I’M BACK and Ruby Red Fashion Friends doll, James, is still in the spotlight!

It is SO good to be back at the computer filling you in on what goes on in my world. If you missed me this weekend, my blog shut down because of a server error. I’m not entirely sure what happened, but I clicked to update some plugins Friday evening and whammie… my blog shut down and I couldn’t get into it, no matter what I tried… I tried Googling what the error was called but it said, “Go into your dashboard and do this and this and this to solve the problem…” UH… no… I couldn’t get INTO my dashboard, so I was just stuck… I tried emailing Sarah (my webmaster) but she didn’t answer… So I asked a guy at church and he said with an error like that, it could be anything! It could be hundreds of possibilities… UGH! So this morning, I thought about it… and my server is Blue Host, so I found a number for Support Technology…and thought, surely they will know what to do… and I got a guy who helped me for about an hour or so… It seemed to work… but I’ve since gotten new updates for new plugins… and I’m worried that if I update them, the same thing will happen again. So I’m just writing this post and hopefully Sarah will get back with me before I have to update them…

Anyway, it’s great to be back and thank you for all the messages and concern. You all are the sweetest readers… One lady even said, she could hardly function without reading my blog to get her day started! :o)

Okay, so I’ve been busy… working on the wedding dress, trying to get it out of the way, so I can PLAY! PLAY! PLAY!

HOWEVER, James was still laying on my cutting table looking ever so handsome, even in his skivvies!

I LOVE his little afro…and I’m keeping it…

…but I had an idea for a “little boy haircut” and found a wig, I liked, that had to be trimmed up a bit, but I LOVE his new look. Want to see it?

NOW… while you are looking at his new wig… go back and look at his lips… they are P-R-E-T-T-Y Pink! My hubby was calling him Halle Berry… mostly because of his eyelashes… but those lips did seem a bit pink for a boy…

…so I took a water color pencil and “browned” them up just a little bit. If I didn’t like them, I could just dab a wet q-tip on them and it would come off, but I like the color… It’s sort of shiny looking because of my lights, but in person, it’s very nice…

So how do you like my new boy now?

Well, I wanted to make him something other than those casual shoes, so I decided to try a pair of dress shoes out of some black leather… This is what I came up with…

I had to draft a pattern first and this was pretty close…

He just needs some socks to wear with them…

So I made something else for him, but you’ll have to come back tomorrow and see… :o)

Thanks for hanging in there with me!
See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

I’ve been waiting for Charlotte to comment, but I’m here, so I will start. I’m SO glad you are back, Jeanne! I too, start the day with you in the blog, and when it isn’t there I feel kind of lost! At first I thought maybe it was the storm we had Friday night, but then you did answer back to me, I guess on your phone, so I knew you must have had power. Your explanation of what happened went right through my head, so I don’t quite understand what the porblem was, but you are back, and that’s what counts!

Both wigs are cute on James, but I prefer the first one for him. However, the second one looks like a little Indian boy, so that works too with the darker skin tone. And that is great about taking off the pink on his lips! I think the RRFF boys look too feminine, due to those pink lips and those eyelashes! He looks more masculine now!

I really like those oxfords you made, and I think that type of shoe have worked better with the outfit he came in.

So glad you are back and hope you stay here for a good long while!

Linda, I prepared this answer about the TV for you the other day but didn’t see a comment from you so I saved it. I’m not sure why a TV cannot be “upgraded”, but it can’t. After a few years companies do something that will not allow newer apps to be supported. My son and daughter-in-law had to replace their TV when they went to streaming – which is becoming necessary as many cable providers are now going to streaming only. As I said, I have trouble replacing something that works perfectly but you’re pretty much forced to if you want TV at all. I was a hold out for upgrading to a smart phone until we had a weather situation here and our cable and power went out. There was no way to check the weather and we wouldn’t have had a clue we had a microburst until Dionne called and said they heard we had a tornado. We quickly went to phones that would allow us access to information when nothing else worked. It’s such a natural thing for the younger generation but I’m used to the days of one phone company, one electric provider, etc. Thankfully Sean steps in and he doesn’t even roll his eyes. He’s glad to help. And I am loving my streaming TV.

Barbara, I am from your generation, so I too, don’t get it! But we had no trouble with our TV when we upgraded. One of the mysteries of the universe! Thank you for your reply!

James looks adorable in either wig!! Such a cutie. I think his lips do look a little more natural with the brown over the pink. However, if you look around, you may find that, indeed, some people just Do have naturally more “pink” or even “red” lips than others! So, I’m good with him either way.

The new oxfords look so grown up! I’m sure James is thrilled. Next he’ll be expecting a suit and tie to go with them! (I mean, a Different suit and tie than what he came with!)

I did miss your blog–found it out Friday night when I went to read everyone’s comments, so I sent the email to the “webmaster” as directed on the screen that popped up, and also emailed you. I heard from both Ingrid (FB messenger) and Dorothy (email), wondering if I knew anything about it, although I didn’t see Dorothy’s email until late tonight, so I think she already found you back by the time I replied.

Yeah, I think I wouldn’t touch anything else until your webmaster takes a look. No use “fixing” something that is working!!

Dear Charlotte, yes, I did find out so no worries. It also gave me a chance to give you an update on dolly life in my house.

    1. Hi Linda,
I just saw that… and decided to leave them both… or I could delete one if you like…

      1. Linda in St. Louis

Jeanne, might as well take the second comment off. It says basically the same things, and I don’t want to bore people! Thanks for asking!

