Hi everyone,
I was looking through my emails and accidentally missed a few… I’m trying to rectify my mistakes and make good on them.
Here are some pictures Linda sent me before Valentine’s Day and I am just now seeing them. A BIG OOPS from me… but I think we can all agree there are no limits on when or what holiday dolly dresses can be shown. So, I’m dubbing today, March 2nd, as “Belated Valentine’s Day!”
I know you’ll enjoy Linda’s pictures… so let’s get started…
If you click on any picture, it will enlarge.
Here is Felicity getting ready for her Valentine party.
Cecile and Kirsten are waiting for their guests too!
Mollyās set for a Valentine breakfast!
The modern girls, Scarlett, Ivy and Emmy getting ready for a party.
The 40ās girls, Susan, Ruthie and Molly in a Valentine ballet, along with Susette and Betsy!
Love to you,
Lindaš
All your girls look wonderful Linda! You always have the best set ups for your girls! Keep up the good work!
My hubby’s surgery went well and we are back home trying to get things back to normal. He has to take it easy, so the hens and I have become best friends! Thank you all your prayers and kind thoughts and even cards!
See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

Oh, Linda, what wonderful scenes you have created! In the first picture, I just love Felicity’s gown. So pretty!!
And Molly’s breakfast table is just wonderful. And I do love the ballet girls. Each in a beautiful but different costume. Thank you for sharing
Thank you, Jeanne for showing my dolls again! I feel that it gets to be too much of my dolls for the blog sometimes, but I love sharing with all of you, because we all like dolls, and not many of my friends really do. Iām sure you all know what I mean!
Thank you Charlotte, for your kind words! I thought it was time to dress the 40ās dolls in their ballet costumes, just for something different. Betsy is wearing her ānewācostume, which is a Robert Tonner. Sometimes when one doll gets a new outfit, it sets the scene for me to use it.
Actually, Felicityās gown is Elizabethās meet dress! I donāt have Elizabeth, so her clothes have helped Felicityās wardrobe!
I have tried with backgrounds, but they donāt work very well for me with more than a couple of dolls, because by the time you do set it all up, the dolls are really in the way of the background, and you canāt really see it. My dolls are a part of the rooms they are in, so having a background is too distracting and awkward looking. It is fine for one doll, like the winter scene I do have.
,
Thank you, Linda, when I hear that you are showing your dolls I know it will be beautiful. I love the tables ready for treats, the ballet is so sweet, the others as well. Your outfits are gorgeous!
I loved it all.
So happy to hear that you enjoy seeing my dolls, Sissy! If only you knew all the things they do! While the modern dolls have since gone to the Olympics, and are now going shopping in coats, the 40ās girls are having a winter concert! Soon it will be St. Patrickās Day and so we need to get ready for that!
I have so many things for the dolls, and American Girl is not making the things I like currently, so I am using the many things I already have, and am having a ball doing it!
Linda, I wish we were neighbors hahaa
This would be so fun.
Yes, it would, Rosemary!
Linda, your dolls are beautiful. I love that dress on Felicity, perfect! All of your girls look so happy, The table settings … just everything, the food!! all looks perfectly places, very nice scenes. Your little dolly Susette is so cute. I love her.
These scenes and the efforts of these adorable little sweeties really makes me happy.
Jeanne, I am very happy to hear that George is doing okay and comfortably recovering.
Hen duty sounds kind of fun. I hope it is not to chilly outside.
Saturday it was 60Āŗ here, but it felt cooler and it was sunny. perfect day to drag hubby out for a walk (he has been doing MATH and spreadsheets for my father’s trust almost 3 years now, because my sister and brother are cheapskates) So it was good for him to get out and walk…. really!
I sewed all week-end. – well, most of the week-end. I made some clothes for my naked Emelia girl. She has a dress, and a blouse and shorts to go with her fancy sweater.
She has no shoes, but I made her some slippers that are really snuggly.
