Who needs a Patriotic Slip for their doll? It’s a GIVEAWAY!!!

QUICK REMINDER: The sweet little set for Navi, “The Littlest Patriot,” ends this evening on Ebay. If you want to see it again, you can click on the picture at the right side bar or you can click HERE. Some little Twinkle will look sweet in this set. Will it be yours?

This will be a simple post today… Who needs a slip for their doll??? Well probably everyone…but I can’t make one for all of you, but I can have a drawing and pick a winner and they can pick the slip they want for their doll. I only had time to make slips for the American Girl doll, the Effner 11″ Little Darlings, tiny little 6″ Navi; a Twinkles, My Meadow Doll, and 11″ Bailey, a Dumpling; by My Meadow dolls. I had intended to get a slip made for 8″ Ten Ping and 10″ Patsy Tonner…but ran out of time. If you want you can mention them for the doll you’d like a slip for.

So here’s all you have to do… leave a comment below or send me an email through the “Contact Me” tab just under the header on my blog. Tell me your name and the doll you’d like to win the slip for. I’ll have a drawing for one person at midnight (Monday evening) Illinois Central Time zone. I’ll let you know who the winner is on Tuesday’s blog post. Then I’ll do my very best to get the rest of the slips listed in my Etsy shop.

Sound easy? Sound fun? I hope so…

So here are some pictures of the slips I did get made… a group picture of the girls in their Patriotic slips…

We’ll start with Navi first…

Next, here’s the American Girl doll slip… It’s nice because you can slide it up or down on your dolls body and make it the exact length you want.

This is Emmie modeling the slip for all the Little Darlings out there…

Last up is Bailey, showing off her pretty smile… She has a tiny little waist and a not so tiny derriere, kind of pear shaped, so the slip kind of rides up right to her joint…

All of the slips except for Navi’s have 2 layers of tulle which can be separated to make the slip even fuller than it is… just use your fingers and pull the layers apart…

Well, I wish you all could win a slip, but at least one person will be thrilled to be the winner… so will their doll! :o)

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

I need a Little Darling Patriotic slip as a 30 year Navy Vet. Love to show the beautiful Red White and Blue!

    1. HI Bobbi,
I would like to get your address if possible. Someone saw your name on the list for wanting a doll slip and someone wants to send you one.
If you could please get it to me, I’ll get your doll slip mailed out… :o) How fun is that?
Blessings, Jeanne (I Dream of Jeanne Marie)

I would love a slip for my My Meadow Bailey who has just arrived and so far has nothing to wear. Red white and blue works for the UK too.

I think you are going to have a lot of comments on this post, Jeanne! I see there are 4 already, and it’s only 1:40 a.m., PST!!

I’m sure one of my Little Darlings (maybe Mariko) would love to have a new slip–although they may all have to share it for now!! LOL They all have their fingers crossed!!

I played piano for church again today–at 5 p.m.. Sat. the pastor called and asked me to “choose 4 hymns”…..our regular pianist was still gone, and our organist had gotten sick! So, I went thru my notes from what I’d worked on before I played last Sunday (I had about 6 weeks notice on that one!), and chose from the ones I knew I could do fairly well, then emailed him. It went fairly well this morning, too, I’m happy to say. I guess I didn’t have much time to get nervous this time!! LOL

  4. How cute all the dolls look! I would love a little patriotic slip for my Betsy McCall. She has been hankering for one ever since Molly got hers! That would be the same size as a Little Darling slip. Maybe with a little “something” on top, it could be a cute ballerina or tap outfit

  5. How cute they all look in this sweet slip! While I am waiting for my two LDs from Magalie (I think I still have a few months) my naked Nellie says “say me pleeeease” so I have to say American Girl size!

  6. I love those slips with all the red, white and blue sparkles. So pretty. I have finally gotten into my doll room – the first since we’ve been home, and there was the elusive Swifter AMG redheaded doll – the first I’ve ever seen her other than through pictures!!
She is very cute. I had to work on her bangs – Trim them a bit but she’s so cute and has that lighter red hair I love. I can’t figure out who she is- she’s not Felicity. Anyway, she was happy to be held and to meet me!
I think she’d love one of those slips.

Hopefully this week I can work in the doll room. It needs a bit of re-organizing. I’ve neglected it for quite some time.
    Have a great day.

    1. Paula,
I’m SO thrilled that you got to meet your mystery girl… You should send me another picture of her so we can maybe try and figure out who she is…
      Blessings, Jeanne

Dear Jeanne, what a lovely way to celebrate World Doll Day! I put my name in for a Little Darling slip.

I am excited about our doll club luncheon coming up on Saturday. Our theme is “Friends Around The World.” I think that through the various doll clubs and doll blogs, the doll community has achieved that. And you are part of helping us foster connections with doll lovers everywhere.

I am reminded of the Japanese Friendship Doll activity from the 1920s. I think it’s wonderful that dolls can unite people across cultures and communities.

