A few pictures to wish everyone a Happy Mother’s Day…

Laura sent a few pictures and wanted to wish everyone a happy Mother’s Day… I’m glad she did because my day was packed from early morning till now… 11:03…I only went in my sewing room to take Rozen’s dress off and that was it! I’ll be back tomorrow, hopefully with news of the doll who will be up next for a new dress, or maybe something other than a dress! Any suggestions? :o)

From Laura:
Gilead, Honeysuckle (yes, I have two of the Coconut Westies, an original from 2000 and the first magnetic one from 2001 so one can hold the accessories), and I would like to wish everyone a Happy Mother’s Day this weekend. Gilead is baking dress shaped cookies to celebrate and Honeysuckle is helping and now has one all packed up and holding it. She promises she didn’t lick it although any pet mommy has eaten something licked by a pet before. LOL Any takers?

After an enjoyable day of baking and helping with the frosting and sprinkles, Honeysuckle was sticky and needed a bath. At least she has her fun rubber ducky to make it more fun.

Thank you Laura! Happy Mother’s Day a bit early to you too!
See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

Hm, suggestions: A while back someone mentioned something about a mix/match set again, like one you did a while back. You know, a couple of tops, a skirt and maybe shorts or pants, and perhaps a couple of accessories? That might be fun. And it might be time for something for a LD again….

Laura your pictures are wonderful! I can see that Honeysuckle was quite the helper in the kitchen!! 😂 Glad Gilead was able to get him in the bathtub–not all doggies enjoy baths. When we had our little dog, she would shiver the whole time she was in the tub (but she had to give the bath water a taste-test before I could wash her)!! Then once she was out and somewhat dried, she’d get what my friend refers to as “the zoomies”–zooming up and down the hallway at high speed, then flop down and pant for a bit, and then repeat.

Linda, thanks for the tip about misting Molly’s braids with a little water; I hadn’t thought of that, but I’ll bet that would do the trick. Will have to try that next time.

Thank you, Charlotte. Yes, Honeysuckle didn’t mind her bath. Actually, both of my Yorkies and Collie Mix enjoyed a bath or at least the end result of being clean and with a topknot or ear bows and a treat for being such good girls. I remember the zoomies and my kitties get them as well sometimes for no apparent reason.

    2. Hi Charlotte,
Yes, a mix and match set for someone might be fun! Thanks for the suggestions!
Whenever Reuben gets a bath or even comes in from being outside in the rain, my hubby wipes him down with a towel first and then he runs from one end of the house to the other as fast as he can, then he rubs against the couch or the love seat in the sitting room and finally settles down. My hubby calls him “wet activated!” :o)

How cute to see Gilead and Honeysuckle baking those adorable cookies, Laura! Did you make them or get them in a kit? I actually was surprised to see that you have a modern doll and accessories, since you are always mentioning the historical dolls. I too, have a Coconut dog with a magnetic mouth from long ago. Love the chef’s hat Honeysuckle is wearing, and the second picture of her with the rubber ducky! Happy Mother’s Day to you too!

Jeanne, I hope Rozen isn’t too downtrodden today, finding out it has all been a dream to have that pretty outfit! I’m sure there will be many more in the future for her!

    1. HI Linda,
I do think Rozen has forgotten about the dress set so far… no mention of it yet! :o)
      Thanks Linda,
      Blessings, Jeanne

Thank you, Linda. Actually, Gilead is not ever truly modern. She is my time-traveling doll and “lives” at these various points in time- with Samantha (Edwardian), pioneer, Antebellum/Civil War with my renamed Caroline and renamed Marie-Grace, 1930’s, and 1980’s. in the 1930’s and 1980’s she stands alone.

She is in the 1980’s above which although it loathes me to agree to it is now historical. How can my teen years be historical? Anyway, capri pants and felt clogs were popular in the 1980’s so this outfit is perfect plus I’ve always loved to bake. All of it is older AG when it was AGOT. I have a couple of the old Halloween costumes (Medieval Princess and Wood Fairy, and Sugarplum Coat for Edwardian era, the croquet set for 1930’s, and this outfit along with a few of Coconut’s old accessory sets for where ever makes sense. Everything else is historical from basically 2011 or before. Caroline’s travel basket, spinning top, Rebecca’s curling iron, and Courtney’s Pac- Man and I am currently finished except a couple CYO clothing tees until the new historical to consider.
Here are the links for the above sets.

Dear Jeanne, Happy Mothers Day (and Grandmothers Day, and Auntie Day, and Godmother Day and Mentor Day) to you and all of the Sofa Sisters.

I love seeing Laura’s photographs. It looks like both “chefs” were having big fun.

    1. HI Dorothy,
Happy Mother’s Day back to you too… and all the Sofa Sisters. (I was explaining the term “Sofa Sisters” to my hubby the other day. I’m not sure he entirely understood the “concept!” Oh well, we get it, don’t we? :o)
      Thanks Dorothy,
      Blessings, Jeanne

Fun and cute pictures! Happy Mother’s Day! Our baby appears to be healthy and lively. She pushed up high with both feet pushing against the probe thing I think. The ultrasound machine was neat. It showed blue and red to show the movement of blood! That was amazing! And yup, she is a GIRL!!! Yay! Thanks to God for everything!!!

    1. Linda in St. Louis

How nice to be getting a baby girl, Karen! Happy Mother’s Day to you!