I took some “just okay” photos with my iphone inside. I would have gone outside but it is a muddy mess. I will send them off to Jeanne today.
I started another quilt, very traditional chain type blocks. I completed the other quilt top but it is begging for a wider border. I might send photos for some opinions.
Love to all of you. I am gonna be puttering inside the house today, we have snow arriving around noon, but really I have plenty to do here.
Thank you so much Rosemary! It makes me feel good to hear that you liked my pictures and it makes it worthwhile to show them! Iāl. Tell Susette that you think she is adorable and she will be happy! She is currently practicing on her piano! Quite a talented little girl!š
Oh yes, send your pictures to Jeanne, so we can see what you have been doing! Itās always fun to share!
This is the second time in replying to Rosemary, so if I have two replies to her showing up, thatās why!
Thank you so much Rosemary! Iām happy that you enjoyed the pictures of my dolls, and it is people like you that I do it for! Little .Susette says āThank youā and is currently practicing her piano lessons! Quite a talented little doll!š
Yes, please send in your pictures of what you have been sewing for Emilia! Itās fun to share things like that!
I am really looking forward to seeing your outfits with the sweater, Rosemary! I have my sweater things ready to sew but haven’t had time to do it.
That is great that your husband can do all of the paperwork etc. for your parents trust. It is a lot of work for sure. Other person, here, handled everything when his father died and then, was able to transfer lots of things that hadn’t been done before his mother too died. It was a tremendous amount of time and work to accomplish. His brother did not help at all and other person did not take any pay for his work. He never received a thank you from his brother or any contribution towards his mother’s care which he also did. Thinking of you two.
Please tell your beloved other person that he is not alone as far as any hint of appreciation. We usually get from my little brother comments like “how long is this going to take?” “my financial advisor said….”
and “where is this painting?”
We just go along, say a prayer. Yes, I cared for my parents for 13 years daily, doctors the whole thing. It is okay.
I do know if I had not made the effort, my sis and brother would be just fine having two oldsters in their 90’s living on their own in Annapolis Maryland, hiring some sketchy people …. just no.
I am fine with it. The most incredible years of my life.
Good for you being such a caring daughter. š
I’ve never seen Elizabeth’s pink dress look so nice. I like the flowers in Kirsten’s hair better than the original wreath.A friend pointed out that the secret to Linda’s success, other than a carefully selected collection, is her iron and ironing board.
Congratulations to George on a successful surgery. My parents were always a bit paranoid about people knowing when we’d be gone. We need a code for you for when you’ll be gone. You could say that your aunt Sally was going to visit on Thursday and Friday, so no column or a preplanned one.. Then we could wish you a good visit.
As long as you are hen-sitting, it might be a nice time for some hen pictures.
Thank you, Marilyn! I like that dress on Felicity too, especially for Valentineās day! And yes, I do iron my doll clothes! Everything gets pressed, and if I see a dress that is impossible to press, I donāt get it! One of them that comes to mind is .Nellieās Meet dress. Especially now when I see it on EBay, it is usually a wrinkled mess, and I just know it wonāt be easy to iron, or even get halfway ironed, so I have passed on that dress.
I just thought that doing Kirstenās hair a bit differently would be cute for Valentineās Day. I do have her original flowered wreath for her birthday dress, but felt it looked too summery for now.
Thatās a great idea for Jeanne to let us know that maybe she wonāt be home. Nobody wants the world to know they are gone, especially in this day and age.
