Dolls in those Giveaway slips… and a new doll for sale…

Remember that Giveaway I had last week? Well, some of the winners sent me pictures of their dolls in the slips and I thought I’d share them… they are all so adorable!

Tiny little Romey, a Twinkles doll by My Meadow, and owned by Joy, is the tiniest of all the models today. Romey is only 6″ tall and looks like she’s really enjoying her new pink slip. Just to put her size in perspective, the waistband on her slip slipped over 2 of my fingers… it’s tiny!

Shara was another winner who sent me a picture of her doll in the slip she wanted for her Saffi doll. Saffi is an 18″ My Meadow doll and she looks like she’s enjoying her slip as well. Shara told me Saffi was her little Diva so I had to add some sparkle to her slip. (I couldn’t get Saffi’s picture to open any bigger… This was her slip.)

I received a very nice thank you from Sandra about the white tulle slip I made for her AG doll. She was thrilled that my hubby, George, pulled her name out of the entries. Her father shared the same name as my hubby and she even said red roses were her favorite! This was the slip she received…

And the last slip went to Leigh’s Elizabeth doll. She said they both were “over the moon” with the slip and Elizabeth was twirling around in it like a ballerina.

I had to laugh at something she told me. Leigh wanted to find a dress to put over the slip, but she didn’t have anything except a short dress she was working on for a little girl. So she slipped it on and showed her hubby. I laughed when she told me he said, “Is it supposed to be hanging down and showing like that?” :o)

Speaking of slips… I have another one to show you…on a doll that I’m letting go.. It’s Willa…a Wellie Wishers American Girl doll.

WILLA HAS BEEN SOLD…but enjoy her pictures!

I just adore the looks of Willa but she doesn’t get much attention from me so I’m going to sell her. I sold her outfit when I bought her, so I made a slip for her to travel in on her way to her new home. We had a really nice photo shoot so I’ll share those pictures here. I’m also debating about just listing my dolls on here since I’m setting the prices on some of them. I already have a price written down of what I’d like for her, so if anyone is interested, give me your best price and I’ll see if you hit the mark. That way you can get her right away.. If I don’t have any interest in her by 5:00 Central Time, I’ll go ahead and list her on Ebay for Wednesday evening.

Isn’t she just the cutest thing?

I took her pig tails down, but if someone wanted them put back up, I could do that.

I have her box and it’s in gift giving condition…just as she is…

Well, that’s it for today… who knows who might be up tomorrow…

See you soon,
Blessings, Jeanne

Loved seeing everyone’s pictures of dollies in slips tonight! Such fun. Thanks everyone for sharing!

Willa looks so pretty in her lavender and white slip. Again, it looks like a ballerina’s dress! Whoever gets her will really enjoy that, I think, and may even get/make some ballet slippers to go with it!

  2. Oh those dollies look, adorable in their slips! They certainly are winners in more ways than one! Love the comment made by Leigh’s husband! I guess I would have said the same thing!!

Good luck with selling Willa, she certainly is cute and deserves a good home! Y the way, I love the top you have on her. Is it separate from the slip part? Maybe you could show us how to make one. It looks like even I might be able to do that!?

    1. Hi Linda
Yes, my husband certainly was right on that one which was Really comical as sometimes I ask him if he dressed himself in the dark! (Ha!)

  3. Hi Jeanne
Thanks again for the beautiful slip. Elizabeth is still wearing it and every time I pass my sewing room she reminds me she REALLY does need a dress! I’m afraid my sewing room has seen less action than yours and unfortunately I don’t think that will change real soon.

Willa is such a sweet doll and her slip with the lavender top sets off her complexion. I know she will be going to a loving home.

All the girls looks so wonderful and happy in their new slips. Thank you Jeanne for your generosity.

  4. Why not save the Ebay fees if people here would be more than happy to buy direct. Willa looks beautiful in her new slip. I happen to know a redhead whose great-grandmother was named Willa. Her mother is good with hair too. This definitely gives me something to consider. Anna’s a bit young, but her grandmother has the ultimate luxury — storage space.

