A few more pieces to go with the jacket and a few more dolls…

Hi everyone,
Thank you very much for all your kind words to us about Reuben. It’s been kind of a strange day, him not being here to walk or feed or give him a treat after being outside. We have gathered up the things that were out just for him and put them away. I still find myself looking over at the window to see if he’s watching the birds at the birdfeeder my hubby put there just for him.

Thank you Marilyn for the comments you wrote and that wonderful story of the two pups and their friendship and now just the one is around… It was written so well…

Thank you too, Laura, for your poem. I know you’ve sent that before, but today I read it a little slower…

I worked on a tee to be worn under the pink sherpa jacket, and I’m not finished yet, but here’s what I managed to get done so far…

I added some smaller beads like the toggles on the jacket, onto the side of the boots…

Then I made a pair of leggins out of a denim knit fabric. They easily slide up your dolls legs and have an enclosed folded over elastic waist.

Here is the tee I was working on… it’s a creamy beige ribbed knit fabric.

It does fit under the jacket… you just have to push the sleeves into the coat armhole with your fingers.

Do you think that will be okay?

Now, let’s get back to a few more dolls from Susette’s estate. Her daughter-in-law, Suemae, is selling them on the blog so Susette’s friends will have the first chance at owning them. She is doing all the work; I’m just going to be showing what dolls she has. She is a bit overwhelmed and decided to just sell a few at a time… These dolls are from the Ruby Red Fashion Friends collection.

I’ll show the ones that are still waiting to be adopted first and then a few new ones. The prices will be a little different now. Finding all the pieces that go with the dolls and learning their names and what doll goes with what box has become quite challenging and time consuming for Suemae. Sure, we all know a lot of these dolls by just looking at their face, but Suemae doesn’t. She has been trying to learn as she goes and has decided to raise the prices somewhat as many of them were costing her almost $25 in shipping and Paypal fees. They are still at a very good price if you are looking for certain dolls. I will put the prices beside the dolls.
I suggested Suemae lay out all the pieces for the dolls so they can be seen easily… and I think it will be much better.

You can email me which doll or dolls you would like, please include your correct name and address and email address and I will in turn email that information to Suemae. Make sure your address and email are exactly correct as that is what I will be sending to Suemae. I will check my spam and trash and email times to make sure the winner of the doll is the very first person to ask for it.

Okay, the first doll up for sale is SARA in a Red Christmas dress. She is $125.00, including shipping and paypal fees. PENDING

We thought since she was in an Alice box, she might have been redressed, but Susette never had an Alice doll… just somehow ended up with an Alice box.

Here are a couple of pictures of the Sara doll Susette had sent me one time… She is the third one from the bottom on the left…

Her head was cut off but there she is…

The next doll is KELLY…A Fan Edition DOLL…. She is $125.00, including shipping and paypal fees. PENDING

Here is how Kelly is dressed from a picture on the internet…

Next is ELINDA: She is $150.00, including Shipping and paypal fees.

Here is a picture of Elinda from the internet, so you can see her outfit.

Next up is JENNIFER and she is $150.00 including shipping and paypal fees. PENDING

Jennifer can also be seen on the stairway on the left side…

Here is a closeup picture of Jennifer I found on a sold doll on Ebay…

Last for today is LUCA… he has the red shirt on… He will be $150.00 including shipping and paypal fees.

Thanks everyone,
If you have any questions, just email me or post in the comments below.
Blessings, Jeanne

Oh, I love the beads/toggles on the sides of the boots!! Really a nice touch.

The t-shirt is very nice with the outfit, and picks up the color of the fleece. The denim-look leggings are great, too–a jeans look but narrower leg so it can be tucked into the boots.

Some more lovely dolls to look at! I’m glad you suggested that Suemae lay the accessories out beside the dolls so we can see what they come with. I have one or two in mind that I am watching for; we’ll see!

I think it was wise of Suemae to raise the prices somewhat; shipping these days has gotten so expensive!

