Good morning on this first Saturday of 2026!!

Hi everyone,
I told you I would have a post today and share who was the winner of the pretty aqua sweater Anne knitted! So here it is… and the winner, drawn out of the bowl of entries, by my hubby, is MARILYN! Congratulations on winning and we hope you’ll find the perfect outfit to go with it!

Thanks everyone!
Please come back next Friday and we’ll have a drawing for sweater number two, from Anne!

I’ll see you all Monday!
Blessings, Jeanne

So happy for Marilyn! If there ever was a more deserving person, I’d like to know who! Marilyn loves to dress her dolls in sweaters, so this was perfect!

  2. Marilyn in Colorado

It’s true. I love doll sweaters. Also, I never win things, so this is a huge surprise. A sweater from New Zealand! My computer keeps showing me pictures of Milford Sound, which is lovely. Here in Colorado, we have mountains to match yours, but we’re a bit short of oceans.

Now let’s see if I can win all the other sweaters.

Dear Marilyn, congratulations! You have begun 2026 on a winning streak. I hope you have a nice weekend.

  3. Yippie Marilyn! I know you will find a lot of lovely combos with your new “Anne crafted” sweater. I am greatly looking forward to some fashion shows from all of the winners. This sweater is a cutie

Wonderful news! A big congrats to Marilyn. Can’t wait to see a pic of one of her girls wearing that lovely sweater. šŸ™‚

Dear Jeanne and my Sofa Sisters, Happy First Weekend of the second quarter of the 21st Century!

Oops! Now I have a problem. Most of you know that I have an odd disease that causes my hands to be numb and stiff — this is a great advance — when it started, my hands were swollen and about as useful as flippers. 3 or 4 years ago, I gave my smaller doll, which I can no longer dress, to my great niece, who loved her because she has a wardrobe. But when I told her mother the good news — that Jeanne would mail the sweater to their house — she told me that my niece had pretty much outgrown her dolls (though not her stuffed animals). This sweater deserves better. Do you think George would be willing to draw another name?

    1. Thank you Marilyn and so very sorry your hands are not cooperating with everyday things and dolly dressing! :o(

I had my hubby draw out another name… and the new WINNER IS CHARLOTTE!
I will get the sweater to you, Charlotte… probably on Monday. I am waiting on some company and George isn’t here, so I can’t get to the Post Office.
      Congratulations Charlotte!

WOW!!!! I am so surprised! I know that Freida will be delighted, too!! It will go beautifully with the dress I made her!

Thank you, Marilyn, and I am so sorry about your problems with your hands. That is a tough one, as we use our hands for so many things! I occasionally have a little trouble with my thumb, but am trying to be really careful not to stress it so it doesn’t get worse.

You guys do know, this is my birthday month (one of those big ones that ends in 0), and it is starting with a bang! And today my sister-in-law contacted me, and I’m invited down there for a lutefisk lunch (my brother’s suggestion–he knows I LOVE lutefisk!) the week of my birthday. Since it’s that big one, Paul thought it should be a separate celebration, not combined with Christmas as it often is.

Congratulations on winning the beautiful sweater, Charlotte!! Coming late to the blog I caught that Marilyn had passed on the sweater and a new owner was chosen. I didn’t enter this time but intend to in the future.

  8. Anne Coldron in Christchurch NZ

Congratulations Charlotte, when I saw Jeanne had said you were the winner I was totally confused because I hadn’t read Marilyn’s comment yet!
Marilyn, if you get my email from Jeanne and send me your address, I have an AG sweater that I can send you to help make up for missing out.

    1. Linda in St. Louis

Oh Anne, that is wonderful! Marilyn does have AG dolls, so a sweater in that size would work for her.

      Congratulations, Charlotte!

    2. Joy in northern CA

Oh, that would be so kind of you to send an AG sweater to Marilyn. So fun for everyone to get your gorgeous sweaters. šŸ™‚

    3. Charlotte Trayer

Thank you, Anne, and how sweet of you to send Marilyn one for her AG doll!! Thank you for that, too.

We have the best bunch of ladies in this group!!