Well, I hope Jeanne was able to work on that wedding dress while thinking about how to fix the blog. Ah, the plug in! Of course. So glad that a solution has been found. I think we all missed our morning I Dream of Jeanne Marie fix. 🙂
Friday night, I went back to read posts and found as everyone else that there was that Server Error. Ugh. At first I thought It was something on my computer and tried to view old posts and even went to far as to look up other blogs on Word Press which worked just fine. Contacted Jeanne, who said that she couldn’t get in either. Not good.
On another note, I had a recent computer update and now, I can’t view the photos on my Pinterest emails. They used to all arrive ready to view, but now each one has to be hit before coming up. Have no idea how to fix that problem. 🙁 Always something.
We’ve had some rain here and snow in the sierra, so that’s a plus. 🙂
And, I managed to hit up Joann’s yesterday. Came away with more fabric. Other person was not smiling. Lots of cute holiday fabric and some tiny prints. 🙂
I think I hear the street sweeper. Yay! After the rains, we have leaves blanketing the neighborhood. Hope the driver doesn’t forget our street as in the past, forcing me to contact the company and complain.
Big day today. Hope everyone votes. 🙂

Good job, Jeanne. 👍 Wise, too, to wait for Sara before doing any more fiddling and diddling. Technology, ugh. 😣

These dress shoes are wonderful; I was hoping you might give them a shot. Just look at you and all the new things you are constantly challenging yourself to do and meeting those challenges so successfully. You make my head spin and laugh with pure glee. 😁

I think we are all waiting to see what you do with that wedding dress. Looked like a nightmare situation to me, but I know the project is in the best of hands.

That different wig on James gives you two awesome options. As for the lips, I have no problems with lips on these dolls except for Lila’s. Drove me crazy, so out came my watercolor pencils, too. More appealing to me now, but she is my
least favorite of these dolls. Anyway, I think my boy needs to have a straight hair wig option and will look into that. ( My skills don’t cover cutting hair at all…real or wigs. I DID get up the nerve to pierce Vasilisa’s ears and have now done Eira’s. What a chicken I am! But they look great. )

Baking buttermilk rolls this morning. Just love them. Have a fine day, and yes, DO vote.

  5. So glad you’re back, Jeanne!
James is a nice doll and it looks like you’ll have some great shoes and boy clothes in the future!!

Jeanne, so glad you are back. I’d finally reached the point where I could check in on the blog regularly again and it was nowhere to be found. I decided to give it a try again this morning and was delighted to see it once again. I think James is the cutest! Both his wigs are very nice. I see where Kathy Anne Designs is now doing some patterns for RRFF boy dolls.

I will finally be opening my serger box this morning and putting up my new serger. I mentioned buying a computer desk to put it on. It had the best drawers and storage of anything I found and my new serger has a lot of small parts. Sean put it together for me while I was on vacation but I’ve had so much catch-up to do since I got back I haven’t been able to change things out in my sewing room. I finally moved the sewing table that I had my previous serger on out of the room and the new serger desk in. Everything fits perfectly. I’m hoping the table will work for Jaiden when she gets her sewing machine for Christmas. I got two new chairs for the sewing machine and serger. They are more stable than my previous chairs, one of which often got away from me – not good. They are a pretty orange and go with the flowers on my window curtains. Sean can’t believe I bought orange chairs. My sewing room needed some color and they’re perfect. The green like them that I looked out were more expensive. Have no idea why because it’s the same chair but I’m happy with the orange and the price.

I’m hoping to spend more time in my sewing room starting this week. My fingers are itching to get back to doing something creative.

Hi Jeanne! I’m happy to see you back. Things might not be completely resolved but I think you’ll be fine until your webmaster can take a look. Very wise of you to leave it until then. James is a cutie. I can see the draw for wanting to create for him. Love the new shoes. Hope the wedding dress is coming along. What a chore I’m not that ambitious LOL. Recently I became an official U.S citizen but life has been crazy and I ran out of time to register! Nuts!!! Totally my fault! Oh my word I need some B12. I hope everyone gets out there and votes!

Dad decided he does not have cataracts.. he called and cancelled his appointments, all three of them. He’s sneaky.. he called early in the am before the office opened and left a message. The doctors office called me and told on him. I talked to him until I was blue in the face but couldn’t convince him so the appointments that took months to get … gone! Last week Dad informed me he made an appointment for a second opinion and can I go with him. Hubby says deep breaths Ingrid, deep breaths…

    Happy Tuesday everyone
    hugs
    Ingrid

    1. Deep breaths, Ingrid, and a slice of chocolate cake. How neat you recently became a citizen. I’m a second generation American on my mom’s side. My grandfather immigrated from Germany in 1927.
      When’s the sweet puppy coming?

    2. Dorothy in PA and the World

Dear Ingrid, congratulations on becoming a citizen.

If you travel back through American history, you will find that we, through our ancestors, are all immigrants or forced transplants here, except for the Native Americans.

      Welcome home!

  8. Hi Jeanne, nice to see things are working smoothly for right now. Updates have a way of ruining things. Once an update forced me to take my computer back to factory settings and start over.
James looks cute in both wigs. In the second he could pass as Freida’s brother. The oxfords are great and actually would look much better with his ‘meet” outfit.

  9. Dorothy in PA and the World

Dear Jeanne, I like the second wig for James. He looks like a boy from India. I am looking forward to seeing what his first outfit will be.