Today (the 17th–I haven’t gone to bed yet, so it’s still the 17th!) it was 18 months since Ron died. I mentioned that to Mary, the grocery store clerk (who is my next-door neighbor), and she came over and gave me a hug. I didn’t do too badly, though; my voice caught a couple of times, but that was it.

I worked a little more that little purse. Stay tuned!

Jeanne, that outfit is turning out so well! I love the added toggles on the boots! This might not work, but do you think you could put a hard sole on the bottom? It looks like an outfit for going outside in the snow, but the boots are more like slippers with no sole on them. Just a thought. I know, dolls aren’t really going out in the snow, but, anyway……

Now to add a little wrench in this, but that first doll doesn’t look like Sara to me, and I have Sara! Sara has bangs, and this doll doesn’t. Also, if you look at the picture of all the dolls on the steps, you see that doll in the red dress, but then look down at the bottom of the steps. The first doll IS Sara in a knit skating outfit. I know she didn’t have two Sara’s, so the mystery doll is someone else! Would anyone who has these dolls recognize who she is? I wonder if she actually is Alice, but not in her Alice clothes. I know she wanted Alice, but am not sure she actually got her.

    1. Joy in northern CA

I agree with you. I think the doll is Alice, but wearing the clothes from the Christmas girl. The doll in the photo at the bottom of the stairs with bangs is most likely Sara. 🙂

    2. I’m sure that doll is Alice. Alice has shoulder length hair and it looks like it. I think Suemae should hang onto her until she finds her clothes. This doll dress is Holiday Stella’s or Bella’s. I just saw Bella had the same. There’s probably a Holiday Stella or Bella in the mix. That is unless Susette bought the Holiday outfit secondhand.

The outfit is looking so cute! I love it all, the pink on the jacket and the boots look so great with the “jeans” and t-shirt. I will try to get some fabrics to you very soon so you can make some more!!

Today is the first day of Lent and is Ash Wednesday. We will go down the street for our service and get our cross on our four heads done with ash. In the past if you go somewhere after having the cross on your head people will tell you have dirt on your head. Then I have to explain. Fortunately we are just going back home. I don’t fast during Lent, but I give up my daily ice cream. That is HARD.

I am so glad my email has finally come back. It took two guys, one at our place and then Peyton finally fixed it when we got home. This has been going on for 2 weeks!

I have put up some Kish dolls and clothes on face book, hope they sell.

Have to go, check on y’all later.

      1. Sissy Lingle on the GA coast

Rosemary, I thought you would be going to a service. Did you go to a pancake supper yesterday? Our church had one but we didn’t go. No night driving if we can help it.
I will be making cookies while you are eating ice cream, LOL!

        1. Barbara in SE Texas

The church David and I go to does not do a Shrove Tuesday pancake supper so we went to our old church in Bellville to theirs last evening. We have been gone from that church for several years now and were surprised to see that the people we once went to church with are gone too. It was strange not knowing anyone there.

      2. Theresa in Indiana

I’m giving up cookies, too, Rosemary. It won’t be easy, but it’s not supposed to be, right? 🙂

  4. The new ensemble is perfect! I love everything about it!
Yes, perfect t-shirt, I am glad it fits okay in the jacket!

The dollies. oh my, what treasures. I adore that photo with them all on the stairs. That is beautiful and must have been great fun putting that together.
Jeanne, healing takes a long time.
We have had cornish rex kitties since 1991. Caesar and Princess the first! Best kitties ever. They had a few toys. Then we had Canyon for a while. He was a grumpy kitty and we had to rehome him. After Caesar passed away suddenly at 17, what a shock. In the Spring, I am sure he was the one that led me Pierro the cutest cornish kitty boy ever. Then when Princess went to Heaven at 18 years, later we got Miles, red mackerel tabby cornish boy. – 😞🙁oh I do not want to talk about this anymore…. one day maybe.
We have Princess the second, a smokey grey cornish rex girl. She is 8. She has inherited a lot of toys. She is only 7 pounds and really cute.
I hope every one of you has a nice day. It looks like rain here. I might venture out to Costco and have a look around the area south of us now. I know the northern part of Loudoun County like the back of my hand, taking mom and dad for so many years on many adventures and doc appointments and just a lot of parks.
    Stay warm and cozy.