    1. You would think in an area like Houston there would be a lot of dolly things going on but there are not. I checked some of the sites I found and they are either the other side of the moon from here or there has been no activity in awhile. The closest one to me meets monthly but is purely for Barbie enthusiasts. There is a Virtual Doll Convention coming up June 19 – 23 so I’m going to check in with that.

      1. Dear Barbara, hello. I would have thought that UFDC (United Federation of Doll Clubs) would have a chapter in Houston. I am a member of a local chapter here in PA. I will check to see if there is one near you.

You could think about starting a “doll interest” group. Often times libraries will allow for meetings of clubs for free.

I did hear about the Virtual Doll Convention. I don’t have Facebook so I cannot “attend.” I would love to hear about it though.

    2. HI Dorothy,
I love thinking that I bring people together through their dolls! Makes me smile!!!
      Blessings, Jeanne

    3. I have a Japanese doll that was made as a scroll with the head at the top. Maybe that is a Japanese Friendship doll. It was signed by friends as we were leaving Japan after a three-year assignment. I’ll send a picture of it to Jeanne and she may send it on to you to see if that’s what I have.

  8. Sew sweet of you to have a slip drawing! How you have found time to make them I don’t know.
We’re still on high fire alert with the Sand Fire a couple of counties over blowing smoke this way. In the 90’s yesterday and supposed to be 101 today. 🙁

  9. Hi there! Wow, how pretty all those slips are! 😍 I could definitely use a slip for my American girl dolls, especially Felicity with her large colonial dresses.
    Thank you! 🙂

  10. Your slips are always cute but the red white and blue is super cute. My LittleDarlings do need a slip but one gets to go to Convention this year and she would wear it there!

  11. 4th of July always makes me feel so blessed. My Kit would love a slip for her new dress.

  12. I’m so excited!!!! I wasn’t on the blog the last time you gave a slip away. And a patriotic slip! What’s not to like about that. I don’t need a slip for my 18″ MA since under your tutelage I made her one. She wore hers under her sister dress in the pictures I sent. The dress was actually too long without it. It was difficult to decide which doll I should choose for the drawing for the slip, but I think I’ll go with my Little Darling(s).

I have a request. The slip I made for my 18″ doll was like the one on the 18″ doll in the picture – whose name escapes me. I would like to learn how to do one like the others are wearing where it flares out from the hips rather than the waist. I have a dropped waist dress pattern that would benefit from a slip like this. Thanks.

  13. I was drooling over your slips in the other post. I love anything patriotic and this would be perfect as I was just pondering making a dress for one of my dolls. A wonderful way to celebrate World Doll Day. My Blythe would love one but she is so small compared to the other you listed but I think anyone of my AG girls would love one. Thank you.

  14. I’m with Joy — I don’t know how you found the time to make all these slips, but how nice for us that you did. I’d like an AG sized slip. How nice to see Nellie modeling it. It would be fun to see a new dress for Samantha too.

  15. Merry Rutkowsi

Navi loves the little slip made for her. She thinks it would be great to win because then it will belong to her and not to her siblings Ella and Giggi, hopefully coming in August. “First come, first served” she says. Kind of a selfish attitude – do you think I might have an issue with her being ‘king of the hill’ for too long?

    1. HI Merry,
It could be… you better watch out with her!!! :o)
      Thanks so much,
      Blessings, Jeanne

    1. What sweet little slips! I would like to win one for one of my Little Darling dolls. It is hot, hot, hot in my corner of the world. I guess I’ll have to stay inside and sew!!

  16. I need one for a dumpling size girl, please? I actually need two, lol, but they’ll have to share. 🙂

  17. My Little Darling named Riya would not be happy if I didn’t join in the drawing for a sparkly slip for her. Maybe she’d get her own Fourth of July dress if she wins a slip and inspires me to make one for her.

  18. Did we break the record for number of comments in one post? We ALL want one of your darling patriotic petticoats! Oh yes indeed! ♥️😍💙 I would love one for my American Girls!
I’m out in my gazebo enjoying the beautiful day. My morning didn’t start well and then I almost let it affect my afternoon. But out here in my happy place I am 💯% better!
    Good luck to everyone!

  19. I, also, don’t know where you found the time to make all those slips. They are all lovely. I agree it is nice to see Nellie modeling the AG one as Victorians were very patriotic, so a sparkly tulle slip if it had been available would have caught their eye as it’s catching my Samantha’s. I agree with Marilyn that it would be fun to see Samantha up for a patriotic dress depending where she falls on your list.
Yesterday was Pentecost and church was beautiful with red geranium all over the altar and chancel. The congregation wears red and I also wore my Holy Spirit dove necklace that my grandparents gave me for my confirmation. A special memory.

Jeanne Love your slips. Would love one for my AG dolls. Very cute!!!! Thank you for the wonderful giveaway. Carole

  21. I love love love your patriotic slips!!! Jeanne, you had a great idea when you created these beauties!!! Thanks so much for the opportunity to win one of them. – Claudia

    1. HI Claudia,
You forgot to mention which doll you would like a slip for…
      Blessings, Jeanne
