An outside look at Callie Rose…my new Paola Reina doll…

My day was busy with visiting my mom and errands so this will be a short post… but a pretty one!!

I took Callie Rose outside this evening and took these pictures of her. She is very photogenic and you can see her coloring much better outside. We might be doing Fall shoots and snow shoots with her during the cooler and colder weather. Isn’t she pretty now? I hope you think so…

(That isn’t a mark I made on her cheek…it’s a “long” freckle!

Once again, look at this sweet little profile… “MOM… I want a new dress!”

Here is a “before” shot…

and the “after.”

I would love to see about making one of my Little Darlings patterns and seeing just how close it is to fitting her. I hope it’s perfect on the first try. That would be wonderful. In the meantime, here’s one more… I think I went a little overboard, but she kept saying, “More, more!”

Thanks everyone,
Blessings, Jeanne

Dear Jeanne, you really did soften her face. She looks adorable.

Yes, I can hear her asking for a dress. I can’t wait to see what you design.

She is just beautiful, Jeanne!! What a difference…and definitely she does love natural lighting!! Maybe she will be an artist some day?! LOL

You know, freckles do come in different sizes and shapes….or it could be just a little mole (or “beauty mark”), like I have on My left cheek!

  3. Callie Rose is most lovely Jeanne….you did a great job of making her your own. And yes, she does seem to blossom in the out of doors. I too will be eager to see how the clothes you make look on her. She’s really a lovely doll. Thanks for sharing her with us.

    Blessings.

  4. Love the outdoor photos. Hope you get to a dress for Callie Rose soon. I’d like to see a comparison of her with a LD wearing the same dress. And also see their feet and shoes.
Almost done with the sort of similar to your people dress for someone here that I’ve been working on. Who will it fit?

  5. Callie Rose looks soo much more alive and real in the outdoor pictures, Jeanne! The before picture seems a bit flat and one dimensional, compared to her after pictures, where you redid her face. Since you are giving her an old fashioned name, I would like to see a doll her size wearing an old fashioned dress or outfit. I don’ see many period outfits for dolls that size.
There are times I would like to pose Betsy with Felicity or Cecile, but her wardrobe is basically modern. I think others would like to see their smaller dolls get period dresses.

A beautiful day here, no humidity!

  6. Callie Rose is definitely photogenic, especially outdoors. What is her Paola Reina name? She looks like Claudia or Dasha. I would love to see her dressed in one of the Luminaria patterns. The LD patterns are said to fit Paola Reina also. They are so lovely. I have them for several of my dolls but haven’t made one yet. They’re pretty detailed and I’ve been working on more modern stuff for back-to-school. But I’m definitely going to make one of them soon. Luminaria even has patterns for Meadow Dumplings.

Have one more b-t-s dress to complete and one to make and then I can take pictures. I really want to get the last dress made first, not only because Nahji insists on it but I want to see how my idea turns out. If there are only five dolls instead of six in the picture, you’ll know it didn’t turn out as I hoped. lol

Would love to see a picture of the dress Joy is working on.

  7. Today is my 38th Anniversary and my hubby just came home and announced we were going out of town for the day.
We are heading to Paducah, Kentucky. No telling what we might find!!
    See you tomorrow!!!
    Blessings, Jeanne

    1. Happy anniversary, Jeanne and George! Just a few more years, and you’ll be caught up to us (45 years)!

I’ve been to Padukah, and it’s Wonderful! Hope you have a chance to visit the quilt museum! They have a nice gift shop, too! 😉

  8. Well….HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! Another road trip…that George knows how to make you smile!
Callie Rose is the cutest thing. Her coloring does pop in the outside pictures. My little Asian sweetie is Lilli and she thinks Callie Rose is her new BFF 🤗
She was from a US seller? That would beat the 5 week wait for sure.
    Have a super fun day!

  9. Happy Anniversary! Your newest little girl is really cute. I agree that it would be fun to see a period dress on a doll other than a PC/AG. Hope you have a wonderful time.
