Did you guess what might be next for Noel, my Boneka doll?

We had a funeral visitation out of town this afternoon and evening, so I didn’t get as much done as I had hoped, but still… there’s enough to show you and I hope you’ll like it!

Did you guess a purse for Noel?

How about a felt jacket?

What if I made some other piece for this set?

Well, I won’t keep you guessing… this is what I did in the free time I had today…

I made a sweet little red furry jacket for Noel. It’s a super soft and almost silky like feeling faux fur. It’s one of those furs that you want a pillow made out of and you hug it in bed.

I wish there was some way to take pictures of RED fabrics without them just looking like blobs. This jacket looks like one big red mass on Noel, but in person, you can see the fur in a different way. Oh well, I had no idea it was going to look like this in my pictures, so I’ll have to see what I can do about that part.

For the sewing, it’s just a simple slide on jacket that has been lined with tulle again, to make it super lightweight.

Okay, did you spot something else in that picture above?

I couldn’t let her have a jacket without a hat, could I?

I made just a simple hat too… that ties under her chin…

I may embellish the jacket and hat someway, but it’s late and I need to get to bed… maybe tomorrow!

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

Oh, I love Noel’s new red furry jacket and matching hat! They really set off her pretty dress.

I have been invited to join the people at the adult family home for Thanksgiving on Thursday, and, when asked what to bring, Elizabeth said some kind of dessert. That’s easy enough! STill thinking about what to bring. She also invited our son (although I don’t know if he/they will go or not) and I’m sure family members of the other residents, too.

In talking about music yesterday, I neglected to mention that I had been in a handbell choir for over 20 years at our old church. I really do miss that. We used to go to bell conferences, and learned a lot there. In fact, I learned how to do solo ringing, and that was always fun and a challenge! I also learned how to take a bell apart for cleaning! I have occasionally filled in with the bell choir at another church, too, but now that I’m playing piano for our church, that wouldn’t work out schedule-wise.

    Thanksgiving blessings to all!

I forgot to mention yesterday that I love handbell choirs. Last year for our Chorale concert we had a couple ladies play handbells during one of our songs. It really added to the song and the audience loved it.

Oh Jeanne, I love the red furry jacket and that darling little hat! Just the thing to tame her locks and warm her ears! AT first I thought the red jacket was too overpowering on her, but when you added the hat and that pretty bow, it was just perfect!

Well, I am beat since we spent the day walking around the Mo. Botanical Gardens with ur son and family! I don’t think I have been this tired for years!

  3. It’s adorable! Love the fur jacket! Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving, I am getting ready for 27 here at the farm. Everyone helps and it is a joyous occasion!

Love the jacket, but Noel needs to lift up her chin so she doesn’t look like she is choking. Maybe she is trying to stay warm. 🙂
Hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving.
    Stay safe.

Forgot to mention yesterday that I have several 10″ Ann Estelle patterns for my Sophie. Never thought of using them for my L’il Dreamers but since you used them for your LeeAnn I will give it a try.

  5. Be sure to set your scale back a few pounds and enjoy all the Thanksgiving yummies. Turkey is good hot and cold🤭👏
The red jacket and hat make it a true Winter outfit. She looks nice and warm!
    Such a cute little doll.
Pie making day for me. Pecan-2,Lemon Meringue-1, Apple-1 ( bought a Pumpkin 😲 at Costco. Holy moly it was crazy there yesterday but no matter what they get you through that line lickety split!)
My sister is making about a bushel of Chex mix and in her opinion the pre made Chex mix packet is good…we did add a bit more Worcestershire sauce though.
    Enjoy Thanksgiving all you Sisters🦃

  6. Noel looks warm and toasty in her furry jacket and hat.
Happy Thanksgiving to you Jeanne and all the Sofa Sisters!! Off to make the pies ( my grandmother’s modified German apple version and pumpkin) and toast the bread for her dressing.

Noel looks very festive in her lovely dress and jacket. Like Linda I wasn’t sure about the jacket until you put the hat on her, then it worked for me. Lovely.
Have a great Thanksgiving everyone, sounds like lots of yummy food.

An increasingly more adorable outfit all the time. I love the furry jacket and hat. I think Noel needs a muff so her hands stay warm.

I had a lovely Duo call with my daughter (who normally lives in Maine but is in Kansas City, MO, at the moment at her in-laws) this morning. We hated to say good-bye but we both needed to go to lunch. She moved from Colorado in July. It’s still hard to think of her being so far away. She was only two days away in Colorado but a trip to Maine, since I don’t fly anymore, will take some creative planning. I’m thinking maybe some train travel is in order.

Happy Thanksgiving to all my Sofa Sisters. Enjoy!

Oh, yes, Barbara, a muff would be perfect! I had one when I was a little girl (navy velvet–I think I still have it!) and I absolutely loved it!

Wow, we could really have a “Sofa Choir” wouldn’t that be fun! Those that aren’t in choirs could give us applause!

Jeanne , I love the warm, snugly red fur. She is so adorable in it all.

Busy making my contribution to the family Thanksgiving at my niece’s home tomorrow. I will take cranberry relish, oyster dressing, meringues with strawberries, and a cornucopia with fruit and cheeses. I saw a cornucopia made from pizza dough at another dinner and tried it. Mine is a first try and looks it, but the fruit will help hide the boo boos, LOL!