Here it is, after 7 and not yet full daylight. Maybe we are having a cloudy day, but fall’s on the way. Is it finally cooling off there too?

  5. My little Romy was trying to do a ballet pose. I think she needs some lessons though. Thought she was going to fall off the deck railing. She loves the slip. Thank you again Jeanne.
What a perfect traveling outfit for Willa. I think it would be great to offer the dolls you are selling here before ebay. You may have buyers who need a gift for someone or who want to add to their own collections. And putting a few of those slip/ballerina outfits in your etsy store would be nice too. You know it all of that spare time you enjoy. 🙂
    Painting this week? Just curious.

    1. Bird Story
I forgot to mention, that yesterday afternoon while other person was hauling out the trash, I heard him say come and see this. I opened the door and there was a little fledgling sitting on his shoulder. Pretty funny. The little bird seemed to be quite attached as it kept following him around. He showed it the water bowl and it actually jumped in. It could fly, but not very well as it was so young. I thought it may have fallen from a bush/tree so looked around but couldn’t spot a nest. It was pecking at insects on the front lawn so I brought it a bowl of seed which it quickly began eating. We weren’t quite sure what to do. Call the Bird Rescue Center? Put it in a box for the night? It was late afternoon. Because about that time, neighbors cat appeared. We know she was watching birdy and was only about 10 feet away. So, I brought Charlotte the cat inside and put her out onto the back deck for the bird’s safety. Other person had already tried ringing the other neighbors door bell but no answer. She is quite the bird person. I went over and tried again and this time, waved at the security camera hoping to catch her attention. As we were still trying to figure out what to do, she came over and saw the plight. Turns out it was one of her release birds who was pretty attached to humans. She decided to put it back in the cage for the night and try releasing another day. She caught it pretty easily. She works for the Bird Rescue Center as a volunteer and releases birds that are grown up enough after rescue. Turns out the darn thing was a Cow bird. You know, the ones that lay eggs in another bird’s nest. So, all that concern for a bird that is not a friend of other birds. While it was on the front lawn, three humming birds and a titmouse were chattering and dive bombing it. No wonder. And that Blue jay that fell down the chimney the other day was one of her releases too. Crazy bird shows up everyday now and sits on the deck railing squawking for food when ever it spots me inside. Guess I’m a bird mommy as well as a dolly mommy.

  6. I agree with Joy about the slip/ballerina outfit. It’s a fine ballerina outfit — much too pretty to cover up. There’s a woman in a nearly town that makes WW shoes and sells them on Etsy. If she doesn’t have lavender shoes, I’ll bet she’ll make some.
I thought Romy made a beautiful ballerina, Joy. And she looks so confident.

I just sent Jeanne a PayPal for Willa, who will wait in the nicest storage/work/exercise room I know of (Anna’s grandmother’s, not mine) until Anna is old enough to take care of her. We do want Willa to have the long and happy life she deserves.

  7. Thank you for posting the photos of everyone’s dolls modeling their new slips! My little Diva doesn’t want to take her pretty one off as she says one of the other girls will take it:)! She’s got a point as I can see a few “green eyes!” Lol

Offering your dolls here first gives us a chance and avoiding Ebay fees always helps! I bought Willa when the Wellie Wishers were first introduced.. she was my favorite, and Im saving her for my great grandie to have a few more birthdays then her little fingers can dress her. ( she has Bitty Baby right now and loves her)

  8. Dear Jeanne, I love looking at doll photos. Thanks for sharing.
If you are selling any Effner dolls, you may want to also list them on ning, as many folks there are on waiting lists and would be happy to snatch up a Little Darling or Boneka.
I am glad that Willa has found a new home.

  9. Enjoyed the pictures of the different dollies in their slips. There’s something so adorable about Romey’s little happy face. She looks cute doing her ballet!
Leigh O. ‘s story about her husband is so funny. Sometimes our men just don’t get it.
I love the bird story Joy told us about. I always watch out for our birds too- I don’t care what type they are, as long as they’re living their bird life safely.
Glad Willa found a good home. My dolls probably think I’ve abandoned them, but I’ve just been too busy and too tired to attend to them.