And yes Jeanne, how about some chicken pictures?š
Oh, what a glorious morning seeing Linda’s girls in their special Valentine gear. I loved it so much, and it made me forget the troubles in the world for awhile. Felicity in pink is perfection especially with the punch bowl all ready to serve her guests. Now, Cecile and Kirsten, in their crisp white pinafores are perfectly attired and have decorated their table so scrumptiously for their friends. I’m sure that the kits will behave and also help to entertain their guests. I’d love to move into Molly’s kitchen for that special Valentine breakfast. It’s making me very hungry, but not for the oatmeal and yogurt here. š And would you look at the modern girls and all of their special treats! All of the girls look so sweet in their lovely outfits, especially, Emmie. I think it is in that pretty dress. What a pleasure it was to be able to see the Valentine Ballet! Oh wow, all of their costumes make the special presentation delightful. I love how they are posed with the ribbon which brings them all together. And the pets in front can’t help but try to steal the show. I’m so happy that Linda, made these amazing scenes. Really makes me smile. Thank you Linda and Jeanne. And on to St. Paddy’s Day. Linda, hope that we’ll get some more pics soon. š Oh, and Easter is early this year too!
We had more sprinkles overnight, but rain is over so we’ll get in a walk. I went on a cleaning spree over the weekend and don’t wish to do that again for awhile. Also, have been trying to find patterns for to make those outfits for the Meadow twins. I’ve been lax, but have finally decided on a name for Ady’s brother. A big thanks to everyone for suggesting some great names. And I also managed early Saturday, to get in an order for a very sweet Ruby Red girl in a new Effner sculpt. Looking forward to her arrival sometime before Easter. š
So glad that George is recovering. I’d love to see some pics as Jeanne, does chicken duty. However do you get the eggs away from the hens? I would be scared silly to try. š
So, I only now read comments above and it looks like Linda has more photos? Olympics? Shopping? And? I would certainly like to see them too as time allows. š
YES!! Olympics, Shopping, and shopping Olympics!!
You have a very observant pair of eyes, Joy! You notice everything, I guess, because you too, put scenes together. And I donāt mind saying your scenes outshine mine by a lot! Iām more than glad to help you forget the news!
Both Cecile and Kirsten have birthday dresses on, Kirsten in her own, and Cecile in Samanthaās birthday dress. I wanted something different than just dolls in Valentine dresses, so decided the 40ās girls would do a Valentine Ballet. That is a new dress that Emmy has on, so of course, we had to have her modeling that! The big girls are modeling AGās Janie & Jack separates.
I love fixing up the two tables I have, and it is fun trying to figure out the different foods for the different timelines. I will be sending more pictures, but maybe sometime around Easter.
Thank you so much for the kind words, Joy!
Dear Jeanne, I am so glad the George’s surgery was a success! Prayers will continue. I know the hens are happy to see you! I hope you will have time for your latest dress, we are all looking forward to seeing it.
Our company left yesterday and we did enjoy them. We had a good time at the oyster roast, but the gnats were so bad outside, (they love oysters and humans too) that we got baskets of oysters to eat inside, along with the crab stew, chili, and deserts.
It was my time to make breakfast today so I made Peyton’s favorite Eggs Benedict, then made a pot of spaghetti sauce for tomorrow. We have to go to Savannah again today because Peyton’s computer has quit. I hope the guy can fix it so he doesn’t have to get a new one. We both have MAC computers, and they are not cheap!!
Y’all have a great day, lots of sun shine here and makes the cold weather seem not so cold.
So glad to hear you are home and that George is doing well and taking it easy. I hope you are too, other than caring for the chickens.
Not too much going on here – Iām starting to make appts. for all the Women Wellness care we have every year or a few years apart. I know those things need to be done but I donāt like having to do them.
Linda!!! Spectacular set ups with your girls. As well as dressing them all up for their Valentine parties or plans. Iām sure that is a long process but they all look so pretty and cared for by you. Your settings are great! So fun to look at. I always look forward to seeing your pictures.
Thank you, Jeanne and Linda for sharing these wonderful pictures.
Thank you,Paula! I do enjoy setting up my scenes, and am thankful that my little sisters donāt get into my stuff anymore!š¤£. That was a problem for me when I was small, and the oldest of four girls. So now I can take my time, fix up my dolls and I enjoy that. Thank you for liking what I do! I have a small little pillow that hangs on the door to my doll room, and it saysāGrandmothers are antique little girls!ā So true!
