Hi everyone and welcome to the second day of 2026. Who has already made the mistake of writing 2025 on something… My hubby!!! :o)
Let’s get right to it… I received 6 sweet hand knitted sweaters from our dear Anne, down in New Zealand! She told me she wanted them given to the Sofa Sisters but let me decide how I wanted to do it. How VERY kind of Anne to do this! Thank you SO MUCH for your time and generosity, Anne!
There will be one sweater that fits the Ruby Red Fashion Friends or the American Girl Wellie Wishers dolls, given away in a drawing on today and next 5 Fridays! I will show you what today’s sweater looks like on the RRFF dolls and on my Wellie Wisher, Ashlyn.
I had my hubby draw out a sweater from a bag and this is the first one he picked, which will be the one featured today!
Here it is on Rozen, a Ruby Red Fashion Friend doll…
Here it is on Ashlyn… an American Girl Wellie Wisher doll…
This is the sweater laying on the table. It’s a pretty aqua blue and super easy to put on. I like how the front opening is made, so you can actually see what is under the sweater.
NOW… to be registered for the drawing, tell me how you’d have your doll dressed wearing this sweater. Would it be over a dress, with jeans, dressy pants, shorts and a tee shirt or something else? Let us all try to visualize how your doll will look if you are the winner.
You can leave your comments below or send me an email by clicking the “Contact Me” tab at the top of my blog post.
You have until midnight tonight (Illinois Central Time Zone) to register for the drawing, then I’ll post the winner tomorrow…even though it will be Saturday, I’ll post the winner! If I already have your address, I’ll send it Saturday.
Oh, and one more thing… let’s all be fair and only one sweater per person/doll! Thanks ladies!
Sorry, this is just for the ladies in the lower 48 United States.
Thank you again Anne, for your kind giving heart!
Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!
See you Monday,
Blessings, Jeanne

How lovely and generous of Anne to share sweaters in this way!! Thank you!!
Well, I think in this house we have decided that this aqua sweater would be just perfect for Frieda, with the dress I made her from a butterfly-print plisse’. It has a fair amount of aqua in it. It might also go with Bella’s dress that I made for her, of a confetti-print plisse’. There’s a little aqua in that one, too!
I did reply to Dorothy, Paula and Barbara in yesterday’s blog.
Dear Charlotte, I am responding to your comments from yesterday.
I will call it the Jewel Game as well. It’s my favorite.
About the guy with the sweater, I am calling him Cal (as in calendar), he now has on his original sweater not the one I created for him. Either he didn’t like mine or he has decided to rotate his sweater wardrobe (laugh).
I am definitely going to keep an eye on Cal so I can monitor his fashion selections. I think he could do with a different hat (smile).
What a beautiful aqua sweater, Jeanne! That color would go perfectly with my .Susette doll, to show off her blonde hair, and I think I would put her in a pretty spring dress, full of colorful flowers that I have for her, and that would work so well for
Easter!
Then again, I have Emmy, my Wellie doll, and she too would rock that sweater with her dark hair, and a cute little jumpsuit that has aqua flowers on it! They would be sharing it, like they do most of their clothes.
How very generous Anne, to do this, and it will be appreciated by us all!
How how nice you have Emerson. My grand girl Lauren brought her to me, she got it from Santa!! What a beautiful doll!
Yes, She is a cutie! She is Ivy’s little sister here.
Bonjour.et bonne année à vous toutes. Alors,même si je ne peux pas participer,je trouve ce gilet très joli et je le verrais bien sur une robe blanche,en broderie anglaise. Belle journée. Georgina.
Hello, and happy new year to you all. Even though I can’t participate, I think this vest is very pretty and I can picture it perfectly over a white, eyelet lace dress. Have a lovely day. Georgina.
Love, love the sweater! It would look so cute on my little Wellie Wisher with a dress for early Spring. As you can tell, I am tired of Winter!!!
Helen from Texas
Happy day number two of 2026!
I hope everyone feels fine and dandy. I have a stubborn cold and a headache!
I am not flat on the couch sick, it is just all right up there in my head 🤯
Well, this is good fun, by Anne, your knitting is lovely. What a sweet sweater, very fancy and very casual too.
My grand girls have two Sparkler Girls, one Wellie Wisher, and Three American Girls (two of them belonging originally to my daughter)
Both of my grand girls would find excellent outfits with this beautiful sweater, I love the
color! You are very generous!
Happy Friday everyone.
Glad that you’re not flat out from the cold. Hope you can kick it soon.
What a wonderful way to start the new year. Ann rocks on the sweater and Jeanne too for the giveaway. It is a lovely sweater which will make a sofa sister and a special doll so happy. I should have said warm too. Can’t wait to find out the winner on Monday.
Here, we have lots more rain heading in. We managed to get in a walk yesterday between showers, but probably not today as I have my eye appointment this morning.