      1. Laura, love your pictures. Gilead and Honeysuckle look like they’re having fun. I’m sure Honeysuckle can’t resist wanting a cookie! Honeysuckle, “ Can I have a tweat, huh huh … just a wittle tweat?”
Happy Mother’s Day to all of you.
Karen so happy for you! A girl! Yay!!

        1. Laura in Ohio

Thank you, Paula. I’m sure Honeysuckle is saying that. There were certain baked good I’ve made that the dogs went nuts over until they had a small taste.and had to be told no more and get a pet treat instead.

      2. Laura in Ohio

Congratulations on another GIRL, Karen. How wonderful!!
        Thank you for the compliments.

    2. HI Karen,
HUGE Congratulations on another baby girl! How wonderful… I bet her sisters will be super excited when they find (or found) out! Now, you don’t have to worry about buying new “boys” things… although, I bet your hubby might have wanted a son just a little bit… maybe! I know several men who are surrounded by “just girls” and they love it very much!
      Thanks Karen,
      Blessings,Jeanne

Hi Jeanne! I actually took all 4 girls along to the ultrasound. I wasn’t sure if I should take the oldest 2 out of school for it or not, but my mother and 2 sisters thought it was a good idea. They might be able to bond with the baby better sooner and learn more than they would have at school. They were very happy to come. Marion was praying for a girl. I think they are really happy it is one. Joseph had to work, so we wrapped the ultrasound pictures up that were in a yellow folder with a pink blanket and put a sparkly pillow on top inside of a box. It is hard to read him sometimes, but he sounded open to God’s Will whatever It is. He loves spending time with his girls, but if we ever get a boy, I think he would be pleased. Thanks, Jeanne 🙂

Dear Karen, how wonderful! You will have another daughter at your tea table. What fun.

How fun to see Coconut and Gilead’s great dress cookies. Who would have thought? I don’t think I’ve ever seen that set. So cute. Thanks for the early Mother’s Day pics. 🙂
Speaking of Mother’s Day, my little RRFF Siblie Ten Ping, landed in Anchorage yesterday and now shows delivery on Friday. Can’t wait for her arrival. At least the box is on the smaller side. 🙂

    1. HI Joy,
Congratulations on your new Ten Ping getting her so quickly. Wouldn’t it be fun if ALL the RRFF dolls came so soon? I might be in trouble if they did, though!
Keep us posted if there are any dolly capers! :o)
      Blessings, Jeanne

    2. Laura in Ohio

Thank you, Joy. It’s an old AGOT set. I put the links up post when I replied to Linda.
I really think it would work fine with the RRFFs as well The cookie cutters would just be large like when we buy 5 inch ones.

    1. HI Paula,
We have grown so accustomed to Joy’s stories about getting new dolls in the house, it’s a let down if they just arrive when no one is around to “ask” about them.
      Blessings, Jeanne

Looks like Gilead has done a great job making some yummy looking cookies. And what a big help Honeysuckle is. Hopefully he won’t eat all the cookies when Gilead isn’t watching. We just bought our dog some cookies that smell good enough to be people cookies. We can no longer find the ones we were buying so we decided to try these. Chelsy loves them.

Karen, how wonderful that your new little one is doing so well. A little girl. How sweet. Do you have a name yet?

As for what to make next, Joy mentioned a few days ago that a summer outfit with shorts, top, etc., should be next. As soon as I finish a dress I have ready to go for my Paola Reina I’m going to start on making some summer short and top sets. I love doing those I guess because I love sewing with summer fabrics.

Will be doing the photo shoot after lunch today. The little girls who will be doing the Maypole dance are so excited they can’t stand still. I hope they don’t become so tired they can’t do the dance when the time comes.

    1. Hi Barbara,
I had so much fun making that pink and white set of yours, I just might do it again… but I haven’t been in my sewing room this morning long enough to see who has their hand raised wanting to be next. We’ll see…
I can’t wait to see your May Pole set up… no pressure to get it done… but we are waiting to see it! :o)
      Blessings, Jeanne

    2. Laura in Ohio

Thank you, Barbara. I think Honeysuckle will be good as she will be allowed to have the one she is holding. Nice you found some now cookies for Chelsy.
looking forward to your Maypole pictures. Since you said you were sending them soon I thought I’d send my Mother’s Day ones early to get them out of the way.

    3. Karen from Kentucky

Thank you, Barbara! We are still thinking about first names. When the baby was very young, a name came to my mind that I thought was appropriate and Joseph seems ok with it, but we will probably wait until the baby is born to share it. I want to honor our Lady of Mount Carmel with her first name (like the other girls’) but not sure how to yet.

    4. Dorothy in PA and the World

Dear Barbara, I can’t wait to see your Maypole photographs!!!

  7. Laura in Ohio

Thank you for letting me share my pictures, Jeanne.

Looking forward to what other’s come up with if you are diverging from the historicals. I think we need a refresher in what dolls you own, not the RRFFs, but AG’s and others.

    1. Hi Laura,
It’s not that I’m wanting to get away from the AG girls, but I have to go where the popularity is among the buyers… I’m not planning to get rid of my bigger girls but a few will be thinned out… it’s just the nature of what I do.
Thank you for sharing your pictures. I think everyone enjoyed seeing them.
      Blessings, Jeanne
