Some dolly pictures all the way from Poland…

Alina sent me some pictures and I wanted to share them with you all this Saturday morning! The 2 little girls are her granddaughters, Zuzia and Maja…

It looks like Zuzia is doing a demonstration of how to make a cake or cupcakes and her dollies are her audience, watching her…

Alina knitted or sewed all of the doll clothes you see her girls wearing… aren’t they fun?

Not to be left out, here’s the dog, Rafi and her sweet kitty, Bambo… I think Rafi is so cute… he almost looks like a stuffed dog… those eyes are SO ADORABLE!

Thanks Alina… it’s always fun to see what everyone is up to…

Me? I’ll be painting today! :o)

Don’t forget, the Christmas dresses on the Ruby Red Fashion Friends ends Sunday evening. I may put a reminder post together tomorrow… you can click on the pictures at the right side bar and see each dress listed on eBay…

Have a wonderful Saturday!
Blessings, Jeanne

What a treat, to have pictures from Alina!! Your granddaughters are so cute! Little Zuzia looks like she is having a lot of fun!

I love to see your knitting, crocheting and sewing. The doll clothes are all lovely. I see you even crocheted some shoes for your Ruby Red Fashion Friend doll!

Rafi and Bamboo are adorable! It looks like maybe they are good friends?

Jeanne, I see that the red dress now has Four bids!! Hm, could a bidding war be on the horizon?!

What a wonderful, darling and sweet post all rolled into one! Who doesn’t love to see little girls playing with their dolls and having fun! Alina, your granddaughters are precious, and that Raif is darling! I can’t forget the kitty, Bamboo, either! What fun you must have with them! Enjoy your time with them your granddaughters now, because it passes all too fast.

You do an amazing job with your knitting too! What a treat to see the clothes you made for the dolls. I wish I could knit, and I think I knitted about 5 or 10 minutes before I knew I was not cut out for that type of thing, but I really admire those that are!

Thank you for sending your pictures to Jeanne!

Forgive me for not saying “Happy Birthday” to Kristoffer, JeanneI remember meeting him several years ago, and thinking what a nice young man he is!

How wonderful to see your beautiful granddaughters, Alina! You’re so fortunate to live close to them. It looks like they’re really into the make believe. They are lucky to have a grandmother who knits so beautifully. As Linda said, they grow up so fast.

I thought that Rafi was the most realistic stuffed animal I’d ever seen before I read the comment again! The kitty 🐈‍⬛ is perfect for Halloween 🎃. Do you celebrate Halloween in Poland or is it just an American thing? Inquiring minds want to know. Thanks for sharing the treasured pictures with us.

    1. Alina from Krakow, Poland

I don’t celebrate Halloween. We have the Feast of All Saints on 1.11. and we remember our dead and visit their graves. American culture is moving to Poland and Halloween is visible, but it’s not as crazy as with ace.

Alina, thanks so much for your pictures! Those girls are so pretty, and to see them enjoying playing with dolls and “make believe” is a joy. The dolls look so pleased to have a mama who sews and crochets! Little Rafi and Bambo are darling. We are all so glad you shared these pictures, and thank you, Jeanne.
Laura, thanks for sharing your pretty girls and furniture pics. Until we moved out here, I always bought older furniture because it was made to last. Unfortunately we furnished this house for summer rentals, so most of the stuff is modern…looks nice but the quality isn’t there. When we moved out here, I just couldn’t see bringing furniture to an already furnished house. I should have realized that all I had to do would be to put the modern stuff out in the front yard and watch it disappear. So, I appreciate your lovely pieces.
Barbara, sorry about Skyy’s setback. Hope all goes well Monday.
    Linda, how that knee?
Joy, glad you are getting rain without the mudslides, at least for the moment. Hope that lasts.
Jeanne, comfort gray rocks, and the windows were a huge improvement. You and George could make a coffee table book of that house from the day you bought it until you complete the projects. Just so admirable.
Have a wonderful weekend, folks.I don’t have time to proof this…packing up a tailgate and heading to the opera with friends. Yippeeee! Sending hugs to all.

    1. Hi Sally, thank you for your sweet comments on my photos. I’m glad you enjoyed them. Yes, I’m sure the furniture would have disappeared. Once in a while someone sets a piece of free furniture out on the curb here. It is usually taken within the hour.
I hope you have a wonderful time at the opera. You’ll have to share which one.

Looks like Rafi wants to be part of the tea party! Such a sweet photo. And Bambo is a black beauty. Looks like an active one to me. 🙂 The girls are cuties and the dolly knits wonderful. Thanks so much for sharing your photos Alina, and also thanks to Jeanne for the fun treat.
Must be close to 9:30 A.M. in Carbondale. Hope the painting has begun, but from yesterday’s photos, there might need to be more furniture moving involved to get to every wall. At least the ceiling is not being painted this time which should make it easier I think. 🙂 Hope the day brings lots of gray in the sitting room.

