Ten Ping in blue… a beauty for you…

I’m sorry I missed all your comments yesterday…it’s 5 minutes after midnight and I just now saw there were 22. It seems a few of you must have had something to say about “how you’d spend your million dollars!” I’m going to go to bed and read them all on my phone.

Rebecca and I were up in the attic again today. We made some real progress up there but since the Goodwill and Thrift shop aren’t open, there are boxes and boxes of stuff and bags and bags of trash up there. Not a time for pictures…

So I decided who will get the next dress…Ten Ping…my tiny little 8″ beauty. She was laying on the dolly shelf, just in her panties, with her face covered up with a piece of fleece to keep her from getting her pretty face dusty. I heard a faint little voice saying, “please pick me…I’d love to model a new Easter dress for everyone!”
After what seemed like forever deciding on a fabric, we finally settled on this pretty aqua blue print. I want to make her a straw hat too.

She’s pretty excited I managed to get the bodice and skirt cut out, but you’ll be disappointed to see I didn’t get any sewing done. Maybe tomorrow…

Okay…bedtime for me and some interesting reading I hope!! Thanks everyone!!

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

  1. Hi Jeanne,
I’ve forgotten how pretty Ten Ping is with her new face up. It’s been a while since she was featured, I’m glad she spoke up. You’ve chosen such a pretty blue print and it’s the perfect scale too. And oh an easter bonnet! That will look very sweet on her, I can’t wait to see it all come together.

    1. I just noticed I didn’t sign off like I normally do : o
I hope all is well and everyone is staying safe
      Happy almost Friday!
      Hugs

Joy … I’m finding myself babysitting six days a week as my son in-laws mother is in doctor ordered home quarantine for two weeks. We normally split the week. I have Sunday off though πŸ™‚

  2. I’d forgotten the lovely looks of your Ten Ping. I think I too need a new face up about now. πŸ™‚
I’m sure the attic will shine and become a fantastic space for storing more stuff. πŸ™‚ If you reroof, can insulation be installed then? Or can it be blown in behind the drywall? Because it seems like a great space for a guest room, craft room, or game room. Just curious.
Finally decided what I would be making of recycling materials for my dollies. Glue, cardboard, and paint because it is to be make with what is on hand. I took a look at my online Joann’s order and discovered that I can’t even expect a status update until 6 working days have passed. What’s with that? With a place that big, one would think that orders should go out within a couple of days. But not. Last time I order from them.
How’s everyone doing? or what is everyone doing to pass the home time?

  3. It was a good move to have her face re done. The coloring is so much nicer. That print will be super with the straw hat. Fun, fun! Can’t wait to see it happen.
Be careful about making the attic room a guest room…it might be full all the timeπŸ€—πŸ€—πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ‘πŸ»

  4. First I want to say Thank You to Joy and Charlotte for the congratulations. Joy, there may be a delay because JoAnn’s might be trying to fill the orders for those who are sewing masks first.
The blue fabric you have chosen is very pretty and I love the idea of seeing another Easter bonnet.
Sounds like a great time to clean out the attic, Jeanne. I agree it would be a perfect room to enjoy, think Kit and her attic bedroom.
Someone shared this on Playthings yesterday
https://www.skiptomylou.org/crochet-basket-pattern/ I need to see if I have any bright colored yarn in my craft stuff. I’ve seen this lady’s blog before and like the crocheted items she shares. I much more accustomed to making filet crochet with crochet thread, but I can work with yarn.

    1. Thank you for the basket pattern. I just might be able to do this. That is if I can finish my current project first. Other person is already annoyed. πŸ™‚

  5. Ten Ping is so sweet and I can’t wait to see her new Easter dress and bonnet. I have a whole guest room full of stuff to go to Goodwill. I should have taken it months ago but just never got around to it and keep adding things. I was so glad when we got a Goodwill in Sealy. I never dreamed it would ever be closed for a long time. Positive side is I’ve quit stressing over getting it there.

As for how am I doing? Depends on the day. As for what I’ve been doing, well I’ve made a lot of dolly Easter dresses this year because I need an escape. I really should be doing what others are doing and going through my house and downsizing some things and reorganizing others. I’ve lived here nearly 30 years and things just accumulate in closets and cabinets over time. It might be more fun if I had someone to do it with, but I doubt I would find any takers.

It’s been a rough day so far. I woke up with a horrible headache. It finally dawned on me we have a front headed this way and I always have a headache with them. And my allergies are giving me trouble. I mowed the other day without a mask. I only have one left and have no idea when I can get others so I saved it for when I mow when it’s dry and dusty. I may think about looking into making some. But I have to tell you what was on our news the other night. There is an auction house here in Texas where someone bought a ton (and I mean thousands) of masks and they were going to give them to hospitals, etc. Problem is there is some glitch that won’t let the auction house release them to the buyer. I have no idea what’s with that and I haven’t seen anything further on it. There were also bottles of hand sanitizer, etc.

Do you have hat molds other than the one for Little Darlings? I was wondering what you will use for Ten Ping’s hat.

    1. So maybe that is where all of the masks/hand sanitizer have been hiding. πŸ™‚ Sounds like a very interesting story. I’d like to hear the follow up.
Glad that headache wasn’t the Corona. My allergies are just starting to kick in, and I’m not looking forward to it.
House is a mess here. My excuse is working on a project. I’ll send Jeanne a pic when it is done. Very amateurish, but I’m trying. πŸ™‚ We’ve been in our house 44 years. Can you imagine all of the stuff we have?

Dear Jeanne, Ten Ping is so sweet. I was signed up for a luncheon in May in which Yu Ping was the souvenir doll. It was been postponed and a new date has not been set. I am looking forward to having a Yu Ping. The Ruby Red Galleria Dolls are so pretty. I look forward to seeing Ten Ping’s ensemble.
