fran were married on New Year’s Eve, and always celebrated with a midnight steak dinner! Both gone now–she’s been gone several years, and he joined her in heaven in October–but sorely missed. She was mom’s sister, and they came out here and spent several weeks caring for my dad during his final illness. They were our rocks.

Thanks to Donnell and Sally for sharing pictures of their wonderful dolls! I’ve seen pictures of some of the Stella dolls, and they certainly have winsome faces. But Sally…so good you had extra wigs to swap out for the ill-fitting ones! What were they thinking?!

Katie, thanks for sharing pictures of your beautiful cards! They are truly works of art–such precision required to stitch those words and the details, and the buttons are such fun touches!

Good morning everyone! Ahh, a day for starting anew after the big Christmas rush and celebrations! We had a nice anniversary, just chilling and doing what we felt like doing, snacking on Christmas cookies, and relaxing! I did not want to go out for dinner as we had plenty of leftovers from our Christmas dinner, and besides, it was cold out there! Still cold here today, but a warm up is coming!

Thank you all for the anniversary wishes, and I’ll start looking for wedding pictures as soon as I can.

So nice to see the grouping of dolls from Donnell and Sally! It is so interesting to see what others like to collect and what they do with them, and it is certainly is fun to talk about dolls with other collectors!

Katie’s cards are truly works of art…and love! I’m sure that anyone who received one of those precious cards will always treasure them! What a sweet idea!

Loved seeing all of the fun photos today. Donnell’s, Connie Lowe girls are so fun. Around here, we have Stella and Meili. Since Connie is no longer doing preorders, it has become rather difficult to pick up any others which have to come from actually being at a doll show or being lucky enough to find one for sale on a group. 🙂
Sally’s Ruby Reds Holly and Robin, look lovely in their new wigs and outfit switches. I had great luck with the Robin who moved in here recently as her wig fits nicely. 🙂 I understand that RRFF Rose, will be headed to new homes as well within 20 days.
Montana Katie’s cards are lovely. Such frameable works of art. 🙂
Meadow Dolls has been having an extras sale at Meadowdolls.com. Lots have added dolls from their wish lists. 🙂
So glad to hear that the sewing room leak is no more. 🙂 The Ruby red girls around here need jackets. Like parkas, jackets with zippers, hoodies, or even tailored blazers with buttons to finish out the winter season. 🙂
We had buckets of rain last night so that was helpful. Hope it keeps coming as our water source is still at an extreme low. 🙁
Very nice to have a few days to unwind from the big holiday. Fun to shop the after Christmas sales online as well. 🙂

I think it’s actually meadowdolls.org, Joy–and thanks for the heads up. I could be in trouble here!! After I get back from lunch with hubby and then PT!! We shall see….

Jeanne, what a lot of incredible Felicity dresses. Each one a treasure. Actually, I have no recall of that scrumptious white brocade; I am wondering if Donna got that one? I bought a few of your Felicity dresses from her when she was downsizing. By the way, Sofa Sisters, I have too many Felicity dresses. If you are interested in seeing some pictures and perhaps adding to your wardrobes , ask Jeanne for my email. Same with clothes for your AG’s of any era, including historical AG outfits.

Linda, we all would dearly like to see some wedding pictures, and congratulations.

Donnel, thank you for this picture of some of your sweet girls and thanks for getting dear Jeanne on the RRFF train!

Katie. My word! Those cards are exquisite works of art and so much love as well as time invested. Keep up that wonderful work. You are one of my heroines with your spirit and creative gifts. Thanks for sharing.

Ingrid, I am rather worried about you in upstate NY. We hope everything is all right with you and your family. What a nightmare. Please let us know.

As for RR jackets….maybe a blazer? A swing coat? A duffle coat? Joy always has wonderful ideas.

Hope everyone had a safe holiday and wonderful time.Barb, I hope your voice didn’t suffer and that you and David had a joyous time singing.

Katie’s cards are absolutely wonderful and what a joy it must be to be on the receiving end of one of them. What an original concept.

Your hodgepodge of a post today was a lot of fun.

  6. A fun post☺️
Katie’s card with Cinderella Is so cute and original. Enjoying your craft keeps you busy and young😉
Donnells dolls have quite the fun look about them and Sally you are an expert with wigs for sure!
Didn’t get a doll for Christmas but hubby did get me the new book on Dewees Cochran for a Christmas/birthday gift. I’m saving it for a day with nothing else scheduled so I can spend some good time with it. Practically need a big tray to set on my lap to hold it. It is so large and HEAVY.🥹
Pour some hot tea and finish up those Christmas cookies😍
