Thanks for all your comments… I wanted to get to them but it just didn’t happen.
My day was busy and I didn’t get as much done on Samantha’s set as I would have liked. But… we did decide on a pair of creamy colored boots and she decided she wanted a brown ribbon hair bow….with a few flowers sprinkled in…
It’s a bit dark looking in my pictures and hard to see with her brown hair, but in person, it looks differently…and much prettier…and easier to distinguish her hair from the ribbon. Of course, the winner may want it for a blonde haired beauty! :o)
I added a piece of brown elastic in a loop on one end of the ribbon and a larger button on the other end…it’s easy to reach around her neck and put it on…
So she has a dress, a slip, and a hair bow and a necklace…what else does she need, or is this enough?

You know, I’m not a “brown person” but I do love that brown ribbon you used–it looks iridescent in my pictures, and very rich. It’s a beautiful!
What next…a reticule, perhaps? That would be my thought!

Oh, that beautiful bow is the cherry on the top, Jeanne! I don’t think brown is done enough, (sorry Charlotte), but it makes a beautiful statement for the bow! It looks very rich, and perfectly balances the whole look, plus those beautiful felt flowers do the trick!
This will be a perfect fall dress, and I also like the cream colored boots, that give it an old fashioned vibe. I think, in all it’s simplicity, that this is one of the prettiest outfits you have made for Samantha!

I don’t think the set needs anything else, unless you might want to add a train case, if she is traveling. Or a tiny little kitten that has followed her home.
We’re on for actual rain Sunday. Highly unusual for us as the rain around here usually doesn’t arrive until late October. Not that I’m complaining as it should definitely help with the fire danger. 🙂

Jeanne, I absolutely love the dress for Samantha. The gorgeous brown bow on her head with the flowers peaking out on top is just adorable. I also love your touch of the embellishment on her waist. I would love to see a drawstring Victorian bag on her arm to go with somehow? It would make this ensemble complete. So precious! I love all your creations. Guess what? I go to pick up my female Westie puppy next Sat. on the 24 Sept. I am soooo excited. She will be 8 weeks old and very tiny. I miss my terriers. I purchased a carrier on for our car so she can sleep in it when we drive her home from Brighton, CO (outside of Denver) to Colorado Springs, CO where we live. Wish me luck!

I’m glad you love Samantha’s dress. It is very pretty in person…and I’m trying to figure out what color to call it when I’m describing it… the background color is almost a faded olive green…

I didn’t get to comment that day when you asked about the fall colors. I like the colors that go with each season and I’m so glad I live where the seasons change. I love the autumn colors of brown, rust, loden green, etc.
Samantha’s dress is lovely and the hairbow is the crowning touch with the velvet flowers. I agree that a reticule would finish things off to perfection.

We live in Southern Illinois so we too, love seeing all the Fall colors and they should be coming soon as the temps have started dipping down in the 50’s recently.