    1. My profile picture is Pierro. He was such a cutie.🥺😢

Thank you all of you for your congratulations on winning Anne’s custom fancy sweater. I am excited. I found a few fabric ideas upstairs in my vast mostly unorganized stash, and a simple dress pattern too.
I have three dolls. Two AG which belong to my estranged daughter. I can not give them to her because she will give them away. So they are mine for now.
One is a girl of today 1990s, and the other is Felicity. Then I have a “Glitter girl doll” (I keep accidentally calling her a Sparkle girl) that my oldest daughter bought me as a model for the clothes for Sarah and Laurens WW dolls. This doll, I can not remember her name. She is naked with her hair up in a scarf. I gave the clothes to Lauren, but she does not know I have the doll hahaha She sits around happily snuggled in polar fleece.
AGAIN, Thank you for the congratulations!
Jeanne, I hope you received my email

      1. Hi Rosemary,
I DID receive your email and your fuzzy pink sweater was mailed out yesterday…
        Blessings, Jeanne

      2. Congrats on winning the sweater, Rosemary. Felicity is a gorgeous doll with an absolutely exquisite collection. I got Samantha back from my daughter when she downsized, but Felicity was the first one I chose to buy for myself.

Just to clear things up, The Kelly shown is a Fan Edition and not a Siblie as far as I know. 🙂
“All Ruby Red Fashion Friends “Fan Edition” dolls are produced in the standard 14.5-inch (approx. 36cm) size. These collector-focused dolls feature 9 points of articulation and share the same core body mold as the standard Fashion Friends line, regardless of the specific character or limited edition release.”
Hope this helps. There is a newer doll also named Kelly, but they are not the same sculpt. The Kelly from Susette is a lovely doll.

    1. Hi Joy, that was very helpful for those who haven’t fallen into the Ruby mine yet.
Yes, two Kellys and two of other dolls with the same names. Ruby Red is starting to become name challenged like AG is.
I suggested the great chart Tatiana did on FB if Suemae can access it. I find it super helpful.

  6. Theresa in Indiana

This is a very cute outfit, Jeanne. I don’t have any AG dolls, so no temptation here, but if you make a jacket like that for the Little Darlings, I could be in trouble… 🙂

I wonder if you could send a photo of the mystery doll in the red dress to Ed at Happily Ever After Doll Shop to see if he could give you a positive ID on her. Or even contact RRFF directly. Just a thought.

    1. Joy in northern CA

If you check the doll archive on the Ruby Red site it is possible to see that the blond doll in the Christmas dress has bangs. Susette’s, has the hairstyle of the Alice doll, not the Christmas girls from several years back. And, she does come with Alice’s box, so I do believe that she is Alice, but wearing a Christmas dress from another doll. Just my take. 🙂 The Ruby Red office is on vacation right now for the Lunar New Year celebration.

      1. Theresa in Indiana

Yes, I agree, Joy. I finally found the RRFF archives, and it looks like the dress is from the 2020 Holiday Bella or Holiday Stella. But the doll is not Bella or Stella, but looks like Alice.

        1. Linda in St. Louis

I really do think that is Alice, and Suemae just hasn’t found her clothes yet. She has a LOT to go through!

  7. Joy in northern CA

The AG outfit is looking great. I do think that she would be sweet with braids or pigtails. 🙂 Maybe she will have a cute ski hat? I like the boot detail too.
Here, after the storm, we now have very cold weather with frost. There go all of the lovely buds we had earlier. And more rain later.
Unfortunately, there was a serious accident in the sierra yesterday. A huge avalanche came down on a group of cross country skiers at the top of Donner Pass. I understand that six were able to dig out with some seriously injured but I think the count is still nine missing. They had been camping for a few days in huts when they decided to head back out, down came the heavy snow. Fortunately, they had some communication and were able to call for help. They were told to hunkerdown, they had a tarp, until they could get someone there to help. A huge group gathered and skied and took snow cats to the area risking their lives as well. It took many hours to reach them in whiteout conditions, but after dark last night, they were able to reach the survivors and bring them to safety. Several were severely injured. There is not much hope for those still buried in deep snow. Such a tragedy.
Loved seeing all of the Lunar New Year festivities going on in San Francisco on tv yesterday. So fun to see all of those dragons/fire horses and colorful outfits even in the rain.
And on to St. Patrick’s Day. I wonder if Linda will have her girls celebrating? I hope so. 🙂
Keep warm everyone! It’s cold here.