After seeing other person’s new office chair all put together, I tried it. It is a very comfortable design and feels great. So, we may have to head down to Costco, soon and pick up another one for me! Yay. My current chair is in tatters with that leather bonding pulling apart and over days, it slowly sinks down to a new level. Interesting ride. The latest one is by Lazy Boy. I think it will fit in my computer space. 🙂
Have a great weekend everyone and keep warm.
My first post didn’t show up, so I’ll try again…
I told myself that this year I would contribute to the chats here, instead of just lurking at the end of the sofa, so I guess this is a good way to start!
I have Rozen, and since we are usually pretty casual around here, she would wear this sweater with pink jeans and a white tee shirt.
Hello, dear Sofa Sisters, I don’t know how many have noticed I haven’t posted in about a week, but my precious, precious, Tuxie boy Dancer went to Heaven on Saturday the 27th. 🐈⬛💔😭😿🪽 He had been fighting CKD for a little over a yea. I know he is safe, well, and happy and will be waiting along with all the sisters (four kitties and four dogs) for the happy reunion someday. Jesus is watching over them all. Of course I’m heartbroken once again, but a life without pets would be too empty. I’m so grateful I have other kitties who knew him and are a great comfort.
How sweet and generous of Anne to share her gorgeous handwork. Jeanne, since I knew it would certainly only be fair to be one sweater per person please DO NOT INCLUDE ME in the drawing for this one. It is beautiful, but I will wait for another choice for my Rubies.
Laura I am so sorry for the loss of your little man cat. Just remember you were there for him as much as he was for you. And you gave him the best love and care. That means so so much in a pets life. Thank you for being a kind caring person. At my age I’ve lost many pets and it’s surprising that much later something will remind me of a special quirk or memory of one of them and although it’s hurts when we loose them I’d never give up having any of them. So please enjoy the special memories too. Love to you.
Dorothy L.
Dear Dorothy L, Thank you so very much for your kind words! Yes, I have special memories of each one as just like people they each have their own distinct personality. No, I would never not have had any of them. They were/are each so very, very special.
Oh, I just read the news. My eyes are still greatly dilated, so please excuse any typos. I am very sorry for the loss of your tuxedo, Dancer. Such a beautiful boy. Please accept my condolences. So sad.
Dear Joy, Thank you so much! I’ve shared him before on here so you would have seen him.
Oh, Sweetie, I am so sorry for your little kitty leaving you. I have always had dogs, but sweet pets are very missed, no matter what they are. I bet they are all playing together now, all kinds of pets. I am glad you still have some still. I remember what it was like when my last one left me. We have not get any more, we are so busy going here and there. Dogs don’t do well with that kind of life.
Dear Sissy, Thank you so much! Actually, kitties, at least mine, also don’t do well with going here and there, but we are very much homebodies now (basically since 2020) so it is good for them.
Laura, I did notice you had been missing. I’m so sorry about the loss of your kitty. Our pets are certainly part of our families, that is for sure!! Hugs.
You’re welcome everyone. I will send some more to Jeanne if you enjoy my knitting. It is something to do in the cold days of winter, also when the cricket is on TV but the international team are going overseas for the next games and I don’t stay up for those!
Laura, I am so sorry about your precious kitty. I agree that a life without pets can be empty. Sam is resigned to the fact that the only grandchildren she will have, will have four legs and a tail (genetically) neither of her girls want children and Jono is too much of a recluse to find a girlfriend!
Summer has retreated at the moment but the rain is supposed to go away next week and a warm front is heading here from Australia so hopefully we will have the good weather back.
Have a great day
Dear Anne, how wonderful! That was very thoughtful of you.
Dear Anne, Thank you so much! Furbabies are wonderful extra children or grandchildren. All they ever ask for is love.
Very glad that you will be getting some warmer weather soon. Here, we have more rain coming in and high winds too. Power outages possible. Coastal flooding in Marin County right below us, but we’re 20 miles from the coast, so only local street flooding here. Nothing major, we hope.
Have a wonderful weekend and it was so kind of you to send sweaters to Jeanne for everyone. 🙂
What a wonderful idea this Ann/Jeanne give-away is. It’s also nice inspiration for Sofa Knitters.
If the sweater were mine, I’d pair it with one of Jeanne’s little girl sleeveless dresses in one of the flower prints from the Christmas treasure box, probably with white thigh-highs and black patent shoes, and maybe a bonnet inspired by Jeanne’s collection. The sweater is fairly casual, so the bonnet would be a challenge, but Jeanne can handle a challenge. A purse would be an acceptable alternative.
It is late but I didn’t want to wait until Monday. We arrived safely in Helen 3:00 and it has taken quite a while to get every thing out of the car and put away. We will be going to bed very early and I will catch up more with Y’all on Monday.
Ann, your sweater is adorable, I have one the same size and color so will let this one go to some one who needs it. You are so kind to do this for us. I am looking forward to seeing the next one.
Y’all have a great weekend!
