My first pair of Little Darling Sandals… Lian is thrilled!

Hi everyone,
I wrote this post the day before I left and will do my best to check in with you…

Lian was excited to get a chance to look in the Dolly Toy Box and look what she found… a bright red teddy bear that goes wonderfully with her new dress set… I even tied a blue bow around her neck and added a little white star. Lian has decided to call her Regina…

She’s also excited to show you the very first pair of Little Darling sandals I’ve made… Lian doesn’t have a slit between her toes like the Ruby Red Fashion Friends do, so I had to make her a sandal instead of a flip flop.

I was hoping to get them right on my first try and I have to admit, they are pretty close… I just need to tweak them a little bit on the thickness of the leathers I use to stack for the soles… they could stand to be just slightly thicker so the trim around them doesn’t ride up above the shoe soles.

I made them using a navy trim I had and some elastic. They are SO SO easy to put on… you just put your dolls foot between the 2 pieces of elastic… one goes around the foot and the other around the heel…

I think they are pretty wonderful and now I’ve got to work on some more… I’ll try to add them to my Etsy shop when I add the Ruby Red Fashion Friends flip flops…

Well, what do you think?

I’ll hopefully see you tomorrow!
Blessings, Jeanne

Lian picked the perfect teddy bear to go with her outfit! I’m sure Regina loves her blue bow with the star!

The sandals are just darling, and what a wonderful way to get them on and keep them on her feet. I can see there are going to be some girls in this house who will be shopping at Aunty Jeanne’s etsy shop as soon as possible!!

I meant to add, I am keeping you and George in my prayers. Hope you will be able to update us when his surgery is over.

Jeanne, these sandals are darling, and look so easy to put on her feet, like you mentioned. I can also see you making these for AG dolls too, since they don’t have that separation between the toes. The decorative ribbon can be worn with other dresses or outfits too, not just the Fourth.

The little red bear is the perfect additon to this outfit!

I’m not sure whre you are, but if you are in St. Louis, get ready for some heat!! Hopefully you will be inside in A/C, so that will help!

By the way, I did answer the questions about what I bought in Saturday’s blog. Oh, I did forget yours! Yes, Willie did have ice cream!! Why wouldn’t he on a hot day? 😉

May God guide the surgeon today as he operates on George, and prayers for a successful operation. Take care!! Much love to you!

Hi Linda, I did respond to your answer about your new Molly goodies. Enjoy!

All of your readers are wishing George a smooth surgery and an easy, fast recovery. You are experts now and as he recovers he’ll have the pleasure of admiring all the work he wore the last knee out on.

The sandals are lovely. I like the double straps and the flower design on the ribbon. The whole outfit has come together nicely — Regina exactly matches the red star on Lian’s dress.

I hope the hospital has good food. Having something pleasant in your day helps the long wait. You’ll be home soon and everything will start getting better.

I think Lian is thrilled with the finishing touches for her patriotic dress. I am looking forward to your sandal shop on Etsy. I think they will be a hit with collectors.

Best thoughts, prayers, and wishes for today.

Hope you and George can see some sights early today before whatever time hospital check in is. Might help to take the mind off of not eating breakfast. I’m sure all will go well on George’s knee procedure. They do so many now, that it is routine. I’m sure his will go perfectly as planned. Hope he is released tomorrow so you can be on your way home. That awaiting ice machine should be so helpful in his recovery and it will be nice to have Rebecca and Karn there as well.
The sandals are cute and the fit looks perfect. Good job!
We had a wonderful family picnic yesterday at cousin’s ranch. After the high heat on Friday, we welcomed the cooler weather and enjoyed the gorgeous views across the mountains from their picnic area. Fun catching up with everyone, and we made it back in time to get a cousin to the bus station to catch a ride back to San Francisco.
I think that RRFF Venus may be mailed out this week, so looking forward to the arrival sometime soon. 🙂

Oh what adorable sandals. Another sure win for your Etsy shop. You won’t be able to keep all these sandals and flip-flops in stock. And maybe you could add slips to that too.

Regina is the perfect addition to the sweet little outfit. So cute with her navy bow and white star.

Praying that all goes well for George and that he has less pain than last time. There is recovery involved but I found the hardest part was getting the actual surgery off the to-do list, especially since we were trying to get David’s two knee surgeries done before the end of the year so we wouldn’t have to pay another out-of-pocket. We barely made it but I was glad when we didn’t have to worry about the “when” any longer.

Still digging years of pictures out of the closet and trying to organize them for both myself and future generations. I thought I was good about putting names, ages and dates on the back but I found too many where I didn’t. Solving that could take a little research and picking my kids’ brains to come up with the timeframe. I found that gets harder as they got older and didn’t change in appearance as much – and I no longer sewed their clothes. But I am multi-tasking and cut out a cute little summer dress for my Mini Maru Chloe that I will start sewing this afternoon. Except for the dress she arrived in she has to rely on the generosity of her same-size sisters to have something else to wear. She’s more than happy to be getting a dress made especially for her.

Dear Jeanne, we will be praying for you and your husband.

Lian is adorable. I love little Regina.

  8. Prayers for George’s surgery, Jeanne. I’m sure everything will be just fine.

Lian’s sandals are super cute as is Regina. The tiny star and blue bow pulls it all together.

  9. I did love the flip flops on the RRFF since her feet acomodate them but this style is just perfect…that way of attaching the elastic is so clever…they will slip on easily and stay on nice and snug. I’d like a pair for me as well☺️🥴 They will be nice with other outfits too. This combination is primo!
Hope today goes smoothly and the trip home too. 🙏🏻 For you both.

    Hi Jeanne,
You and George are in my thoughts and prayers. Waiting is awful I know. Hope you are able to read or keep your hands busy while you wait.
Lian looks so sweet in her new outfit. You did a wonderful job on the sandals, super cute!
    Hugs
    Ingrid