  6. Alina, you have two adorable little granddaughters! How sweet that Zuzia is entertaining her dollies. So cute. Maja will be helping her sister soon enough. Loved the picture of Rafi and Bambo – looks like they are friends. Rafi looks so sweet in the face and is Bambo a kitten?
You are a talented knitter. I’ve tried, but like sewing I’m hopeless. To make shawls and sweaters and outfits for dolls would be wonderful. Love Addy’s shawl. What a perfect accessory.
Thank you for sharing your pictures! They were very enjoyable.
Jeanne- hope your painting goes well and that you are nearing the end of that part of the renovation!

    Everyone, enjoy your weekend!

Alina, thanks for sharing the wonderful pictures of your granddaughters. They are both adorable. The clothes you made for your dolls are lovely. I wish I could see the green sweater better. It’s looks beautiful. Your dog Rafi does look like a stuffed animal. What a cutie. And Bamboo is a real black beauty. We had a black cat once. We made sure he was indoors on Halloween. It was suggested on the news to do that. We never had trouble here but some places did. Better safe than sorry when it comes to our furry friends. If you were closer I would have you teach me to knit. Pixie Faire is having a lot of wonderful knit patterns these days but most are way too complicated for a newbie. I do a lot of sewing and crocheting, but knitting has not yet risen to the top of my “Bucket List”. I have a friend who sews, knits, crochets, and spins but she moved away. We had a crafting group at our church when she was there and she brought her spinning wheel and we all got a chance to try our hand at it. It sure looks easier than it is.

Thanks for all the well wishes for my grandson Skyy. It will be a week tomorrow that he crash landed on the pile of rocks. It’s been a tough week for him but hopefully made an impression on him and he’ll be more careful in the future. They say forewarned is forearmed but I don’t think that applies to children because he was warned on numerous occasions in different places to stay off rocks or he could be seriously hurt. I told him sometimes it seems like adults are taking all the fun out of life, but he has to realize we’ve seen a lot of things over the years and that’s why we make the decisions we do. We are actually trying to protect him not mess with his fun. I think he gets it better now.

Jeanne, I do believe you and George are the most courageous people I know. You bought a fixer upper without much experience in doing the things necessary to fix it up. What a learning experience it has been for you. I’m actually a little jealous. I see all these young couples doing do-it-yourself without experience and they have so much fun learning together. My daughter and her husband bought an “abused” house several years ago and had fun making it their own. Between the people at places like Home Depot and Lowe’s and the internet, they did a great job. David has always been involved in construction, even as a kid in rural Kansas, and has done it all, including home construction. So it’s more like boss and laborer when we do anything together and butting heads isn’t uncommon. These days the boys are the ones he orders around and I stay out of it. But in truth they are learning so much from him that they are looking more like a team everyday. I’d rather sew.

Happy birthday to Kristoffer. Only 34. That’s how old I was when i had my daughter. Sean was 18 months later. Andrea was 40 in April and Sean just turned 39 on 10/14. Next year at this time I will have no children under 40. Hard to imagine so much passage of time.

    1. Alina from Krakow, Poland

Thank you for all the kind words. The green sweater is made with a simple pattern, only right or left stitches. I’ll send you an exact photo, you’ll see it.

Dear Barbara, I hope your grandson is doing better. I am sure deep inside that he knows that the grown-ups are trying to protect him.

  8. Hi Anne,
No worries about the name mix-up the other day. I would let someone else claim the dolls and maybe even the furniture, but I would never let anyone else claim my kitty furbabies.
Hope you’ll share a photo of your Sara when you get her out of her cardboard house.

    Hi Alina,
Your granddaughters, Zuzia and Maja, are just adorable and i bet they have fun with their King Charles Spaniel. I believe I have the breed correct?
Love the photo of Zuzia baking. Her dollies are anticipating the treat. All your knitted and sewn outfits are beautiful. Addy looks very warm and I like the pattern you used on Kira’s (I think that’s Kira) jumper. Rafi is adorable and Bambo is precious. I love black kitties as well.

    1. I hope Krisoffer had a wonderful birthday, Jeanne. Somehow I missed that. So you have two October babies?

    2. Alina from Krakow, Poland

I like it when Zuzia plays like that. She will probably grow up to be a doll lover because she likes to take care of them very much. My dog is Cavalier King Charls Spaniel blenheim. A very nice breed, very gentle and tied to children, rare in Poland, but probably popular in the USA. This is my second such a dog, the previous Borys lived 12 years but is no longer here. Rafi is 5 years old.

      1. Barbara in SE Texas

That’s why Rafi looked so familiar. My son has a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Shelby.

  9. Dorothy in PA and the World

Dear Jeanne, thank you for sharing Alina’s photographs.

Alina’s girls are adorable. I love how children get so engrossed in their play that as we watch them they appear as if they are actually cooking or sewing or whatever it appears that they are doing. In their play they believe they are doing these things and that makes us believe it too.