How sweet all your girls look, Linda. Of course, it’s never too late to see doll holiday photos. It’s a gray 30 degree day here so cheery photos are most welcome.
Felicity looks lovely in Elizabeth’s meet and ready for a party with Samantha’s treats.
Cecile and Kirsten are both so pretty. I love Samantha’s birthday dress and the wreath of Kirsten’s hair is lovely.
Molly’s table looks so festive with the waffles and beignets. Where did you get the toaster though? I don’t think that’s AG.
Your modern girls look so stylish.
The 40’s girls ballet is wonderful! Love that Ballet costume on Ruthie. I believe this was the first one offered still back in PC days. Yes, I looked it up – based on the Sugar Plum Fairy from the Nutcracker. A real ballet like the Swan Lake one I bought. Much prettier than the later Nutcracker ones, oh dear! Since my daughter was almost entirely about the Historicals I rarely looked at the AGOT. Which one does Molly have on, please?
Betsy is cute and I see Susette is getting quite the wardrobe. š
So glad to hear George’s surgery was successful, Jeanne. I hope he has a fast and easy recovery.
Laura, the ballet costume that Molly is wearing is the 1999 Coppelia Ballet Costume. Mine is the original with the snaps down the back, but AG made an Encore Coppelia costume last year or maybe the year before.
The toaster is actually a salt and pepper shaker! It has two slices of toast that fit in the slots, one for salt and one for pepper. Pretty useless as a real set though, since the bread is so small, but itās a cute and realistic set for Mollyās kitchen. I bought it off EBay since it looked like the toaster we had when I was a child. I still see it listed now and then.
I finally got Samantha’s birthday dress last year, but had to get the pinafore and dress separately. I thought maybe I could make the pinafore, but after looking for fabric and lace, it just made more sense to buy it. I made sure I got the very earliest ones made. I already had her socks and those shoes are some I already had. I preferred the two nosegays and ribbon in Cecileās hair instead of the rosebud wreath, so never got that, because Cecile wears the outfit. I donāt have Samantha.
Does your mother collect dolls too? She and I are the same age and I wonder if she remembers things from the ā40ās like I do.
Thank you so much for the compliments!
Oh,Laura, wait a minute, I gave you the wrong name of the dress that Molly was wearing! I gave you the name of the one Susan had on! Sorry! Molly is wearing the Ruby Ballet dress from 2007 or 2008.
I wish we had a “portal” like in Harry Potter that we could all meet and play for an hour each day (because… we have other stuff we must do)
I love Molly’s dress on Cecile. I think it looks perfect on her! Brilliant choice!
Linda it was lovely to see your girls and your lovely table set-ups.
Jeanne I am glad George’s surgery went well
It is 9.10am here and I have coffee at 10, we slept in this morning so short and sweet today
Thank you, Anne! Enjoy your coffee and sleeping in later! Always a nice treat!
Here is a quick late in the day shocking update from me
Last night I had a dream, and Elizabeth (my youngest estranged daughter with the 4 kids and controlling husband) was in this dream, we were having a happy time, laughing and sooo happy.
Then I woke up and cried a little. It was about 4AM….. I managed to get back to sleep.
I do not want to wake hubby, because then he is sad too.
Then this morning, I did not think much about that trauma as it is a usual dream (It has been almost 4 years). The sadness can be crippling but I try to let it go and pretty much think about others in similar situations and worse!
This afternoon…. Elizabeth called us. Hubbs and I had her on speaker phone for a whole hour. It was good. I am going to hold this moment in my heart and just be grateful.
I am taking photos now (very cloudy here, snowing actually) and I will try to get decent pictures of the quilt too. Then I will send off to Jeanne for her posting space as needed
Love, Rosemary
