Pictures of MORE dolls… all the way up the stairs! :o)

Hi everyone,
Sorry, I wasn’t able to comment on anything today… I had Physical Therapy this morning, after a meeting, and good news… I went into therapy with the “blue bubble” about the size of a marble… When I came out, I realized it was gone! Guess that neck massage caused it to disappear… It’s nice not having that in my line of sight!

I got home and changed clothes and got a call asking if there was any way I could take some night shirts and split them down the back and across the shoulders and add ties to them. His wife is going home from the hospital and into hospice and he wanted her to have something familiar and soft and comfy and easy to put on… I went to his house, picked them up and worked on them for a few hours, then delivered them back to him… it was hard…

So there wasn’t much sewing for me today… but this is what they looked like… not that you can tell anything from them…

When I finally checked my phone, I saw I had gotten some pictures from Susette, and she said, “If I wanted to use them, I could…”
If I wanted??? Yes, I wanted to use them… they are very cute and I love the one with the dolls going up the stairway… you will too! Thank YOU Susette!

The comments below are from Susette! You can click on any of the pictures and they will enlarge!

This is an In Motion doll Eva, a brand that was new to me but produced by RRFF I found the tiny compass and passport on eBay. They are from a charm bracelet with the tiny ring on them. I couldn’t resist all the details

This is what I call my Doll Tree. Lots of glass dolls bought at Home Goods over a couple of seasons many years ago.

Someone asked about the relative sizes of the dolls. Here are RRFF Perihelia, Little Darling , RRFF Siblie, In Motion doll Eva, Ten Ping and her little sister.

This is the stairway picture I told you was my favorite… I love how it looks! Thanks Susette!

Well, that’s it for me today… it’s after 11:00 and I need to get to bed…

See everyone tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

What good news–the blue bubble is gone! Yay!

That is areal labor of love, transforming those gowns to back-openings. Thoughtful of the husband to come up with the idea, and of you to make it happen. When my mom was no longer up and dressed everyday, I found a free pattern for a hospital gown on the Lazy Girl Designs website, and made some for her–mostly in blues, her favorite color. Her eyes lit up when I showed her the first one, (She could no longer speak by then.) After she died, I donated them and the back-opening dresses I’d bought for her to the nearby nursing home.

Susette, I just love your dolls displayed along the stairs! Also your dolly tree. So festive! Nice to see the comparison of sizes, too. Thanks for sharing!

Kathie, thanks for the offer, but I don’t have a smart phone! However I do have email: clt22409@yahoo.com (I trust you and the sisters, too).

I did a load of wash today, by myself! I may try the half-mile drive to the PO tomorrow. Getting cabin fever! 🥴

That was so nice of you, Jeanne, to fix those tops! I’m sure that man will remember the kindness you showed him for a long time to come. And yet, it was a sad sewing project, I understand that!

It is good to hear that your blue bubble is finally gone too!

Susette, your tree is beautiful! I have never see. A tree like yours, all decorated with dolls and brightly colored lights! It surely must bring Christmas cheer to your living room!

I see more clearly now, the different sizes of the smaller dolls. It looks like the LD’s and Siblies are close to the same size, although LD’s look a tad bigger.

Those dolls on the stairs are the cutest picture! You certainly are lucky to have them!

    1. Thank you. I certainly enjoy seeing your scenes with all the details and thought that goes into them.

Someone had asked about the difference when making patterns. The In Motion doll is a good example of a doll being as tall as another but being smaller in “bone structure,” or scale. So I stood them side by side to see for myself as well.

I certainly was kind of Jeanne to do a rush job on the blouses. They will be much appreciated.

Glad to hear that the eye bubble has vanished. Great news. And fixing those tops for your friend’s wife was so nice of you.
That was a perfect idea Susette, to line your girls up by size. There are some very cute ones in the collection. I’ve always wanted Perihelia. Love the exquisite doll tree too. 🙂
We had light rain again last night. Every drop helps around here. Still not hitting far enough north. Maybe soon though as more is expected in the coming days.
Finally found a pattern for a 5 1/2″ doll that I like. I wasn’t having any success with reducing something that small, so we’ll see how it looks when it arrives. 🙂

    1. Thanks, Joy. Mother Nature just teases us here in Southern California. She saves rain for the rest of the country.

So glad your blue bubble is gone. I know you are too. Doing those gowns was a very special thing to do. I know it was difficult under the circumstances and I’m sure it was much appreciated. What a thoughtful thing for her husband to have done for his wife.

Susette, I love the picture of the dolls on the stairs. They make for a really great picture. The picture of the dolls lined up by size is great for people who don’t have all the dolls and can’t imagine the difference in sizes. Sometimes though it’s not the difference in height that makes a difference when trying to decide to use a pattern created for another doll but the actual measurements. I even found the spread of the hands can make a difference where sleeves are concerned.

Wow, Charlotte, you do seem to be taking advantage of your abilities where you can. You’re proving it’s hard to keep a good woman down. David was like that after his heart and knee surgeries. When he told me what he did during the day, I often found myself saying you did what? I was glad that he often had one or both of the boys with him.

The A/C went back on here last night and probably for the rest of the week. Yuck!

    1. Thanks. You for your kind comments. Yes, it’s the scale of the dolls. It can be seen clearly in the size of the hands of the Siblie compared to the In Motion. I think she’s small-boned. Ha, ha.

  5. Barbara you probably won’t get too much sympathy about heat from those of us turning up the heat to stay warm…or those without electricity ☺️🥹 I’m jealous😅
Glad you are able to do a bit more with your arm Charlotte. Will send you an email😉
Suzette that is a great tree and lining up your dolls by size is such a good idea. It is a great way to compare them too. Your stairway pic is indeed my favorite too!
Jeanne that hubby was certainly thinking when he wanted his wife in comfy familiar nighties. She’s going to be thrilled. So much for your day.
Bye bye bubble can be your song for today🤗👏

  6. Jeanne, glad your eye is better. The latest ensemble is beautiful! Thanks for soldiering through and keeping the blog alive with all you do for the sofa sisters as well as for your community. Now for your tree and family time soon.

Dear Susette, thanks for sharing photos of your doll children with us. I love seeing them on the stairs.

How many dolls are on your doll tree?

I think that the doll in the first photo was a souvenir doll at one of the UFDC conventions.

Dear Jeanne, I don’t know how you do all of the things you do. You are amazing.

I am glad you are doing better. I hope you are able to get some much needed rest this week.