    1. Linda in St. Louis

Celebrating what, Joy? At the moment, the modern girls are at the Olympics and have added a gold, silver, and bronze to the US medal count!🥇😊

    2. Barbara in SE Texas

So sorry to hear about the disaster in the Sierra’s. I hadn’t seen anything on the news about this. So horrible. I have seen on the weather that the eastern 2/3rds of the U.S. will be warming up but sorry not the far western part. Stay warm. Or you can visit Texas since it’s never been winter here this year. After a few days in the high 70s we will have a high of 62 on Sunday. Cool for us but not cold.

      1. Joy in northern CA

I understand that they have been able to recover all of those buried now except one. All deceased unfortunately. And I believe that it was an all women ski group. Very sad day.

  8. Dorothy in PA and the World

Dear Jeanne, the outfit is coming along nicely. It is just what a doll needs to finish out the cold weather and prepare for fun in Maypril!

  9. It’s nice to have a jacket and jeans for the American girls this time, its a nice change. The jacket and boots are really cute and I like the light colored shirt underneath the jacket. I’m sure Kit will not want to give it up once it’s done.

I am hoping that after I get my cast off this Friday, I can finally dress some of my American Girls. They’ve been patiently waiting in my She Shed.
This cast isn’t huge and I could actually dress them but the way this cast is wrapped around my hand and thumb, It’s very difficult to use my right hand. Soon, I can play with my dolls again!!

It said that those skiers may not be found for a long time. Such a sad situation. We have had torrents of rain and very high winds out here. However, we’re ok and have only had to dry out our patio chair covers – some were ripped and blown across our yard.

I’m hoping the East coast isn’t as bad as it looks coming in.

  10. Jeanne, I really think Susette did have the Alice doll. I was sure I saw her in a photo once. She came out very shortly after Anaelle (who was the first I bought). I loved Alice, but couldn’t get another doll right then. Maybe she was one gifted to Riya? Susette may have somehow kept the box if she got her later.
Yes, that is Sara in Holiday Stella’s red dress.
Anyway, if Suemae is on Facebook or can access Susette’s account the RRFF Official site has a wonderful chart that Tatiana made that shows every RRFF in their original outfit. She would just click on the name and the photo shows up. It’s located up under Files.

Cute jacket and boots on Kate.

    1. Joy in northern CA

I keep hoping that Suemae is able to find the Alice Outfit. It would be so nice if she could sell the set together. I would love that doll if she had the outfit. Thanks for posting the info.

  11. Barbara in SE Texas

What an adorable winter ensemble. The leggings turned out cute and I love the toggles on the boots.

I left a comment for Jeanne and Rosemary yesterday thinking it was today because I’m a day late again. Not sure why this time. Hope you go back and read them.

We have church tonight for Ash Wednesday. Wasn’t ready for it so close after Christmas but it’s here already. I’m getting to where I don’t like going to the evening services. David, Stephanie, Jason and I could have gone to the 10:30 a.m. one but David didn’t want to take the time off from work so this evening it is.

  12. Marilyn in Colorado

I agree that Susette had Alice, but I would like a photo of the original clothes to see if I remember them.

I agree with everyone who is liking Kit’s new outfit. All the jacket details are wonderful, I like the leggings fabric, the boots are cute and I agree about soles, if possible. I thought the tee was a bit dull until I saw the whole outfit together. I think this is the perfect color and fabric, and I really like the neckline detail. I’m liking my Kit dressed for this century, and yours is doing equally well in modern clothes. Kit is supposed to dislike pink, but I’ve always thought she wore it well.

I’m glad you liked Flash’s story. He was lucky in his owners, just as Reuben was.
