What’s pink and furry and goes on your hands?

Hi everyone,
You’ll find out the answer in just a minute…

I had a pretty nice day today… still awfully quiet in the house and we aren’t used to that.

I worked in my sewing room and got LOTS finished…

First of all, I picked a new model… Joy mentioned something about having braids… and I decided to try Chrissa. Her complexion, her darker hair, and her pretty blue eyes made Joy’s suggestion a reality! The pink jacket looks better against her skin tone too. Kate’s hair was a bit to short to braid, and it was all covered up with a hat… so that was an easy decision…

I finished the cream colored tee and got the snaps sewn down the back…

I tried the coat over the tee and it works… Chrissa is actually thinner than my Kate was, so it fits better.

The front toggle closures even close up easily.

I was debating about a headband/ear muffs for her head, but decided on this 4 section hat… It easily fits over most any hairstyle your doll might have. I covered a button and made a little tuft of the sherpa for the top of the hat…

Isn’t Chrissa sweet in this?

She was much better suited for this color than Kate… (Sorry Kate)

Let’s see…what else could I make to go with this?

You guessed it! Mittens. I had this CuddleSkin fabric which had “embossed” stars all over it. The fabric was a bit lighter pink than the suede jacket, but it looked nicer than anything else I had in my stash. I searched in every drawer in my sewing room.

They were the perfect accessory to go with this outfit…

I will see what I can do about getting this set listed on Ebay…

I know there has been lots of talk going on about the blonde Ruby Red Fashion Friend doll in the red dress. A lady bought her this morning… she didn’t care who she was… she just liked her. She has already been sold and will be sent out tomorrow. Suemae said she has looked and could NOT find the Alice in Wonderland outfit anywhere.

Also, there are 2 dolls left from Susette’s collection that I’ve shown yesterday and the day before… Elinda and Luca. Both are Ruby Red Fashion Friend dolls (14.5″ tall) and both can be bought for $150.00 each (Until Friday at 3:00) Suemae is going to try putting some of them on Ebay…so I won’t be showing them on here, unless she decides to come back and do it this way. She figured out Ebay and said all the researching she has done has been enjoyable. I told her it was enjoyable AND addicting! She could see why!

So here are the 2 dolls still available.

ELINDA: She is $150.00, including Shipping and paypal fees.

Here is a picture of Elinda from the internet, so you can see her outfit.

LUCA… he has the red shirt on… He will be $150.00 including shipping and Paypal fees. SOLD

Thanks everyone,
See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

You are so right, Jeanne–Chrissa is just gorgeous in this outfit! Pale pink is definitely Her color! I love the hat, and the mittens, too. I think you have another winner here!

Thanks to those of you who commented yesterday after I mentioned we had reached the 18-month mark of Ron’s death. It actually wasn’t too difficult, although Valentine’s Day was, a little bit. But today I feel like I’m “back to normal”.

The little purse is coming along–it will be finished before long. Good thing, too: Expo is in One Week!!!

Charlotte, I know the excitement of getting ready for a fun time like I used to do when I was getting ready for Modern Doll Convention. I am looking forward to your photos and telling up about it.

That whole outfit is just perfect, Jeanne! And I had no idea you had Chrissa! I remember you had Eden, who had similar coloring, but can’t remember what happened to her. The little hat is darling! Those mittens are too, and you have a very nice outfit to put up for sale!

I was on Facebook earlier, and it reminded me that today was Susette’s birthday. I really do miss her! I’m sure she is still looking down and reading the blog everyday!
I see that Charlotte also had an “anniversary” of sorts with Ron. It’s nice to have those reminder days to remember our loved ones.

I guess your house is feeling emptier now, but you did the right thing for Reuben.🥲❤️

Where is every one else today? We have our yard help finally out there blowing and piling tons of leaves that have been sitting there for ages because it rained very time they tried to come. I don’t think they be able to finish in one day. The Live Oaks are now adding to the “fun”.

Jeanne’s outfit just kept being cuter and cuter! And soon she will have a lot more of that kind of fabric! What fun we will have seeing what she makes next!
How is George doing, Jeanne? I hope he is getting much better?

We will be off to join the group of my class friends for our monthly lunch.
Hope you all have a lovely day.

    1. Thanks Sissy…
My hubby is getting well, just in time to have another surgery next week… This one is a biggie! I don’t like this roller coaster we are on.
It’s been rough for him without Reuben… they were SO close!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  5. how is it Thursday already? and the middle of February!?

I love this snuggly outfit, perfect for February and March weather with that chilly wind brrrr and super comfy with the fleece jacket with a nice collar! Well done Jeanne.
I love your Kate doll! She is sweet. I love her dark piggy tails! Really pretty
The mittens are a perfect fit! How cute!

Here it is dark and grey outside, I think it is gonna rain off and on.
That concrete snow is still around but with above freezing days for about 6 days now, a lot has melted. There is so much I should be doing… old house stuff, or go to crafting social for two hours (kind of boring and too much sitting) or SEW. …. or clean.
My one and only sister came over yesterday afternoon around 2:00 to do some “trust stuff” and move funds with Vanguard blah blah, so boring, but we had to sign some stuff. She is very hyper and a bit difficult to be around. She came over and exclaimed that we have too much stuff in our house. Why are we keeping this, or “hanging on” to that, or put such and such away. 😔🤷🏼‍♀️

Anyway, I am always very nice to her, but also quite exhausted by the time she leaves. (I had an older sister, Dorothy, that would have been 75 tomorrow, but she died in 2000 at age 48 from a brain clot aneurysm from SMOKING, I miss her)
I wish everyone a happy sunny day, make your own sunshine if necessary!

Well “Hello,” Chrissa, with those big beautiful blue eyes. I do love the outfit on her. Braids too. And the gloves and adorable hat will be so appreciated, especially, here in northern CA, as we now have a winter storm warning. Very chilly and we had rain most of the night. What a perfect outfit for the weather here or anywhere in a cold zone.
So sad about the avalanche victims. One rescuer lost his wife and everyone was an integral part of the community. Many of the women had children on the Sugar Bowl junior ski team I heard. Just devastating to the alpine community.

Yesterday, we took a drive to the outlet stores in another town to pick up something for middle grands birthday. We haven’t been there in years. I know it was midweek, but it was very quiet. Hope business picks up.

I guess that it is time to think about the next holiday. I know that Linda’s girls are watching the Olympics and cheering on the USA. Here, I also heard some cheers from the doll room for several events. I can’t think of anything for St. Paddy’s Day, so it will probably be Easter which is also fast approaching.

I’m kind of surprised that Luca hasn’t been snatched up. He is a great doll and photos well. He can also become an adorable girl with a wig change. 🙂

Hope that George is recovering well.
    Keep warm everyone.

I guess it really hit home for me as our old cabin was very close to the Castle Peak location, and I’ve always wanted to visit Frog Lake. It was private until a few years ago when an environmental group purchased the land. We don’t snowmobile or cross country ski, just some skiing and snowshoeing, but in summers past, I about wore out our maps finding lakes way off the beaten path driving our trusty Jeep. Love the mountains and so sad for all of the families involved.

  7. I wonder who you still have, but I do remember this glammed up Chrissa. She is a much better choice. The perfect Olympic watching outfit. The mittens look fine. Mittens don’t always match your coat, sometimes they are a contrasting color.
