Wait till you see what the Boneka girls are up to today!

I didn’t get to your comments but had a good reason… I was sewing and wanted to get something finished. I WILL read your comments when I get in bed tonight… I always like to go to sleep thinking about what you commented on.

Also a BIG thank you to the winner of the Regency dress that Elizabeth modeled!!! If you’re reading this, YOU MADE MY NIGHT… and we even did a little happy dolly dance! :o)

Now to what I was up to today…

My Boneka girls, Holly and Noel didn’t want to share a single dress between them, so Noel helped me pick out the biggest scraps and even found a coordinating piece of fabric that was the exact same color family and we made a SECOND DRESS. Now Noel has one just for her…or they could swap them, as both dresses and pantalettes fit both girls.

I am finished with the dresses and pantalettes, but not totally finished with how they will look on Ebay… we need accessories ladies and hair doodads… I’ll work on the finishing touches hopefully Tuesday…

Now to some pictures…. the bodice and pantalettes are different on the second dress.

Noel and Holly both wanted to try on the pantalettes…

Here is Noel in “her” dress…

Then the girls wanted to switch dresses again…

When I DO list them, I believe I will put the all one print dress and pantalettes on Holly as she is the slighter taller doll…by 1/2″.

Then I will put Noel in the slightly shorter dress with the coordinating bodice and pantalettes…

Hope you like seeing double today! Double the cuteness that is!

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

Oh, those outfits turned out just darling! “Double Cuteness” would be the perfect name for them, if you are selling them together.

  2. Oh, I thought I would be really late to comment today, but I am where I usually am…..right after Charlotte!

Those sister dresses are just darling, Jeanne! One of my sisters was 17 months younger than I was and my mother usually made us dresses alike, but with different patterns or just a little something to make them a bit different from each other, like you did here! What more can I say, they are just adorable!

I wanted to follow the auction last evening, but was in the dark, literally! We had a terrific storm and the power went out around 6 in the evening and didn’t come back on until 5 this morning! I was so worried that you were in the dark too, but I guess you weren’t. That was an amazing auction, and you certainly deserved it!

    1. Were you a victim of the Derecho I’ve been hearing about? I never heard of one of those but it sounds really scary.

      1. I think it might have been, but it was way worse in
Chicago. It was bad enough here! We had winds here from 50 to 70 miles per hour!

  3. Too too cute! I actually like the second one best. That’s why we have fabric stashes, ‘cuz you never know. Lol. We kept telling you we loved the regency outfit. It looks so nice on different dolls. The spencer is the perfect completion piece, and the back peplum is especially attractive, not to mention the necklace and bonnet. I think all the “sofa girls” did the dolly dance. Very well done! I love having my morning coffee on the “sofa.” Thank you for starting good days.

  4. Congrats on the auction. The Regency was a lovely outfit.
A twofer. The little Boneka girls are adorable in their blink of pink outfits. I’d still like to see little tiny white crop tops with the pants. 🙂
I know I said I wouldn’t mention “the tent” until it was done, but I’m so excited as it is getting close. Hoping to get the front flaps sewn and on today. They are cut to size which takes the most time in tent tailoring. 🙂 When that’s done, I’ll need to hem the tent and get some photos. 🙂

    1. Can’t wait to see your tent, Joy. I’m sure your girls can hardly wait to go camping and stargazing.

  5. “Tent tailoring” and “hem the tent” — I love it. Now I’m expecting a gray flannel tent or a charmingly flowered one.

I thought I’d bid on Regency Romance just for fun, but when the bidding started at last, it whizzed by so fast that I didn’t have time to press the button before I was outbid. The winner was, I think, the person who bid on day 1 and then waited patiently for someone to try to outbid her. Congratulations to the winner. I’m hoping for a Christmas version, so maybe the other bidder will have a second chance.

  6. Twins! How cute. Both outfits are precious. But it sure would be hard to decide which to like best.

This reminds me of a funny story. I have a friend who has twin girls. They are grown now but when they were small she would dress them sometimes in the same dress but different colors. They were purposely in different classrooms in school. One day at lunch they switched dresses and spent the afternoon in each others classroom. When their mother came to pick them up she was talking to one of the teachers when her girls came up to them. The mother looked at the teacher and asked why they had switched dresses. The teacher was flabbergasted. Their mother could tell them apart instantaneously but said she dressed them in different colors so that far away she’d have instant recognition. Close up or far away, none of us could tell them apart, obviously including their teachers.

Congratulations on the success of your auction for Regency Romance! I checked in after it was over and saw the final bid and nearly fell over. It’s always gratifying when our creative endeavors are so appreciated. I agree with Marilyn. You need to do a Christmas version.

  7. I keep forgetting to mention my Boneka Charlotte has those sandals in white. They are cute and come in several colors. Charlotte has more colors on her wishlist. She’s being extra good so I’ll let her buy them.

  8. Wow, I think I like the second dress even more than the first! Too bad, or maybe not, that I don’t have any of these girls. 🙂

  9. Funny story, Barbara. There were twins in grade school with me, a year younger. their names were Anne and Diane. We had a hard time telling them apart as well.
Congratulations on Elizabeth’s Regency dress. I’m always sad if the original bidder gets outbid. This lady was determined for that not to happen. I wanted to watch as well, but was interrupted 20 minutes before the end. ;-(
What sweet dresses Noel and Holly have on. Love Charlotte’s choice, “Double Cuteness”!!
You’re on a roll in your new sewing roo… three dresses in short order.

  10. Congratulations! Great Auction. It’s got to be the jacket…it is spectacular! Well.. the whole thing is spectacular!
Love the coordinating dress you just made for Noel and Holly. That is such a yummy color and to have another fabric that perfect means it pays to be a hoarder :0)
Good luck with them too…will watch for your cute accessories!

  11. Your girls look so lovely in their new dresses.
Oh dear it is back. We have four new cases of covid in Auckland not in managed isolation. All in the same family but unfortunately they live in one suburb, the husband works in another suburb, the wife in the central city and the child goes to school in another suburb and he has had symptoms for 5 days before he got tested. Our biggest city is now in level 3 which means no gatherings of more than ten, school is opened only for children of essential workers only and only supermarkets and pharmacies are open. No one is allowed to leave Auckland and there will be road blocks outside the city. This is for three days until they can find out where they got it from. The rest of the country are back to level 3. I think church might be off on Sunday. It is only 38 days to our general election so not sure how that will be affected, certainly no campaigning for a while.
Congratulations on selling your Regency Romance outfit. It was so lovely, I didn’t see the end unfortunately but I gather it did well

    1. Sounds like Covid will be under control soon. Always interesting to find how it was contracted. Sometimes, the answer remains a mystery.

  12. Dorothy in PA and the World

Dear Jeanne, I love the sister dresses. The girls look so sweet in them. The Bonekas are such adorable dolls.

  13. Well that was a surprise! How lucky that you could come up with enough fabric to make another dress. And it certainly is double the cuteness. They are both the sweetest dolls.

  14. Regency Romance was a big winner! I’ll add my voice to the,” make one for Christmas” chorus.

Those 2 little outfits are the cutest things! I feel like I write that a lot! 💖😊💕
