Another pair of Ruby Red Fashion Friends white shorts

I had another VERY busy weekend… workday at one of the dorms on Saturday, getting things ready for new students to move in and then on Sunday Kristoffer helped SET UP a new Internet system for me…(which took all afternoon!) YES… NO MORE SATELLITE! No more rain storms knocking out my internet!! It’s fabulous and incredibly fast! I am very excited! Then we talked with Rebecca and Karn for over and hour and next it was dinner, then packaging up the winner’s “Snapshots of Summer” set… (sorry for those of you who lost out on it!) It was a very exciting ending… 14 bids in the last 10 seconds… my phone was dinging like crazy! There will be more outfits, so don’t be brokenhearted!

The only thing I got done was a new pair of white shorts for the Ruby Red Fashion Friends dolls. I know I just made a pair of white shorts, but I tweaked my pattern just a hair and wanted to try it out while it was fresh in my mind… to see if it worked. It did, but I need to try a different fabric, other than linen to see if they go together any quicker…another time…

So this is my crazy weekend Monday post… a pair of white shorts… sorry, but that’s how things go at my household sometimes…

See you tomorrow and back to Kirsten’s set!

Blessings, Jeanne

WOW! That was quite an auction, Jeanne!! All the activity…and in such a short span of time! Congratulations!!

The new white shorts are looking good. Yes, I think something other than linen will be a little easier to sew on!

Congrats on that exciting ending of the last auction! Wow! I wonder if any of our sofa sisters won that?

Nice shorts, and so happy for you that you now have a better way of doing the blog without any problems with the weather! Now tell Kristoffer to fix the weather! 🙂

  3. That was a very successful auction! A great fashionista set. I had to get in thru the back door again, meaning I never received the blog to my email and had to use an old post to get here ☹️.
I don’t which are the tweaked white shorts but I like them slightly below the navel and the slight flare. Maybe a chambray would work well and sorta mimic linen or denim.
How did the kitchen island turn out? As useful as you expected? Have a great day.

  4. Congratulations Jeanne! It’s a wonderful summer set. Very cute and should just about cover every activity for someone’s RRFF.

So, exactly what kind of new internet system is being used? So curious. Glad the satellite is gone as the new set up sounds so much speedier. I don’t suppose that you have anything strung on power lines available? Underground? Here,
we have new lines strung, but we haven’t switched over yet. We’re trying to figure out which group we want to use. So, did you have a dish attached somewhere? Guess that can be dismantled now as well if you had one. Trying to get rid of one around here is another issue.
Congrats on your auction. Some dollies will be thrilled to have new outfits. 🙂
Looks like one pair of shorts is a bit longer than the other? No problem with that. The waist seems to stand out from the body a bit too. Maybe that is to allow for a tucked in shirt? Most of my shorts fit at the waist, but that is because I usually go the easy way with elastic. I really like the no elastic look of these great shorts. Very stylish.
Had fun yesterday seeing relatives and catching up at our annual picnic at cousin’s ranch. The weather was perfect for the outdoor event under the oaks on top of a CA coastal mountain with distant views of the dam/lake that holds water for our whole county. Lots of talk about relatives of the past as well. A great day. 🙂

Joy, you family gathering sounds wonderful. My mother’s family had a family reunion for years in PA and even after we moved to DE my mother would go. I went once and it was a lot of fun but then I moved to TX and could never attend. The kids in PA started school after Labor Day and our kids in TX started mid-August and the reunion was always right before Labor Day so going on vacation at that time wasn’t an option. I’m not sure these days they even have one because so many that organized ir have passed away. Your cousin’s ranch sounds like it’s in a wonderful location.

Regarding internet availability, for years we didn’t have much here and we needed dial-up for a long time. Then we got cable but we were still at the bottom of the list for things like high speed and fiber optic. Finally we did got fiber optic and we have our service with AT&T. David has the same at the shop but a business version. His is still faster than mine but probably because there are less that use it.

  6. Congratulations on the ending to your eBay auction! That whole outfit was adorable and I always enjoy watching the auctions even if I never win! But congratulations to the lucky winner!

Dear Jeanne, how wonderful about the auction. That was certainly a winning ensemble.

You did have a busy weekend. I hope the week will be a bit less hectic.

Yes, congratulations on your very successful auction. Hope it was one of my sofa sisters who was the lucky winner. Not too many bids until the last minute but you did well. Looking forward to the next RRFF ensemble.

I’m chomping at the bit to get back to sewing doll wearing attire now that the pools are finished. I’m excited to try my hand at creating some cute swimsuits, but before I can do that I will be taking my machine in to the shop tomorrow for a tune-up. I can’t remember when I took it in last. They said they’ve been managing a less than a week turnaround so that’s good. I’m going to do the prep work while it’s gone. Planning, pinning and cutting. The planning is fun. Pinning and cutting not so much but if I have a lot of that done before my machine returns I can get to the finished products sooner. The girls are excitedly awaiting their first splash party.
