Hi everyone,
I did it! Mae is now officially modeling an “Easter” dress! It was supposed to be for Valentine’s Day, but “things” got in the way and I had to move it to the next holiday…Easter, which is April 1st this year! I’m glad I have some extra time to maybe get a few dresses made for my dolls. If you missed seeing the blog yesterday, I posted some of the pictures I took of Mae outside… You can see all the ones in the listing, by going to the listing HERE. Or you can click the picture at the right-side bar.
Out of all the pictures I took, for some reason, I LOVE this one probably the most…
It reminds me of this one I took of my Katie Effanbee doll a LONG time ago…
As far as Susette’s dolls go, Ada is SOLD, and Alice is possibly pending…
Suemae had to go back home… she lives 225 miles away from Susette’s house and can only work on it when she has time… She will get back to me when she goes back for another time of dolly sorting…
If you are interested in one of the other 2 dolls left… here they are again…
CHLOE…(14.5″ size doll) SOLD
JAMIE (a boy doll)…he is actually a 12″ size doll. SOLD
I’ll see you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

Congrats on getting Mae’s outfit listed on ebay! It’s just so lovely, hopefully it gets lots of bids!!
I agree, that is an especially nice picture of Mae.
Nice that two of Susette’s dolls now seem to have new owners, or will soon!!
Oh, I meant to congratulate Theresa on winning the red sweater the other day!
Well, I have finished another twinsie challenge! Not the little purse, whose prototype I made the other day. No, this time it’s a jacket, and we bought the fabric at Expo in 2020! However, the week after Expo was over, the world shut down due to Covid, and Expo was only virtual for 2021 and 2022, so the jacket got put on the back burner. We did something else for 2023, and kept saying, “we should get back to that black fabric”. Well, we finally decided THIS was the year to do that! So I’ve been working on mine this week, and tonight, I finished! Woohoo!! I am using an old Rag Merchant pattern called “the Fun of It Jacket”, and it’s actually more of a wrap than a jacket, but does have armholes and pockets, so Kind of a jacket! Again, no pictures yet, but I will send them along after our “reveal” at Expo!
Next up: that “little purse”!
Mae looks so sweet posing outside Jeanne! She sure brings in the sunshine even on a cloudy day! The colors of her dress look so cheery against the backdrop of the way our yards look now! Could she possibly be looking for what the Easter Bunny left? If so, she is a bit early! You say Easter is April 1st? According to my calendar, it is the 5th. Maybe that was a typo!
I’m so happy to see that several of Susette’s dolls have sold or at least pending. They really are a good price compared to what you see on EBay, especially when they have everything they came with. Some dolls are sold nude and cost more! My best wishes to Suemae for having to do all the work of selling the dolls!
Oh, I wanted to mention that someone, I think maybe Laura, said yesterday that she thought Susette’s granddaughter would inherit her dolls. Well, as you can imagine, Susette bought Riya a lot of her own dolls, and she has more than enough!
Good luck on the little purse, Charlotte!
Good morning dear ones.
Wow, it is totally grey outside here, not very exciting, but I should be sort of happy because it is going to be 37º today and that sort of makes me happy.
Jeanne, all of the photos you took of Mae turned out so cute, I just love her and her dress. Your dress is going to be very popular and I am sure there will be a super intense bidding contest.
IF I could to choose a dolly, I would get Chloe… but I can not. She is super cute, She needs a very good home with a loving mommy to dote on her all day, and her own bed and pajamas and slippers, and some cute corduroy pants, and a fun t-shirt with a flower on the front, and a sweater and maybe even a pet kitty, and most certainly some play shoes and tiny socks.
All of the dolls are so cute. Even the boy doll is cute. I know Suemae will find the perfect homes for these two remaining dearies.
Charlotte, I am looking forward to viewing your creative masterpieces! Isn’t it fun being busy sewing?
I hope everyone has a fun day today. I mailed out valentine’s cards to all of my grand kiddos. I try not to think of it too much… but I have not heard a peep from my daughter Elizabeth and her kiddos that I surprise visited last month. I do not enjoy thinking about that too much. Just keeping my heart open.
I am grateful that my oldest daughter and her daughters love us.
Love to all of you.
Little Mae is such a darling. Her photo shoot was grand and with that spiffy Easter hat, she can’t miss on the fashion parade. I was surprised to see how much she resembles Jeanne’s, Katie Effanbee doll of the past. I also wanted to mention that Susette’s doll Jamie, is a siblie, I believe. If so, he would be 12″ and fit in with other dolls that size or be a little brother to the standard Ruby Reds. He is a great doll. I’m surprised that all of the Ruby Reds haven’t been spoken for as yet. They really are a bargain and would be so fun for someone that wants to play.
The rain has disappeared and we are back to sunny weather for awhile at least. It was nice to have the plants watered after so many dry days though. I checked again, and now I have three pots with tiny daffodils showing their colors. 🙂
I finished the saddle blanket and started on the horse bridle. Still trying to figure out a few things for a simple photo without too many props.
Oh, and I did remember to pick up a couple of valentines yesterday. Those needing travel time have already been sent. Not a clue what we want to do for Valentine’s Day yet around here. Probably will depend on the weather. I just checked and at elevation 4288 feet, maybe sprinkles late in the day. Humm.
Thanks Joy… I didn’t know Jamie was a Siblies size 12″ doll… I’ll add that in…
Dear Jeanne, Mae looks adorable. She will definitely be leading the Easter Parade in her pretty bonnet.
My Computer woke up this morning a mess, no mail! I found a way to get in the blog after calling the place that sends our mail but it is a real mess. I don’t even know if this note will go to you.
Hi Sissy, We can see your comment on the blog… Hope it’s not TOO big of a mess…
Blessings, Jeanne
Hope that it was just a glitch on your computer and it is back to normal now.
All the pictures of Mae are adorable. Sadly I don’t have a Mae but it’s probably a good thing I don’t because all my other dolly daughters would be upset because I know I would sew mostly for her. She’s such a great size and so cute. And everything looks good on her.
Glad to see two of Susette’s dolls are finding new homes. Does anyone know how many dolls Susette had? Truth be told I don’t know how many dolls I have. I haven’t counted lately, but then I haven’t bought many lately either. I really need to get back into my dolly/sewing room.
Another beautiful day here. I’m thinking of taking a walk this afternoon. My cane turns into a walking stick so I will take that with me and walk the half mile so that it will put me at the bleachers for the baseball field at the halfway mark. Just in case I need to sit for a spell. Did my rowing machine this morning too. Still hoping that with my chiro adjustments and exercising more I can eventually get back to normal. it’s been a long time.
Barbara, I myself wonder if Susette knew how many dolls she had! She had quite a few Ruby Red dolls, and I know this is only the tip of the iceberg, but Suemae can only do a few at a time, so we will have to wait.
No idea of Susette’s doll numbers, but If you look back at Jeanne’s pics and type in Susette Christmas, I think the pic of her stairs will come up. The one with all of her dolls standing on the steps. There are quite a few.
Jeanne, I just emailed you.
I will buy Chloe. She is beautiful.
Please let me know if she is still available.
Love, Rosemary
Hi Rosemary,
I sent you an email, but thought you might see it here too. Chloe sold earlier today and has already been shipped to her home… keep watching…
Sorry, Jeanne
